  1. A 15mm spacer would make it a 20mm offset.
  2. Manny's detailed response when Chris Wilson asked the same question last year. http://soarercentral.com/alsc-forum/messages/3/21772.html I believe that it's also possible to use the Supra TT rear subframe, suspension, and diff on the Soarer (but Manny would probably know for certain).
  3. That car with that VIN (JT2DE82A1W1003105) is for sale in Chicago http://www.vipimports.com/97Supra.php EDIT: corrected wrong URL
  4. Must be a Toyota thing. The Soarer is the same.
  5. I'm way too old to for this to be any concern of mine, but..... why is Radio 1 all "club" music on Friday and Saturday night? Isn't the target audience all out er... clubbing? (or is the real target audience too young to get past the door staff?)
  6. Wasn't he allegedly the inspiration for Ali G?
  7. The W124 has the reputation of being one of the best-made cars ever. Prone to oil leaks from the headgasket IIRC.
  8. Agreed. Azev A. http://www.wheelspecs.com/specs/wheelmodels/1190
  9. Soarers also have crap lights (and no "UK" upgrade). I haven't tried them yet, but PIAA bulbs are a popular mod for our cars. Expensive, but a lot cheaper than HIDs.
  10. It's repeated at 23:55 Tuesday. I liked that old Merc SEC that was driven from Germany, raced for 24 hours, finished 28th, then was driven home.
  11. Even with the adjustable gears, you can't change the cam duration. You can change the lobe centres and the overlap.
  12. Just a thought .... A member of the Australian Soarer Club who had problems with the HKS cam gears (snapped belt) had some made using the Toyota gears. It worked out at 185 AUD + 45 AUD deposit per gear (about 80 / 20 of your English pounds). How much would it be over here? http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/292/13004.html .
  13. You'll find the TT owner on LSOC (and a few LPG V8 owners as well) - his username is "Stavros" http://www.lexusclub.co.uk/ I think Andy (bedlam) knows the car. I've seen one of the V8s, and the owner was more than happy with the conversiion. .
  14. I know of a TT and several V8 Soarers running LPG. I think there was a 3-litre on LPG (same engine as the N/A Supra) a few years ago, but I don't know what happened to it.
  15. Isn't standard offset 50, so 45 is already 5mm further out?

    Paypal ?

I've received a couple of phishing e-mails in the last week which purport to be from service @ paypal.com. "As part of our security measures, we regularly screen activity in the PayPal system. We recently noticed the following issue on your account: We would like to ensure that your account was not accessed by an unauthorized third party. Because protecting the security of your account is our primary concern, we have limited access to sensitive PayPal account features. We understand that this may be an inconvenience but please understand that this temporary limitation is for your protection. Case ID Number: PP-072-838-482 " The mails include what looks like a real PayPal URL, but if you hover the mouse cursor over the link the real URL is something completely different. .
  17. It's not quite the same type of event, but I've always wanted to see the Reno Air Races. "The Unlimited Class has generally been populated by stock or modified WWII fighters, the most-often-flown types including the P-51 Mustang, F-8F Bearcat, and Hawker Sea Fury. Aircraft speeds in the Unlimited Class reach 500 mph.
  18. If the unleaded has affected the cylinder head, it's likely to have caused the valve seats to wear excessively. Have the valve clearances closed up? You could use LRP in a converted engine (no cat), but there would be no point. Apart from anything else, I can't remember the last time I saw LRP.

    is this normal?

You can play with this to see all the various equivalent sizes http://www.powerdog.com/tiresize.cgi There are several calculators on the web, but this one lets you compare different tyre specs. .
  20. Originally designed by the company which later made the Grifo and Rivolta -- ISO
  21. If it went through a Japanese auction BIMTA reckon they can do a mileage check http://www.bimta.co.uk/MileageChecks.asp http://www.bimta.co.uk/CertificatesofAuthenticity.asp#
  22. How economical does it need to be? There seem to be some cheep Cherokees about.
  23. Some J-Spec 16s are the same width front and rear and are 225-50/16 all round .
