    White Doves

Call that Hugh Fearnley-Whitingstall bloke. One episode of his "River Cottage" series on Channel 4 included an air rifle, the cull of an overpopulation of doves, and their subsequent conversion into delicious and nourishing foodstuffs.
  2. According to the vehicle data search on the RAC web site, MAR 5H is on a VW New Beetle Cabriolet, and M4 RSH isn't on anything.

The V6 version of the 2JZ is more common than you might think http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4601406505&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Fsatitle%3D4601406505%26catref%3DC3%26from%3DR2%26fvi%3D1 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4548068892&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fws%2Fsearch%2FSaleSearch%3Fsofocus%3Dbs%26satitle%3D4548068892%26sacat%3D-1%2526catref%253DC5%26amp%253Bsspagename%3Dh%253Ah%253Aadvsearch%253AUk%26from%3DR7%26nojspr%3Dy%26pfid%3D0%26fsop%3D2%2526fsoo%253D2%26fcl%3D3%26frpp%3D200%26fvi%3D1
  4. Happy birthday Joe. Didn't realize that the shoot was an (early) birthday present
  5. Straight swap, I believe. This is also a popular mod on the Soarer. The main problem is making sure that your wheels will clear the big 4-piston front calipers. Anything which will fit a UK-spec Supra TT will do. An alternative is a pair of alloy 4-piston front calipers from a series 2 LS400. They are a lot lighter but apparently slightly less powerful. PS You should find useful information on http://www.clublexus.com/forums http://www.lextreme.com/suprabrakeupgrade.html
  6. How about this for an oil change interval? http://www.amsoil.com/testimonials/409000.aspx Anyone fancy trying it on a Supra?
  7. Thanks. Is that with Type IV or Dexron? Last time I checked, the T IV fluid alone cost more than that.
  8. I gathered that . I thought that there might be something in the manual which would add to my limited knowledge of Toyota automatic gearboxes....
  9. What does the Toyota manual say? I've read the transmission servicing downloads, but they only talk about draining the sump and cleaning the filter.
  10. He used to own a really big train set -- the Flying Scotsman -- but it was even more expensive to run than a Supra
  11. Has anybody had a megaflush or equivalent done? I asked about a megaflush-type fluid change for the Soarer and they reckoned they needed to start with enough fluid to fill the autobox twice over, which is expensive if you're using Type IV. It's probably cheaper to disconnect the cooler pipe and let the 'box flush itself. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=650993&postcount=6
  12. There are tyre size calculators on the 'net http://www.powerdog.com/tiresize.cgi find the closest to the standard sizes (then check if those sizes actually exist )
  13. ATF and Transmission Filter Change Procedures (45k PDF) from here: http://www.amsoil.com/StoreFront/atf.aspx if you are doing a complete change
  14. We like J-spec Supra owners who change injectors.... more 440s to upgrade Soarers
  15. I haven't seen any of "Space Cadets", but.... since they were supposed to be in space, how did they explain gravity to the victims?
  16. Some of Nizlopi's tracks feature uillean (bag) pipes played by the father of one of the two band members. Doesn't sound like a calculated marketing strategy to me http://www.nizlopi.com/main.htm Edit: I've never actually heard the JCB song.....
  17. Nothing at all........ unless lane 1 is clear and you are holding up traffic which is travelling faster than you are.
  18. Some coincidences.... and some errors of fact http://www.snopes.com/history/american/linckenn.htm I hope not, she died in August 1962 and Kennedy was assassinated in November 1963....
  19. I think I'd put money on that "editoriial" having originated in the US, probably on some right-wing fundamentalist Christian blog. As already pointed out, "In God we trust" is much more American than British. "Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation" also sounds like something that an American would say. "Our Flag, Our Pledge"? What pledge is that, then? U.S. again. Isn't "Fair go" an Australian expression? How did that get in there? If you Google a sentence from that so-called British tabloid article you'll find it on forums and blogs all over the net, but can you find it on any of the tabloid sites? I can however, easily find versions with "London" replaced by America, Australia, and Canada, and in every case the poster couldn't be bothered to remove the Americanisms.... Not worth arguing about .
  20. One of the most important rules of posting ...... always check Snopes first
  21. Very true, but for me it's Marvin Gaye's "I heard it through the grapevine"

    Top Gear

According to the Hamster's column in the Mirror last week, he's kept the Ferrari (which did seem to be the only half-decent car of the three). http://www.mirror.co.uk/motoring/richardhammond/
