  1. Well I've no idea where I got the idea that fly by wire wasn't allowed in cars then.
  2. AFAIK fly by wire throttle and brakes aren't allowed on the roads yet, and the Prius does have a cable. I think it was a case of the pedal mechanism sticking because of a missing metal plate on the pedal arm?
  3. I couldn't find them for ages, then someone bought me a pack! There's a little corner shop near me that sells them. WOOHOO!
  4. I'm not sure how it works, but it's a very clever vehicle so I guessed it wouldn't let you turn the 'engine' (obviously the actual engine is off when you stop anyway) off when driving, only when you've stopped and put it into park or put the brakes on.
  5. Not that I've looked as I just eat the lot, but do they say "Recommended serving 40g" or something?
  6. Good point. Still annoying though as we couldn't show Loki he'd cause chaos in the ring! What exhibit number are you? I think Mals are first in this year.
  7. OMG I LOVE Kettle Chips, has to be lightly salted though and not those horrible ridged ones that Tesco seem to sell (or is it Asda). I think my fave crisps are still T-Bone Steak flavour Roysters though.
  8. £5 to a charity of your choice. Stakes are higher this year though it seems!
  9. Are you last years winner who hasn't claimed then?
  10. All good comments, have any of you actually been in a Prius? It's keyless, the key is in your pocket (on the latest model), so you can't 'switch off the engine', I have no idea what would happen if you pressed the 'START' button whilst driving - probably nothing. Also, there's no handbrake, only a footbrake (next to the 'foot' brake ), and a P button (which again, probably does nothing when driving). Plus, they're auto and the gearbox is electric, you have to hold it over N for a few seconds before it disengages D. Basically it's all very confusing and not straight forward to slow down if the brakes fail or throttle sticks or whatever it is with Toyotas today.
  11. Good luck! We're not going, we heard you can't take your dog unless you're registered to show - which is a bit silly. Would be good if it was on TV. //edit: is this it: http://www.dfscrufts.tv/
  12. I'm confused; they say stars in the galaxy don't fit the standard gravity model, so they invent dark matter to add mass to the galaxy so that it all fits nicely, and they say they're hunting for dark matter on Earth as it is passing through us all the time, so how come the solar system does fit the standard gravity model? Surely it would behave the same as a galaxy if dark matter were everywhere?
  13. I really like it, and would love a better bike, but I have no money/bike is LOW on priority list/missus wouldn't let me cos I don't use mine enough.
  14. I think it's mainly for people who say "How much are you after" in a 3 year old for sale thread.

    A brain teaser

I think that's called a mid air collision.
  16. Whatever happened to these ones then?
  17. I'm in!! At least if the new rules are crap and the races are rubbish we can still get a bit of excitement out of the season!
  18. Sounds like a good one. Is it a second part to a previous one?
  19. I went Massa because nobody else had!
  20. and whilst we're at it, surely AIDs is just a form of natural selection?
  21. It's clearly some weird god war that's been raging for ages. Now Flocke has recruited some people we should find out his intentions over the next few episodes - maybe when they meet up with Hurley and Jack and Jack fulfils whatever purpose he has!
  22. My other option is to just stick to BPU, but having been there in a 6spd I fear I know where I'll want to go!
  23. I'm still toying with the idea of an auto when I've got the money. I think I will want to go single this time though - how much is a BL box and what do you lose (tip controls for example)? Is it cheaper than going 6spd? Do I need to go for high stalls and all that stuff that I don't understand? Sorry for the thread hijack - might be useful to the OP as well though.
  24. I did read it again, but only because I've read it several times before.
