  1. He wants a NEWER car, don't you people listen!!
  2. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=157630
  3. Caterham? The weight might lift the back wheels off the ground though. How about a people carrier?
  4. As mentioned they dont pay income tax on that. So it works out more like the equivalent salary of £67K a year or thereabouts?
  5. I still like the idea of having the right to have 0.75 children, so a couple has the 'right' to 1.5 children. They can either buy another 0.5 children from another couple (proving they can afford to look after them and supplementing the lower earning couple to look after their child), or sell their 0.5. We'd probably have sold our entire 1.5 by now and paid off some debts. Solves problems with debts, over-population, low income families and these scroungers!
  6. @ "close_your_legs_you_mong". Well if I were in power I'd tax couples who want more than 1 child rather than giving them money.
  7. We saw a couple but he doesn't like them at all. Pics? Might be too small but I'll ask.
  8. 'Excuse' just means to explain yourself, it doesn't have to be a lie or a fake, I use the law to excuse myself from carrying stuff. Anyway! There are quite a few on eBay, he's been looking at garages mostly but I think he'll have to go private now.
  9. Yeah I told him that as that's the excuse I use with work (don't have business cover so not insured), he's too nice though he goes along with it so as not to upset anyone. Too small mate, they want a 5 door.
  10. My mate had an accident last week, bloke pulled out in front of him, his old 1.6 escort estate is being written off and he's getting £900. The courtesy car is obviously being taken when the cheque clears so he needs another car ASAP! His insurance won't cover him on any other car once the courtesy car is gone as well. He's looking at things like Astras and Vectras, nothing really smaller (wife and kid). He said he didn't want an estate or big car cos work take the piss with transporting stuff, but TBH he needs a car now so anything will do. I've tried the usual channels, found a few, went to look at some, not much luck though - any help from you guys would be great.
  11. More to the point it would be up in the air with no fuel in it during quali! Anyone got any shots at the end of a race compared to quali?
  12. I'll be using it in my 1994 Mitsi Delica 2.8TD. the fuel pump seals are known dodgy on them though and I have no idea what make of pump it is, so I'm a bit scared of going onto SVO, I think I'd rather go all or nothing and either make myself some BD or not bother. People keep recommending this guy, but it seems very complicated. Someone on the Deli forum suggested an easier route and I've planned the attached, with this being the stages to follow: 1) V3, V4 open - pump in WVO. 2) V2, V4 open, heater on - pump it around and heat it to 60ish degrees. 3) V2, V3, V4 open - pump in a mix of methanol and caustic/potassium. Tritration test for quantity. 4) V2, V4 open - pump it around 30 mins. 5) All off and leave to settle for 24 hours. 6) V1 open - drain off crud. 7) V2, V5 open - pump out bio. After V5 I'll need some inline filters down to 1 micron as well, then it should be ready to use in ANY diesel as a straight replacement!! Average cost about 20p per litre!! But I'm still scared, ideally I wanted some more opinions from people who've tried it, see what mixes they've tried and whether they've washed it or done some shake tests to check for glycerol etc.
  13. Anyone ever made bio-diesel before? I've been looking at it for a few days and there are so many conflicting opinions on the forums, some say just stick vege oil in up to 75%, some say you'll blow your piston rings and fuel pump seals if you do. Some say it's fine to use bio-fuel on any car and some say only on pre-2000 diesels. General opinion seems to be that making your own bio-diesel is the best option, and it works out to about 20p per litre after buying the Methanol and Caustic, and it will run exactly the same as normal diesel in any car except you should up your maintenance a bit just to make sure your filters aren't clogging etc.
  14. How would that work? It'd need to be low to the ground in quali and then also low to the ground with fuel onboard - basically the suspension would need to be solid!! I'm sure that wouldn't be good for handling! Although I'm guessing F1 suspension is pretty stiff anyway seeing as they need to hold up a couple of tons of downforce!
  15. I thought it was a loophole whereby teams were allowed to regass their shocks or something? And RBR were regassing a bit more than required to up the ride height with more fuel. So now the FIA have said "Any system, device or procedure, the purpose and/or the effect of which is to change the set up of the suspension" surely that means the loophole has been closed.
  16. Oh no it's completely for me to read! I just said I don't like the films. move to members chat?
  17. Awww poor little guy, amazing pics of the little dude though!
  18. LOOSELY! Whenever Zoe's watched one of the films she's been dissapointed that it missed so much out. I get what you're saying though the basic plot twists and character deaths etc. should be covered you would think.
  19. I met my missus and got a date because of my car (and it was an MG!), and it was her fault that we bought the Supra - I would have had my sensible hat on at the time but she persuaded me with lots of talk of "you only live once" etc.
  20. I thought the first 2 were pants as well, the missus loves them (mainly because of the male leads I'll bet) so give us the scripts and I'll ruin it for her when we no doubt watch it in future.
  21. So did I, hence my vague TF&TF joke relating to O'Connors Eclipse.
  22. You'll also want a NOS-fogger system and an A.I.C. controller.
