  1. Buy an N/A, but this is all depending : Have you considered running costs - tax, fuel, servicing Have you checked out insurance for an import NA, an import TT and a UK TT? And the quote isn't a MKIII Supra? A good intro at that price is a 5-speed N/A imho. But one for circa 3k, have the 1k left to spend on either decent alarm if needed, or other servicing and then enjoy a year of good motoring with no modding then go from there. (coming from a member who bought an N/A at 21 god... 9 years ago.)
  2. A tasty snack to go with it is chocolate covered coffee beans. Mmmmmm coffee
  3. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rocket-Coffee-Strong-Instant-Guarana/dp/B0043PVZNY Though skip the boiling water/cup, just use a spoon. Myself I'm now a demon for doppio iced espressos now I can't drink energy drinks Though maybe 6 shots of espresso some mornings may not be doing me too much good. Blood pressure's fine tho
  4. There's a few salons that do it down here and it's commonplace back where my family is in Malaysia. The places around here are being looked at though due to health concerns, i.e. quality of water for people (more than the fish) and also the possibility to spread diseases/verrucas etc. How much drink do we have to ply you with to try dunking your face in?
  5. Can I ask how we're meant to pay for this chap? (I know with money...). Bank deposit/chaps/bacs/cheque/paypal? Cheers, Simon
  6. Please PM me your lowest acceptable offer as I don't want to muck you around with haggling. As I guess buying even tho they're new I wouldn't get any warranty, seems I need to unwire the resistor pack to use these in a UK spec.
  7. BCC? I'm not even sure what that acryonym stands for
  8. Hey J, Give Turbo Dynamics down here a call - 01202 487497 and I bet they'll be able to tell you in 2 minutes. They'll also be able to carry out the work for you and they're top notch guys and one of the rare genuine Garrett authorised sellers.
  9. Let me know if not sold chap
  10. Going well still I see! Sorry if I've missed a post anywhere, have you thought about coming into the group buy on the S6? A good saving that's not going to come up often... BTW chap PM me if there are any bigger parts you're getting from Mr T, my local is giving me a very good rate at the moment (for instance I got UK 4-pot calipers less than £150 each).
  11. Just trying to find out if these drop straight into a UK spec too, if so I'll probably take them.
  12. I've asked a Mod to mod the poll, I thought MAPECU 1 / 2 were just revisions. I may get the poll modded to EMB / EMU etc, but then we'd have to have all the breeds of FCON, Motec etc. I didn't think anyone had run a megasquirt on a supra? Would agree with TR on the SAFC.
  13. That'd be a LAN cough If your missus took out the local ISP, that' be more WAN

A sort of follow on from this, a chart/poster showing the evolution of games consoles & controllers, how many can you actually say you've used? http://popchartlab.com/products/the-evolution-of-video-game-controllers
  15. Recently I've been talking with a friend who has an old school Porsche 911 Turbo and is looking to run a GT35, it's amazing the differences in technology the Supra community use vs the Porsche community (and the massive cost differences). We then got talking about ECU choice and he's said that there's a favourite amongst some Porsche fanatics and I can't say I've ever heard of it before, the MBE-9A8 / 9A9 http://www.sbdev.co.uk/Engine_Management_Systems/ECU/MBE_ECU&Software.htm To me it looks a little rudimentary once you compare to say the S6 (http://www.syvecs.co.uk/downloads/Syvecsfeatures.pdf) feature list. Not that I can find an MBE, accordingly it's used more in race cars and bikes, whereas the S6 is more a 'general purpose' ECU, which didn't quite sound right to me. Has anyone heard of this ECU? Also I thought I'd put a poll up seeing now what ECU/Piggyback people are using (please let me know if I need to add options) as it seems according to the ECU register there are 12 in total inc piggybacks. I apologise if this is a bit of a duplication to the ECU register, but this subforum it'll get more visibility as well as hoping for general discussion of ECUs and their differences.
  16. Whifbitz can supply you with subframes if req'd chap. I got a set of the same Misanos and got frames off Mr Whiffin with no problems whatsoever
  17. When they start offering a 12" slice of pepperoni to use as a base, I will agree. Pepperoni, covered in tomato sauce, add cheese, then add more pepperoni.
  18. Special pies for special people? I've never been a pie person myself, bar Jumbucks
  19. Really no point to firms as said in the thread in post 3, it's a very very simple process.
  20. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-14820584 wtf. Also today : http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/sep/07/student-killed-after-conker-row Is there just something in the water this week for crazy people?
  21. As said above, the Whifbitz kit looks supremely well made Detailed by Paul here : http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?236548-Garage-Whifbitz-Twin-Wastegate-Turbo-kit Getting the twin wastegate manifold myself
