  1. Expect drive prices to double again in the next 8-12 weeks most are saying. Looks like most channels are going to be strained for at least 6 months SSD is now cheaper than HDD on some £/Gb De-dupe can only fill so many gaps I'd say.
  2. North of £700, going off the fact I have a 1.5L bottle full of silver coins and that's about £300 when full
  3. Yep cross-site dark fibre & dwdm
  4. Should've gone for a curry instead. Just had a lovely chicken pathia and a chicken tikka paratha. Mmmmm
  5. Could you do BODMAS on an abacus?
  6. 2 litres of diet cherry coca-cola is what did it for my missus. Doctors weren't too impressed by her BP because of it tho GLWTB
  7. Well it was 11:11:11.11 11/11/11 earlier. And for the americans here, that's 11:11:11.11 11/11/11
  8. So basically you need a phone with a really good case being the upmost importance? It's going to be interesting to see what you choose and where you compromise. Whatever you do, don't buy a playbook to go alongside a crackberry. Ah the blag thing was just that guest blag? About the thing with the wheels and the track and the tests to see if you're allowed to wear a helmet and crash into tire barriers.
  9. I have this bad image now of about 50 odd programmers worldwide doing something furiously underneath the desk. They were even showing windows calc, Google, Excel, Java, APL, Smalltalk, KDB and a texas instruments scientific calculator to show workings. Then we got back to order of execution and notation. There have been many ways to interpret the question, deriving different answers - I'm honestly amazed it took as many posts as it did before the bickering... sorry debate started I was just sick of the people on FB stating - it's this ... cos I said so and being so fricking close-minded to any other methodology
  10. Sorry lads will be doing this tonight hopefully when I get home
  11. So basically you're a bit of a gorilla with your technology then? Hmmm, reliability I would say most people unfortunately that have unreliability on them is self-inflicted, esp people who go 'yeah i jailbroked my phone lol' and completely mess something up. Heck I had 4 people who last month were taking back their iphone because it was a 'brick' and yet oh ... 15 seconds and I'd got it working for them as they didn't even know how to restart it. Understood on the connectivity front then. You journos are all techno phobic I recommend you this. You could probably drop it on the track and it'd still survive. http://www.reghardware.com/2011/04/15/review_sonim_xp3300_force_rugged_mobile_phone/ How's your blag btw?
  12. Simple fix then It's weird how tech progresses.... years at home I was amazed when my modem dialled to 14.4kbs ... i.e. 1.4KB/s (0.0014MB/s) and yet I'm sat here on a lan where I'm pushing some data with about 392GB/s of bandwidth and I'm loathing the wait
  13. Good isn't it? I thought this'd start some interesting healthy debate and it has And hooray, no-one's sworn at it yet. It does though highlight exactly the assumptions or the reliance on equipment that the people on FB are answering these questions with. This also stems from having a student who did a degree in 'I.T' who didn't know hexidecimal. It seems it's a Business IT degree - i.e. he could tell you what the term peripheral means, or maybe possibly what a bus is, but couldn't explain a working example. Bring back Computer Science... and people with an ability to do math.
  14. You Sir win a cookie! We had quants programmers arguing about this at work with java and APL people.
  15. This all stems from an argument about it with a bunch of programmers. There are several ways to read this and also execute it!
  16. That. I have you down as a sane rational person so can I ask for examples? Screen quality is one of the best. If you're worried about fragility I'd say people breaking them are just not careful of their possessions. Had iPhones since the 1st Gen, prior to that a huge Nokia, SE and Moto fan, I cannot say I've had any reliability issues myself. A friend had a modem issue, one's had an aerial issue but as with most faults, you'll generally find people only write reviews/posts when they have something wrong - when it's business as usual hardly anyone writes 'nothing to see here' Connectivity - we talking to 3rd party devices etc? Mass storage use or something? Not against the HTC stuff, I think it's lovely, not played with the S2 yet, but would just like to hear your justification of the points
  17. Shame they aren't doing the same to the desktop If there's one program with a plethora of vulns, causes CPUs to spin and memory to be used up... it's flash.
  18. Surely best people to ask about this are mappers? Who'd really be able to tell you when a fuel is not great for the car re timing/det?
  19. These look awesome and are staggeringly light GLWS, cheaper than I bought mine for!
  20. Relatively true, after talking with my friend who's the parts manager at Westover Nissan in Poole... they have a lot of people ringing up asking for quotes when considering cat-D write off GTRs... Most of them don't take it up after they get the full part list.
  21. Been fine for me this year
  22. Hi karolina, Sorry for not having got back to you - I'll take them. Please PM me method of payment? Cheers, Simon
