rant The mini was fixed !!...until i crashed it through a barn :(
dangerous brain replied to SupraDan24's topic in Off Topic
There must be a mini specialist you can drop this motor into to get it sorted rather than buying lots of stuff to try and sort it by internet committee? -
OOO which can is it? Linky please

Dude I'm not trying to be argumentative at all. It is for me hard to read the italic font. I'm sure as a favourite son you could persuade your dear mum to change the font a tiny bit to make it more legible -

Looks twee and in keeping with the style of the business but its not the easiest font in the world to read chap. In fact its so hard to read online I wouldn't read more than a line or two. Layout though is very good! -

The background needs a tad more opaque so the written stuff is more obvious because the two timber colours used match. Like I suggested to the OP you've used heavy impact on the company logo smack in the middle of the top of the page and compounded it with contact details both sides of said logo (genius) You don't have to navigate anywhere really to see what your firm is offering. and the links go somewhere other than the homepage! -
This in fact does not amaze me. I've seen in this clubs history far worse examples of people trying to buy things that at first appear to be bargains only to end up at the end of a list of creditors. I'd like to say I've only seen it a couple of times but there are repeated "mistakes" over and over again here. FWIW it does appear in this instance that the for want of a better word "offender" has got family issues and is trying to haul a bad situation out of the mire.. Lets be clear here there is a guy going about blatantly stealing from forum members Norman Joseph Fowler who has done the rounds of alot of jap forums and the police still haven't caught him. There is a difference. Give the chap a chance and you may see a resolution. The worst that can happen is that he does a Lucifer and vanishes. That worst means you get nowt, so if there is an option of getting something surely its worth a bit of patience?

I understand its in development but I'll be harsh anyway. The logo is your companies selling point, why is it stuck over on the side like that?? Its your own site and not a banner on someone elses, put it pride of place and make it stand out, that black & white with red on green doesn't show it as good as it could either. The font size? Does that really add anything that perhaps a main sponsor supplier logo couldn't replace on your banner? Secondly a link that goes only to the original page is a link for the sake of it. Yes it makes the page look better that you have a link but dissapoints when it goes nowhere. It displays a lack of effort to display more content. Also the link mini pictures should do more than just pull the main pic up. In the minimum it should stop the picture rotation so a customer can stop the picture they are interested in seeing and spend some time viewing it, what it really should do though is pull up a high res picture of that product. I understand your opening page wants to load fast and be high content which is why you go for low res gifs on the home page but if you have links out to pics at least make them something glossy to see. From a marketing perspective I'd have the name brands of the stuff you sell/instal on the page somewhere below your contact details with their ISO creditations (bit like those car door shopping lists) to let your potential customers know you are fitting quality products. I'd have the investors in people logo somewhere too. Makes the whole thing look alot more professional. I'm not having a pop but you did ask so there is my opinion old bean -
Condition varies wildly second hand. One set I bought looked like they had been buried for a decade, another set looked like new. You really do take an utter gamble buying second hand when for £320 you get spanking new calipers and £60 a disc gets you spanking new discs. When it comes to the thing that stops your car why would you compromise by buying unknown condition parts for what is actually stupid money. I've not seen any other second hand brakes make the sort of money UK spec supra brakes make second hand, frankly its ludicrous.

Here starts the new world of technology ruling the world and the man with the button being in charge. As soon as you let a man with a button press that button to obliterate a problem that his own system tells him is a problem with no other evidence being required then you are in the same teritory as a king that cuts off heads because he feels like it.

sold UK White Supra single turbo 447bhp 15psi
dangerous brain replied to AshBhp's topic in Supra Classifieds
Am I then the only one that thinks that sticking a cheapy turbo and manifold and some BPU kit on a supra without changing the injectors or fuel control (thereby maxing out the injectors at 450 bhp, and running the car lean between the stock ecu's 1-2 turbo changeover point) doesn't warrant a price hike over a stock BPU vehicle? To warrant the money you'd need to finish the job and stick some proper injectors and a mappable fuel solution on the car. There's trick 6 speeds available for not a lot more money to compete with for a sale. -
http://www.brakeparts.co.uk/ In stock £102 per caliper in an as new condition!! You'll actually struggle to beat toyota prices for stock discs.

Potenza's grip well but wear out fast. Toyo T1R's are a bit better grip but wear out just as quick. Falken 452's don't grip quite as well in the dry but better in the wet than the previous two. The best all rounder so far I've ever used is the goodyear eagle F1 GSD3 but thats discontinued. Pirrelli P Zero Nero's are by far the stickiest tyres I've ever used but I managed to wear a set out on the back in one 20 minute track session. I am fairly sure there is a tyre review page on the piston heads forum if that's any use to you?

Missing brethren - where are they now?

That is a stunner of a car. I will one day own something like that but not as long as I live in a crap village with narrow twisty access roads. -

Camel stuff does look good. My best mate now has a camel landrover and a genuine camel rib both look cool especially the rib when he's got it hacking up and down bournemouth beach area. -
What sort of flat can you buy for the price of a supra these days?

for sale Either my Porsche 928 S2 or Golf MK1 GTI Cab
dangerous brain replied to tooquicktostop's topic in Other Items
OOOO I like both of those -
You may find even in the state its in that the celica supra would be of interest to someone as there is a lot of interest in restoring old skool jap motors. I imagine if you'll have any issues with the engine it'll be with the twin turbo VSV and waste gate gubbins etc as that lots all mechanical and hasn't been moved for years. You could always just sling a single on it to get around those sort of problems

I was last told its two years that you can hold your NCB for not on a policy. To be fair you could insure a wreck of a 2cv whilst you waited if necessary

You've got one in your avatar??? To be honest you can't argue with the price tag like this one if you want something newer http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-25-2-0-TD-101ps-Si-2004-Grey-ONLY-41-000-Miles-/300638850660?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item45ff78ce64 VAG cars in this era are not any better specced and are double the price. Very good cars. I've had one and stuck good miles on it, a mate of mine had one and stuck over 100k on his. Its a nifty commuter that costs pennies to buy, pennies to run, and is disposable if it breaks.

Rover 220 is 104 bhp and easy to tune to 130 bhp with a manual boost controller Significant amount around for less than a grand http://www.carocean.co.uk/search.html?q=rover+220+sd

I'll second it. I put over 40k miles on a £400 100k mile rover 220 sdi and other than a puncture and needing some new brakes it never let me down. In fact its sat on my drive now another year and 25k miles more as he is borrowing my car for a week to test drive it (he wants a mazda MX3 and I own one at the mo). The thing is he will sell that car for the £200 he paid me for it even as a non runner as people want cheapy runners even if they have to fix them so its not that big a gamble. If you are that worried about breakdowns get full coverage for premium roadside assistance. FWIW though I see alot of supposedly good cars sat on the roadside awaiting recovery and not really all that many sh*tters.
