Looking for some experience with these.I've had problems with HID kits in the past from different sources. I had a few from the group buy when I used to help direct customers, but still had issues and saw alot of people come back with problems, ballast were always going. Wondering if people have used their warrenty etc just how they felt the quality of the products was. Going to buy a kit myself, wanted some feedback first. Not looking for any feedback regarding bodykits, fitment issues or any non-kit related items. Thanks guys

???????????? Im going to manually put 12v into the light circuit tomorrow and see if I have any luck with that, upg gave me some advice on which wires to test so gonna try that. Racking my brains! Which fuse are you refering to mate? I've checked the fuses on the drivers footwell and under the hood with no luck. The dash itself works and functions with brake lights and indicators working, headlights work just the dash lights that won't trigger. Maybe have to run them off the sidelights maybe I've fluffed a wire by tugging it around, apparently I've been called a bit brutal with my dash de-assembly.

Tried a few things here. No voltage at dimmer switch. Checking through circuit diagrams at the moment, going to log what happens so it's somewhere for me to log what pins are doing what. I found a broken wire on the back of the dash, this was the intercepted wire for the speed converter, wired it up nothing changed. Headlights work, signals work, just the backing LED's have no power and radio doesn't dim when light is switched on either, not sure how radio changes I would assume voltage drop but not sure? Anyway, plug voltages WITH lights on (off was no change) A 1 0 A 2 0 A 3 11v A 4 11v A 5 0 A 6 0 A 7 0 A 8 0 A 9 0 A 10 0 A 11 0 A 12 0 A 13 0 A 14 0 A 15 0 A 16 0 ------------------------------------------ C 1 0 C 2 0 C 3 0 C 4 11v C 5 0 C 6 0 C 7 0 C 8 0 C 9 0 C 10 0 C 11 0 C 12 0 C 13 0 C 14 0 C 15 0 C 16 0 ------------------- What to do from here ?????

Whats going on with this custom 'tea strainer' idea. we need to talk about dimensions for inlet and outlet ports so i can begin to design something to consider making this.

what is your opinions on this ebay turbo kit looks excellent for the price!

he isn't looking for an NA-T kit. and with a lowered compression theres no reason an NA couldn't use a T76, the current XS T61 has almost identical inducer wheel dimensions as the T70 so it's not that far off for usual na.t turbo -

You can save as much money as you want but mitchells advice will definitely stand its weight in gold if you have a problem. My boost controller didnt work, then I had a mis-fire. Not always the parts but buy the best you can afford or just save up Imagine if you buy a cheap turbo and it goes majorly wrong. As long as you wouldn't worry about it your fine lol Not the case all the time but always a risk! -

ive used XS and not had an issue. there have been some fitment issues in the past, but unless you use 100% manufactures components you could run into this with any product. a manifold is a manifold, if it cracks weld it, you can buy 10 cheap manifolds for the price of 1 an have it repaired countless times, as long as it flows as good with the same diameter tubing whats the point. wastegate should be a decent one though, you dont want that going wrong. get a decent intercooler but cheap piping, that kind of concept? savemoney where you can but the parts that matter may cost you. im looking at buying a borg warner 366, doesnt mean a cheaper one would do the job I just want a more premium product next. i would say the best peice of advice is get the best you can afford and not buy it because it wont dent your wallet, and if you can only afford rubbish it's not worth it. a turbo kit for less than a grand is worrying. XS na-t kits are more than that and they can only make it so cheap by selling a `kit` with lots of bits missing (intercooler is one example). i know other people that have had lots of miles from XS turbos, but from what ive seen on dyno's they won't spool as good for the same mechanical dimensions (or roughly the same) or as fast. -

if your going to buy cheap, at least buy cheap products from a company people have had experience with. you could pop a turbo and throw all those nasty little bits into your engine and regret more than blowing your snail. buying he cheapest of the cheap isn't the way forward, there are middle range products onthe market with better history. speak to jekyl if you want to know more about low cost single kits, he has worked with a fair number of cost products and also can help install them. -
If you do the top I think it will look lush dude. Looking good though. One question... what the hell are you going in the mirror of one of the photos

Look good mate. How are you securing that stuff to the bonnet?
-
Lol sorry mate. I always have temptation to act 'more' of an idiot on your threads. Why you wanting to remove it?
-
Problem.... ..... solved. No need to thank me. Got my hero pants on today.
-
to be fair we all know an NA is quicker than a stock TT
-
Was looking at mine over the weekend thinking about spraying it. are they easy to remove I've never tried. Dan that carbon dipping looks awesome!

Be nice for some feedback guys? I also have a spare drivers side replica spat I can throw it as well. Any ideas?

I understand both sides, I've been a member for a little while and I've had alot of people make judgement on most the stuff I've ever made. It's only the past year people have given me good comments instead of - "why would you bother making that" or "that's a crap idea" the list goes on. You can not poo poo any ideas, not even the stupid ones that are impossible, as it can stunt creativity generation in peoples brains which is what modification is all about. Some random idea turned into a product. Creativity it all about idea generation, the train of thought is stunted by peoples comments even though they are not ment in anyway insulting. Its just how people react. Its hard not to dismiss crazy ideas, we are logical by nature being creative is very difficult as we relate to things with past experiences (as a child a box could be a space ship or a car or a plane due to having limited past experiences, now you wouldnt ever think such a thing your brain is logical thinking and creativity is limited, around 5% of your thinking pattern is typically creative). My headlight intake got my loads of laughs and giggles. Fact is, I had people message me asking me to make them one and the people that tried to make me look stupid would't have the sense to make one anyway. The lesson I learnt buddy, is if you have an idea it can be done. As long as you keep it legal and don't get lost in the battle of getting it to work then I reckon crack on with it. Half the crazy idea's I have always get interest and that's only because people get on the same crazy wavelength and think it may even be possible, doesn't mean they will all work but if you don't try you won't know. Lately I am getting people giving me ideas and suggestions to try, more people on the forum are getting involved in creativity with product creation and modification (though some silly ideas like mounted guns and lasers have been dismissed ) Without new ideas and random creations alot more than owners clubs wouldn't of ever even been made. I think chris is just trying to say could your time and effort be spent elsewhere first, as long as your car in well maintained and serviced fully and vital important service parts aren't being left out to spend money on other things then whats the problem.

?? MOT requirement isnt to have a front fog light, lower model car's dont have fog lights included so wouldn't need a friendly MOT tester.
-
1. is it illegal not to have fog lights at front? fogs lights on front of the car is not an MOT requirement. only on the rear. To back this up, ou see lots of cars wit fog lights on the front driving about - its common not to have fogs on older cars 2. can i replace the fog lights with a HID kit, effectively replacing the fogs with better lights? yes, its just a different bulb fitment. but its still a fog light and still aiming light in the wrong direction. The whole fog unit will need to be relaced with a dipped beam unit and mounted into the headlight so it keeps the same level as the current headlight units. I looke into this, its an awesom job to do, but with the amount of space it will take alot of skill and also keeping the insde of the headlight looking tidy may take some work. Take one apart and have a look. The lense comes out easy you can get a rough idea the work involved with just splitting a light apart. Remember its the dipped beam unit from the light, not just the glass lense this doesn't direct the light to make it dipped beam the unit behind this makes all the magical light direction happen, don't forget the dipped beam lense is also bigger (glass lense included).
-
it's illegal due to the direction of the light coming from the fog lights. the only way your be able to legally run two sets of headlight is to remove the fog light unit, and replace it with another dipped beam lense to ensure the direction of light doesn't dazzle drivers which is why without fog, fog lights are illegal. i very much doubt without ALOT of time and effort relocation of a dippd beam unit into the fog light area would be easy. i was looking into moving the dipped beam to the fog light area, the space is very tight, the bulb fitment is completely different without custom brackets and alot of buggering about your not looking at an easy modification.
