  1. I supposed with lift you still have the bottle neck of the port to contend with? I knew the duration was denoted by the number the lift is usually 8-11mm somewhere I think. Im tempted to try and exhaust cam, as my stock intake has a dizzy gear im limited to having both. would I be able to run this on the stock gear?
  2. Hi all. Have often seen a staggered set up with cams, 256/264 etc, was wondering if a stock cam with a high lift cam would give any benifit. 272 to be exact. And if any benifit, would this just run on the stock gear? Thanks
  3. If I had the cash I'd definitely go with a BW362, that was my next choice over a cheaper turbo.
  4. Blimey, my comment seem's to have caused a stir. I love these kind of threads Mate I fully see where your coming from, reliability and all that. But my budget won't change, and I wouldn't want to be compared to a car built from premium parts. That's like comparing Tesco own biscuits to Hobnobs? Doesn't mean you won't enjoy your Tesco own biscuit any less. When your driving a cheap 600bhp or a premium built 600bhp. IF neither break down, the only thing you have on your side is that peace of mind and an empty pocket. I fully appreciate people buying better parts, I would of if I had the cash. But, I don't, so if I boost a few hundred rpm later, I still get the end result just not as able to take advantage of it. You could buy a garrett and have a line blockage (for example), turbo doesn't get fed, boom you need a new turbo. I always said I'd buy cheap unless it went wrong and then I'd replace it with more expensive parts. If mine falls apart I'll hold my hands up. otherwise I really don't feel being at least 5k short will drive that much better. Everything could fail, I could still fix or replace pretty much everything and have change. BUT!!!.... if I earned a better wage, had more cash, wasn't saving for a second degree.. I probably would buy higher end parts. But if its cheap single vs no single and pretty wheels, Im cheap all the way. You made some good points though dude and you do talk sense without slating people. On a more general note..... As well good points we should always remember there are bad cases too. Though it's not just the bad cases, people need to bring the two sides to the argument. My turbo isn't the only XS part that's been fine. I bought a 2nd hand manifold, 2nd hand downpipe. No problems apart from the o2 sensor weld's did look a bit naff, BUT it works, and lined up perfectly with my exhaust, even Whiffin was surprised when he installed it. People who haven't own these parts SERIOUSLY NEED to appreciate others buy them and don't have faults just as people who own them appreciate more expensive parts give them reassurance. Seems to be a bit of cheap-part bashing therefore your car is shit. Most of the big power guys never post on my threads, that's because it isn't their thing. They dont slag me off on the forum about it, its just not their thing, so fair enough. I'm not in their crowd, they keep their opinions to themselves. PLUS they haven't owned one. Think there's alot of people following the trend as always. Perfect example of this is the 3" exhaust is typical for single. Report shown yesterday of how a 3.5" performed 100whp better. So I got flamed for wanting bigger than 3" for my NA-T because Im not following the trend. JamieP said he always used the biggest exhaust he could. People only want to watch his video's and say how awesome his car is, how about listening to what he actually says? I took his advice on posts I read and am looking forward to remap after seeing the report yesterday showing it's worth the extra inch. True car ethusiasts shouldnt slag off anyone elses car, turbo brand or bumper choice, period! All joking aside though, this forum is full of awesome people that help you out car-related or anyway they can, I just think things get a bit heated with the NA vs TT conversions. We need to remember we help each other on the forum not cause arguments.
  5. How hard would it be to insall a charger onto an NA-T conversion? A smaller turbo than the usual T61 and one of these would definitely be pretty awesome
  6. Done 7000 miles on mine. No shaft wobble. No leaks anywhere. No problems my end. Checked it over the weekend while changing some other bits. Mines be very reliable considering it get's alot of abuse. Bit like the GTR thread this one, so many never owned one yet got so much advice on the product. I've never owned a space ship, would you take my advice on which one to buy?
  7. First time I've ever seen you pleased to own an NA Mr G. Well Done
  8. Awesome read that. Well done for finding that mate! Glad I bought big pipe work now

    Na-t build

looks great dude. took my intercooler piping underneth, your way is probably easier.
  10. You won't loose that much backpressure if your exhaust system is 2.5". My NA ran 219bhp with 2.5" exhaust and 3" decat and a panel filter. It may lower overall backpressure but wouldn't make a huge amount of difference as you still have the exhaust system giving a bottle neck creating a disturbance in flow which would in itself create even more resistance and more back pressure. Obviously not as much as a 2.5" decat. But in general.. I wouldn't worry about it.
  11. Blimey, surprised you haven't lost any power. Bet it sounds awesome though! Ready for that TT lump
  12. the system or the decat pipe? i would of thought your loosing power on a 3.5" full system on an NA
  13. TT and NA exhausts both use the same bends for the 2nd cat, and will both suit the NA or TT system. My NA even has twin heat shields for a TT setup. Thing is, most NA systems are 2.5". So if you go TT or Big Single, your limited with that pipe work. 3" min on big single. 2.5" on BPU is fine but anymore your want to be swapping it out. It' like a bottle neck effect, if you dont know what you've got measure it as if you choose to go big single and fork out lots of money the exhaust components may sneak up on you and hold you back.
  14. I bet I know what the problem is. Im gonna stab a guess and say that it rocks when you try and fiddle it in? Check the diameter on the bulb at the base to the old bulb. Some are too wide and won't fit through the hole though the stud pattern is the same. EDIT: just checked the photos and it does look like the rubber seal is sat on a larger diameter. Worth checking
  15. Wonder if the AWD system of the GTR could be fitted to the supra for less than £1m, dam that would be awesome!
  16. I use a lathe to polish different items up, anyone recommend wheels to use to polish items up, I'm new to all this polish business
  17. Saying a car is better than another is slating it isn't it? Saying it has better performance or handling is different to saying its better, again its comparing two completely different cars. Too much of a general comment. If I walked up to someone and said my car was better, they'd take offence I reckon, my opinion or not, if I said my car `its a fact my car is better than yours` they would want to hurt me Doesn't bother me either way. I think the GTR is awesome and can admit I'm jealous and when I'm a big boy I would love to own one but for now the old girl is my dream come true
  18. Better car depending on what you want from a car. So it's down to opinion, not `fact`? If you like GTR's then yes it is, if you like Supra's then no it isn't? Opinion, not fact. Your trying to fight a battle on opinon's, your personal preference is not something you can wager an argument with. The car isn't better because you think it is. I'd love the technology and performance in my Supra and I've seen a couple of front kit's that seriously makes me jealous
  19. I'm surprised how many people are still able to muster up the same comments about the GTR being computer driven and the Supra being so old in comparison. If you want a GTR buy one, no need to slate the Supra. If you've never driven a GTR then you have no idea what the hell our on about. What confuses me is how people want better grip bigger tyres LSD but a soon as you have AWESOME GRIP AMAZING SPEED thats just too good? If you want exciting go buy an NA and drive it with space savers. Bit two sided to say I want more power yet don't want to be able to control it? Im jealous you can't get a AWD supra I would think that would be loads of fun. Maybe other people are jealous about the amazing grip and performance and just think of some excuse like the spoiler isn't big enough? I drove my mates 350z the other day and was jealous how tight all the steering and suspension felt though it's not a quick. If the car has `no soul` in my opinion it wasn't being driven quick enough.
  20. Electronic components can fail without damaging the exteroir of the body, internal components could be failed and you wouldn't realise, which is why fuse's have clear glass for example. Lee is right a good looking sensor doesn't mean it's functioning correctly.

    Headlight Rings

Alloy would be easier and cheaper. Stainless would be more expensive.

    Headlight Rings

Please add ur name even if its price and firmest depending. Everyone wants a low cost product that fits good so if it isn't the best I can offer I won't get any. I will get dimensions added for main beam. I expect either brushed finish or chrome will be an option but to be fair chrome looks more updated so il assume chrome finish unless required otherwise.

    Headlight Rings

so main beam as well? ive only measured up the dipped beam and fog light. didnt think the main beam had a ring? £20 is too cheap. your looking at £2.5 postage. thats 17.50 for a custom one off item, no way it would be possible to get that machined that low. £40 is looking more realistic, the dash rings i can sell for £26 for 3, so not sure if 14quid more is going to weigh in when it's custom items. Price depending please put your name down if interested, I can wager the price more if I have actually numbers behind this: 1. 2.
