Nope. Just being petty complainants. It's not a road, just garage and driveway access. The road stops about 30 feet to the left of the picture effectively. There is a car and a half width straight line past mine into their driveway. I consulted the plans of the estate and it's labelled as "Access". She actually played the "us women aren't as good at driving as you men" card lol The corners are other gated driveways. YOU'RE ALIVE!!!!! I've missed you Ed!

A picture paints a thousand words mate

I'll start with a picture: Important bits are labelled. The dashed arrows are the "drive in - reverse into drive" line. Drawn roughly to scale. I have had my neighbours moaning at me because apparently my car being parked as in the picture is in the way and an "inconvenience" to the t**ts that live 2 doors down. As you can see, my car does block next doors garage, which they are fine with, as we are very friendly with them. It however does not block access to t**ts driveway at all. Apparently his wife cannot drive in and reverse her Golf straight into her driveway. Tonight, when they asked me AGAIN to move it out of their way, I did a little experiment. I got my wife to stand at the point where the corner of my car closest to their drive was. I then drove in, and reversed straight onto their drive with no hassle at all. I drive a saloon by the way. So, their claim of "it's in the way" and "it's an inconvenience" is quite simply a cover for "she can't drive for toffee". They have threatened to go to my landlord, which is funny in itself, because I'm pretty sure them saying "his car inconveniences us" is going to be a long way down his "give a f**k" list. On top of this, tonight I have pointed out to them that during the summer he parked his van across my garage, stopping me from having access. Did I moan about it? No. There are more important things to worry about than a temporarily blocked garage. Secondly, on two occasions he let himself in to our garden and knocked on the back door. Pretty sure that's trespassing as I have never given him permission to do so. I have now informed them if that happens again I will call the police and have him done for trespassing. I have also informed them that my car may or may not end up parked there again in the future as it is convenient for me, and really isn't in the way. They didn't like that much. These neighbours are that petty she told me to "get a life" after I spoke to them, as if it was me that had been making petty complaints. Some people should have hit the end of a condom, not an egg!

Unbelievably frustrating. It's been 3 weeks since I got the quote and sent it to them, which was 9 days after the incident. So it's been about a month ongoing now. Hopefully getting to the end of it now though. Once it gets to the garage all I need to worry about is when I get her back as I know they will chase the company for payment. I'll be forwarding them the email I get so that they have a copy too to make sure they can't run from payment.

Just received a phone call from the company director. The sub contractors company has agreed to pay half the bill, taking the cost to the main company back below £1000, so it's back to them paying for the repair. He said I'll have an email tomorrow confirming this, which I can then forward to the garage and get it finally sorted. How much I believe I'll get this email is, well, minute, but hopefully we are near the end of this rubbish.

I have still not received any insurance details from them yet. Taking the pixies now. I have drafted a rather angry email threatening legal action, but is there anything else I can throw in there to get them to hurry up? Trading Standards etc? I want to keep the recording under my belt as a final hoorah if needed.

One of my friends works for BMW. I don't know how much he earns but he has just purchased his own 3 bed detatched house and drives a 15 plate 5 series MSport provided by the company. He sells anywhere between 5 and 15 cars a week generally. I guess how much commission you would get depends on the marque. From what he tells me his commission is based on a percentage of the price of the car sold, so he gets more if he persuades clients to have all the extras etc than a base model.

Thanks guys. Hoping to have a look this week so when it comes back from being repaired after the builder incident I can crack on and get her running again.

for sale Complete W58 Manual Conversion for Mk4

The boxes used to fetch £350 - £400. With them getting harder to get hold of they tend to go nearer the £600 mark. Don't let it go too cheap. -
wanted Front bumper for 2JZGTE 96 facelift model
listy replied to Dannyboy1983's topic in Parts Wanted
Stock bumper or aftermarket? I don't have one but it will help people to know. Stock bumpers are becoming hard to get hold of these days. -
Wow that looks an amazing machine! Unfortunately I'd say that would have been stolen to order. If that's the case then it's probably already gone or in bits. I'll share it on Fb anyway for you. I hope he gets it back in one piece.

Well, I've managed to check absolutely nothing due to another incident involving a CAT Digger and my front wing. Can someone remind me the best way to check the fuel pump? Iirc turn the key to the last position (before turning over) and you should be able to hear it prime? What sound am I looking for?

I do this on a regular basis, my daily changes roughly once a year for the same kind of budget so I have a half decent idea on what's reasonalble for that budget. 2002 (ish age) Mazda6 Available for circa £1000 I had the 2 litre petrol TS2. Comfortable, spacious, decent boot. Around 35-40 mpg on a daily basis. Only problem I had was it failed an MOT on corrosion on the rear suspension mount areas and some other areas. You'd need to check for rot when looking at one. They also suffer from rust spots around the rear arches. Other than that, was a good workhorse and mechanically never missed a beat. 2003 Seat Toledo 20VT 1.8 Turbo petrol Available for circa £1000 - £1400 This is my current daily. Basically an Audi A4/VW Passat without the price tag. Punchy and returns 35-40 mpg daily again. Looks pretty good and again decent space and reasonable boot. Not a hatchback though, so the Mazda wins on the boot accesibility. Those are my last two dailys, from this year and last year. Others I'd consider: Seat Leon (Same as Toledo but not a saloon) Audi A4 VW Passat Honda Civic (saloon) Toyota Corolla Toyota Avensis Those are what I was looking at earlier this year.

I have a large Halfrauds cover for mine, but it's too small really. If you go for a Halfords one get an XL. Mine has a DoLuck front and TRD wing though.

Luckily the garage it is going to is owned by a friend of a friend who is going to help with everything. Hopefully it gets sorted now.

Well, it looks like it's going to be an insurance job. After the company originally agreeing to pay for the damage and not get insurance involved, they have now said they will not pay the fee to recover the vehicle to and from the garage, as that would put the bill over their policy excess. So now after waiting for 2 weeks for a solid response to the quote for repair, I'm now effectively back to square one with their insurance company, the details for which I will get on Monday when the guy is back in the office. I'm now worrying that because it has dragged on for so long, that not much will happen. As silly as I have been, I did not make my insurer aware of the incident as it was going to be settled without getting insurance involved. As it isn't my insurer that is paying out would it make a difference?

I've not been able to as of yet bud. Weather has been horrendous and I got handed some work this week (I'm an Outdoor Instructor and winter months are very slow going, so I have to take what I can when I can) so hopefully I'll have the time and weather to get out there and have a look tomorrow or Sunday for you.
-
It was temporarily on the road but was going to be moved to an off road parking spot the next day, as ironic as that is.
-
Well, still being messed around with this a bit. Lack of communication between the boss of the company and his lacky who deals with these things. I've been told by the boss that he and the sub contractor are splitting the bill, and been told by the lacky that insurance is dealing with it. Really starting to do my head in now. All I need is an email to confirm how it's being paid for so I can get it off for repair. I do still have the recorded conversation so may have to use that soon if I don't get a straight answer.

PM sweettom he's looking for rails for stock seats.

for sale Complete W58 Manual Conversion for Mk4

If it was a mkiv box it would be priced about right imo but as Jake says, as it's a mkiii box a little high I think. -
Not a problem. The weather is horrendous right now and I've had a few beers etc for Remembrance Sunday so hopefully I can get one on the car tomorrow. Obviously if couriered then the price will change accordingly. I'll try Paisley first for prices and let you know the outcome.
