That stance looks mean!

A small clip I took yesterday to give an impression on how the fronts (10'' with 275 tires) fits within the stock front arches.
-
You can always ask an paint specialist.
-
No problem Rob you've got pm. Note that the first invoice went per banktransfer towards the states, the second invoice was paid cash at my front door in the hands of the UPS delivery guy.
-
As Jamie said Rob buy direct, they're 2,5Kdollar the set, add about 1K for the tires if you want tires on them and shipping and import duties about 25% of the total price i think. If you want a mail adres of Dan from CCW give me a shout i still got his mailadress.

Like dude said, base coat plus clearcoat, here you find a small explanation on clear coat and how to recognize. http://web-cars.com/detail/clear_coat.php All About Clear Coats A clear coat is the top coat of a paint that contains no pigmentation or color. In a typical automotive paint surface, there is a primer coat which is what is sprayed on the metal or plastic body surface, a base coat, which contains the color and a clear coat. A clear coats purpose is to provide depth and gloss to the finish (known as DOI, or Distinction of Image in the industry) and to protect the base coat from the elements, including the harmful UV (Ultra-violet) rays of the sun. Clear coats became popular in the early 1990s and currently over 90% of new cars feature a clear coat as the top (exposed) surface. Clear coats require special consideration. Because they are clear, scratches and swirls tend to become more prominent since the clear characteristic causes such defects to be magnified. For this reason, avoiding scratches and swirls is critical if you want your clear coated surface to look good. Most detailing products available today are clear coat safe and are so labeled. This generally means that they are non abrasive or minimally abrasive. The best and easiest way to determine if you are dealing with a clear coat is to check the owners manual of the car. If that is not an option, apply a small amount of polish to a rag that is not the same color as the car and apply it to a not normally seen paint surface. If the color does not appear in the cloth surface, then you have a clear coat. The protection provided by a clear coat will not prevent oxidation but it does help the situation considerably. The clear coat itself can lose it's oils which makes it vulnerable to oxidation, turning the surface dull. Although a clear coats protective properties make modern paint jobs last longer, they still have to be maintained with oils (applied as part of a polish job) and a protective wax. Unmaintained, a clear coat can disappear, leaving the base coat exposed to the elements something that it was not designed for. If your clear coat is gone, a new paint job is required.

Supra is looking nice Marc:thumbs:, nice pictures and nice location too!

Thanks Dan, Thanks Ian W, yes that is very true, she should have been ready last week, but a last minute recall about the vis racing c/f bonnet which got exchanged last minute it caused some delay. I'd rather wait two or three more weeks and have the bonnet I like then take the supra home with the c/f bonnet that I actually like but not enough . Thanks Lex!

The eu/uk-spec bonnet is still in the paintshop, also the left rear spat is in de workshop as it had a tiny mark on it, I took her for a spin today to get familiar with the new allignment and if I had some they çould still redo the allignment before delivery. But the ride went all smooth and had no complains.
-
Dan, I took her for a spin today to see if I wanted some adjustments on the allignment. It's 3 degrees down here but dry and didn't warmed the tires, lots of wheelspin in first and second gear and i'm just bpu. Maybe the tires need a warmer environment, or they just aren't that good. Well will check again when she is completely ready, the temperature will be higher too in a few weeks of time. I'll let you know.

Cheers Westy, yes the APR carbon plate really improves the looks no doubt, I was considering an SRD cooling plate but couldn't decide, in the end I took the APR:)
-
Oke good to know, thanks for letting us know, so better stick with an HKS Racing type II bov then.
-
Jamie I am considering the twinwaste gate turbo kit from garage whiffbitz which comes with two turbosmart wastegates, and I wanted the valves to be from one brand so wanted to change my greddy type-s bov for an turbosmart raceport aswell, did you had the turbosmart valves in the past, as I heard they were also very good quality valves. I never heard they were rubbish.

Last weekend my vis racing c/f bonnet got exchanged for an euro/uk-spec bonnet, this is the bonnet that I like:)She will be sprayed in 040 as well off course.Paul Whiffin supplied me with some under the bonnet goodies, thanks and thumbs up :thumbs:for Paul @ garage Whiffbitz for very fast delivery and proper packaging as always. They've managed to testfit the parts already for me, the bonnet is already in the paint shop to be worked on.

Is it possible to have an TRD front strutbrace with an EU/UK-spec bonnet?
Mario replied to Mario's topic in Supra Chat
Oke thanks Scott, that is everything I wanted to know, I can keep my strutbrace with an UK-spec bonnet:). -
I got offered an UK/EU-spec bonnet in perfect condition yesterday and he's willing to take my VIS-Racing c/f bonnet (trd-style) but forgot about the front strutbrace I have on my supra, it's an TRD strutbrace, will it fit? I have really no idea any advice or input will be much appreciated. Thanks Mario.

For model differences UK/US/EU/J-spec see this link http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?248486-Stock-Supra-performance-stats-(input-required!) post 12 & 26.

Lovely car, and great pricing too, 50K US$ = 32K GBP. Don't forget that it's LHD, what is the price for an perfect conditioned genuine low mileage UK-spec nowadays, isn't that around 16-22K GBP?

I had these tires when i went BPU, very good tire in the wet and dry.
