  1. This car is sold but you may find the info interesting. Herbie. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?337957-Black-tt-auto-great-car
  2. I can close the book on this now my other brother just let me know that the car has been sold by Autotrader to an Architect my deceast brother met 20 years back and gave him a ride in the car, he was mega impressed at the time, he never knew then that one day he would own the car, apparently he was looking on Autotrader and saw the car, he made an offer close to the asking price, so this is a great example of the seller and the buyer who knew nothing about these cars being quite happy with the deal, may be the £6K on top of what we thought the right asking price was is ok., "ignorance is bliss". Herbie.
  3. I agree with Dunk and may be a customer who is not familiar with this breed of car will go for it, all be it a "long shot" IMO.Not sure how Autotrader advise sellers? you think they would have suggested circa £15K max. Herbie.
  4. Hi Everyone, I feel i should let you all know that my brother's daughter decided to sell the car herself on "Autotrader", she would not take my advice, all be it she is struggling with other matters in my late brother's estate. The advert is not too detailed, quite poor in my opinion, the car reg is L994 SJN, 37,000 miles and she is asking £19950, good luck to her. Link below. 5. Cheers matthew PM just sent. Herbie.
  6. Hi Kendo, Many thanks for that info i have sent him a message, i never knew his surname was Attard so i did not know how to search for him on facebook. He went through mega problems, but i knew he would spring back, an experienced clever guy, and reliable. Herbie.
  7. Bought this 12 months ago it is designed for the Supra with a soft lining and waterproof outer skin. It comes with bespoke straps for easy fixing and removal securing straps. through all last winter etc it kept the car spot on, no chaffing due to the quality strapping and the cover's soft lining. It cost £120 delivered, i am asking £65 which includes packaging cost.(pay-pal or collection). The reason for selling is i just built a car port so no longer required. cover#4.jpg (197.9 KB) cover#2.jpg (193.4 KB) cover#3.jpg (191.4 KB)
  8. Hi Dunk, I tried PM's 3 times in last two weeks. I am not in a hurry to contact "the doctor" just wanted to see if he has set up shop again and tell him how well my car is going. Herbie.
  9. Cheers Kendo, I tried facebook but no joy. May be "suprano" will surface one day. Herbie
  10. Hi Guys, Does any one know if Dr Jekyll is still active?. I ask this as a member named "suprano" asked me for details on my NAT job and i gave them to him, he then contacted me and said thank you for the info i have located them. I asked him to furnish me with the contact details several time over the past 2 weeks but no reply to date, may be he is on holiday etc. Herbie.
  11. Because the fault has intermitant charachteristics then could the core splines where it slides be sticking?, you can get a "snick" on the shaft or on the clutch plate centre which will cause this problem. Herbie.
  12. Can't see why it only slips in 4 th gear? and only occasionally, if you havn't been doing high rev starts, then if it is slipping it could be the bell housing to crank oil seal. Herbie.
  13. I got banned for doing 138 MPH on the M8, I got 3 months ban, a £1,000 fine, BUT no points, i was in court in Dumfrese under the Procurator Fiscal, the Barrister Gavin Oare cost me £750, but saved me being banned for 12 months. The M/Way where i was nicked, with "Vascar", was quiet and out in the sticks, Betocke, the cops were very polite and if i had been over the border into England, i would have been arrested for dangerous driving, and my car compounded. I agree with what a member has said, it cannot be a safety issue? on M/Ways, the Autobahn proves that and the Isle of Man in the past, speed in urban areas is stupid, i do not do it, so this is where i would clobber the offenders. Congestion is growing rapidly, and speeding will become a thing of the past, enjoy your car whilst you can as technology is moving in rapidly, making easy money. Herbie.
  14. Yeh, It is easy to forget that when you start up grading the aesthetics and the BHP, done properly , you end up with a £10K Supra, but it is the same for property and other cars, all be it the spend and the journey on Supras is great. Herbie.
  15. I agree with Scooter but do not get why it is so cheap?
  16. Hi Burna, If you watch the news it is not fun, nor is it in many of our towns, however cars do not come into this, yes i am an ex N/A owner, but like most things in the west, apart from love and health, you can sort it with money. I am not racist, it is not colour or creed, it is "Behaviour", we employ Poles, Thai's, Irish, etc, they integrate and do not want to hurt us or change our way of life etc.they are always welcome here and in the USA. F.F.Sake, let us keep to car talk. Herbie.
  17. I wish he was running the UK as someone said he has balls, so does Marie Lapen and Nigel Farage, like the majority of uk people who voted for Brexit, i want our country back, most towns in Yorkshire and Lancs look like Bengladesh. We are full up everywhere, NHS, dentists, schools, roads, etc, so we do not need the ones who would rather die than integrate. All be it they are not the problem, it is the whimps who run the uk, who can stay in their ivory tower and not get involved with the overpopulated gheto areas. .Herbie.
  18. Hi Dudes, I meant a duel, and yes it used to be an N/A but i threw a lot of work and £5K at it last year and it gave me the wheels i always wanted, it is smooth and tight, drives well pottering about, then where you want to take off it does it, the turbo spooling sounds like the back wheels are spinning. Most motorists seem to know these cars and know what most of them are capable of. Herbie
  19. Hi Dudes, Took my rocket ship for a leg stretch on Sunday, going south on the M6, my oil temp was approaching 80C and i was then at a good speed, i steady up when i see head lights coming up in the mirror, i ID'd the car and it was not one that the heat would have, it was a AMG Merc, V8, 5 litre, i did not know this at the time, we held the speed for a while and then i dropped a cog, he tried to stay with me, but no way, can't quote the speeds but an easy guess. After 7 miles we both left the m/way and i just crossed the bridge and traveled north. When i got home i had a whats-app, it said "you need to slow down", it was from a friend who does all our ground work on the sites, i returned the whats-app and this is when i found out what car he was driving, he said i was amazed at how you pulled away at that speed, you must have some thing special under that hood. This was great to hear after spending £5K on the ability to do this. His wheels cost £87K, 3 years old, my bus is 20 years young, great cars. Herbie.
  20. Thank you guys some good points, i am much more confident now to stay with the stock catches, also no one mentioned the second safety hook that is very strong. My beast has been with me from new and only 46k on the clock so very little wear on all catches etc, if i had wear and cable and catches issues like some have mentioned, then yes the "quick release catches" would be fitted, they are £35 each on flee-bay, and various colours, just one hole in the bonnet. Herbie.
  21. Hi Guys, Just been on flee-bay looking at bonnet catches, they all require drilling holes in your bonnet, and some designs drilling your front fender as well, i am not happy doing this. My question is, are the extra catches really necessary ? even at high speed? surely the OEM's, Toyota designed their bonnet catch and the safety hook to avoid any possibility of the bonnet flying up ? I tried to force my bonnet up from below and no way, i also tried lifting it on the safety hook, again, no way. So are the various catches on the market for cars, like rallye cars which do not have an OEM bonnet catch. ? I had a bonnet fly up on me some years back and it was a shocking experience, i was approaching a bend going quite quick and luckily could just see in a slot at the bottom, it felt like i had run into the side of a furniture van, and such a massive bang, the car was my friends and his bonnet catch was worn and faulty, anyway i am not sure what to do, what do you think ? Herbie.
  22. Hi Jamie, Where are the bushes on the car and should they be on the MOT check list. ? Herbie.
  23. Some great replies dudes glad i did the thread, the bonnet is some thing i never considered and the increased pressure, (PxA = Force), in the engine bay at high speed makes the possible problem obvious, be good if Peter Richards could post details of the supplier for the bonnet pins, or PM me if the Club rules don't allow you to post the info. I experienced a bonnet flying up at speed, approaching a bend in my friends big Ford some years back, it was a massive shock, thought i had run into the side of a furniture van, luckily i could just see a bit under the lower edge to avoid a major disaster, cost me a new bonnet and screen, and a good friend for 6 months. Anyway the bonnet and a blow out on a front tyre would be my concerns. Herbie. PS: I like Tricky's posting.lol.
