You gave it away in my opinion, however i know if you are desperate for the doe, then we must understand. Herbie. -
Hi Andre, Great looking car and the mileage looks genuine. The pics for the underside of the body are not good, all be it the floor pan is rust free etc. Some will say you are asking top dollar for the car, but this is the direction these rare beasts are going in, be patient, i sold my deceased brother's car 18 months ago, 94 black, twin turbo , import, 45,000 miles, for just under £20k. Be patient and don't drop your asking price. Herbie.

Hi acsmyth, Car looks fantastic but it is so important to quote the mileage, this, and the condition, are the main attributes for a sale. Good luck with the sale. Herbie.
-
In my opinion for what it is worth is that the asking price was £3k too low, however i appreciate that the seller may have been under pressure to sell. Herbie.
-
The car does look nice and the mileage is about right for its age, the Km is circa 67,0000 miles, still ok. Good luck with the sale. Herbie.
-
I agree with Annabella, the mileage is possible, but IMHO,not probable. I would research it's history, as in my experience, a car at this mileage, which is genuine, is relatively easy to asses. Also with the on going rarity of these cars i think circa £12k would be the correct asking price. Herbie.

Hi Supra2jzge, Great looking car, inside and out, if somebody wants a appreciating asset, super sports car, then this would be it. We sold my late brother's 94 twin turbo, 45k miles, black coachwork, well looked after for just under £20K. Stick out for your asking price as IMHO it is well worth it. You may find some potential buyers are put off by the mileage, unless they know how well these cars were built. Good luck with the sale . Herbie.

Hi Guys, After 'going all round china' investigating the ECU, the Emange, etc. Last week the miss firing went much worse, instead of just miss firing on start up as its done for the past 12 months it became miss firing all the time. As luck would have it i could hear a ticking noise coming from the distributer area, when i looked closely there was a bright blue ht spark jumping from the base of the disi cap to the ali fan scroll on the turbo. Further investigation showed that the ht lead underneath the cap had worked its way out, the clip was missing and i am sure this was lost during the N/T conversion. Anyway i repaired the fault and no more miss firing. If the ht lead had stayed partly in place as before, then i would still be trying to seek out the problem. Herbie.

See link, this was my experience with the clutch, with the stage 4 the car was a pig to drive, just judders and jerks, it was either in or out nothing inbetween, the stage 2 street clutch is great, no slipping at all and drives like stock. I am running 450 bhp. Herbie. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?328374-Na-Clutch-friction-plate-wrong-way

Mk 4 tuning - ecu - temp sensor and piggy back software.
herbiemercman replied to herbiemercman's topic in mkiv Technical
Hi Guys, Many thanks for the info, especially Mike, great technical reply. Walkerstrider, i will look at the TSRM app, thank you. The issue is: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?351382-MISSFIRING-amp-HOT-OIL-TEMP-mK4-NAT WayneW, i hope i do not need one, but thanks anyway. Herbie. -
Hi Icsea, I have owned my NA manual mk4 from new in 1995 and i was getting 20 mpg, almost did not matter how i drove it. Two years back with 42,000 miles on the clock i had a top drawer NAT conversion carried out, the car has awesome performance, and the current current mpg is 17. It never changes much, but there again the really fast runs are few and far between nowadays with traffic congestion and the proliferation of speed cameras. I do not think these cars were ever intended for MPG watchers, all be it i used to measure it, now i just enjoy it and hope i keep my licence clean, that is where the real expence can come in. Herbie.

Hi Guys, Some questions for the high tech members of the club: 1. Does the engine temperature sender to the ECU supplying fueling info come from the engine water temp or the oil temp? 2. Does the "Greedy E -manage" unit replace the stock ECU or just piggy back onto it ? 3. Does anyone know where diagnostic software would be available for the Mk4 ? Many thanks. Herbie.

I fell foul of this situation 2 years back when i was praising what DR Jekyll had done to my NAT, i was well taken to task, the reason given was mentioning people who did NAT conversions and did not contribute any funds to the club, where the registered advertisers had to pay. Eventually i just had to refer to the conversion guy as "A guy in Wales". I am not really arsed about any of it, but the rules on this are vague. Herbie.

MISSFIRING & HOT OIL TEMP? mK4 . NAT.
herbiemercman replied to herbiemercman's topic in mkiv Technical
Thanks for info Mike, my car started normally this morning, i do not know why? however i drove sedately for 4 or 5 miles and the oil temp guage reached 115 deg.c. so i felt at the pipes to the oil cooler and they were nothing like that temp level, i even felt at the supply on the oil filter boss, at a guess i would say 80 deg.c max. I am not sure if the problem is the sender or the gauge so i am replacing both. My local garage guy asked me this morning if the temperature sender was connected to the ECU? but i do not know, i am sure he will find out. I hope the Emanage is ok as the car has fantastic performance, and other members from past comments speak highly of them. Herbie. -

Many thanks Guys, I will try FB kindly supplied by ellis. I never knew his surname was Attard, he did my NAT two years back and i just have a question on my MAP to ask him, i hope it is him as he really knows his stuff, not up to Chris Wilson's level, but quite good. Herbie. -
Hi Dudes, After 2 years and some 2,000 miles post my NAT conversion i have started experiencing cold starts just firing on 4 pots, the other 2 pots come in after 20 seconds and 1,000 rpm, the car then performs superbly, however when i do a bit of high speed stuff my oil temp is 130 deg.c. The thermostat on my oil cooler is factory set at 90 deg.c. The water temp is normal and the exhaust tail pipe is as usual sooty, before and after a run. With the current ambient being only 5 deg.c, and not 20 deg.c like in the summer months, then i am concerned. Be great if you can give an opinion: 1. Do you think the cold start problem could point to the fueling "leaning out", a known cause of overheating? 2. Am i right in thinking that the "mapping" settings are not likely to move or drift off tune? 3. Could the temp guage have started reading high? Any help will be well appreciated. Herbie.

Hi Guys, Is there anyone out there that has current contact details for Craig? I remember there were a couple of club members that lived near him in the Cardiff area and knew him quite well. Any help will be much appreciated. Herbie.

I decided to put louvre vents at each side of the front bumper the nerside directly below the battery and the offside directly below the turbo air intake filter, i then fitted a three inch diameter pipe from the void inside the bumper into the engine bay. I think they look good and they will supply cool air where it must reduce the temperatures in the affected areas. I made good templates in thin cardboard to gacheive accurate symmetry and took great care with the cutting of the plastic bumper and the 18 swg metal of the bonnet. I enjoy the DIY on these cars nearly as much as driving it. Feels good at my local pub when some guys say how good they look. Herbie. Speeding technology "v" fast car future?
herbiemercman replied to herbiemercman's topic in Supra Chat
Money can't buy, love, health or friendship, most other things are not a problem, the number plate fine would be likely to be circa £500 for a first offence, but could be a grand like Dunk points out, however it could be that avoiding losing your licence, and your job, making life difficult for your family etc would warrant forking out the dosh. I have been pulled over in the past for my IOM plates i was just told to change them within 5 days and then show at my local plod office, so eventually i fitted the full bs 145a plate at the rear as this is where they do the NPR checks. Herbie. -
Just to close this thread here is a pici to see my diy job i did yesterday, i also made a plastic 8mm thick cover for the battery which is located directly below the nearside louvre, i fitted the offside louvre for aesthetic symitary but it is also directly above the turbos conical air intake filter, it will just add a little cold air. The louvers are supplied with just open air slots, so to avoid rain water ingress i fitted a fine mesh which breaks the velocity of the water and creates just drips onto the water proofed items below. I think the car now looks cool and my battery should have a longer life. Herbie. BONNET LOUVERS.jpg (618.3 KB)
