    engine oil

I use Castrol Edge Sport 10w60. Halfords had it on website offer at 34.99 p/tub, may still be on offer As for changing the service schedule advise every 4,500miles for the oil service (turbocharged vehicles). However I change mine every 4 months, don't even get anywhere near that 4,500miles but I like the fact its changed and always clean. Also I'd advise against using engine flush if you have a few miles on the car, the flush can remove oil thats used to condition engien seals etc and affect your compression.
  2. If you've bought it, then its too late for my comment, however I'd personally buy a TT to begin with...... saves all the f*cking about and you will end up spend more on the conversion that you would have if you'd bought a TT in the first place.
  3. F*ck me, how can the seller be allowed to do that, especially if he is not the person that's the rightful owner of the photo to begin with and also has the permission from the people who have their number plates exposed in the picture. On top of that they'd need to be decent pictures like other members on here have rather than a pathetic stand up shot like that.

    Importing a Supra

You could always search the PistonHeads and Autotrader classified's. Also you could search the Supras for sale section on this forum. Then you have Jurgen JM Imports who has an astonishing reputation for a car dealer (no offence lol), he seems to be able to source some fine Supras and all customers appear happy with the service and the vehicles. Fwiw, I personally spent over 1 year looking for my Supra. Even went to some Import places like http://www.japperformanceuk.co.uk/jap/ thinking I'd have to settle for an import model. The cars here looked great on photo but in the flesh they left somewhat to be desired. A few of the Supra's I looked at at this place and also Keighly trade nearby, were sheds. Bodywork scuffs/marks not declared, dangerously low fluid levels etc. Also test drives were not given unless I put the money down to buy first I'd say stay away from these 2 places. I personally could never part with money for a vehicle that I have never seen or tested as it can be a nightmare to get the money back, so for importing I'd personally contact Jurgen JM Imports and have a chat and see if he can help you.

    Hi there

Welcome, the Integra is a lovely car, I used to love these years ago. If you decide to change to a Supra, you'll love it and there are plenty knocking around up Scotland, but be prepared to travel for the right car. I travelled from Notts > Aberdeen for mine and travelled around Yorkshire South London as well to go and view.
  6. very useful section this and some great articles, even retailer websites don't even explain what the device actually does. I considered getting one but having read this and being old fashioned I'll spend my money on something else.
  7. thats simply stunning............
  8. I have misfire, my threads lower down the page. Can this chap offer a mobile service to replace my ignition coil pack connector clip? Also where about in Notts is his garage?
  9. I drive around Nottingham all areas a hell of a lot, never seen this about on the roads, I thought I had the only TT in Notts lol. Sounds like a nice car, provided the vehicle has been maintained it'll be going strong regardless of the miles. I bought mine with 14,000miles on, every single MOT, service, consumable was done at Toyota from new and even on the day of collection the owner put a fresh MOT on at Toyota and allowed some extra items to be done that I requested on the off chance.
  10. these any good to you? http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-in-phase-xtc42-xtc62_p-21424.htm £149 ish a set, its what i'll be going for once i get my misfire sorted out.
  11. I do about 35,000miles a year as follows; bmw 328 - daily driver, use as much as possible C70 T5 - weekend motorway bruiser Supra - rare treat for the occasional motorway trips
  12. Didn't realise it cost that much for the singles, but my advice would be to pay that outright at purchase and try and source one which is either converted or a car that at the very least gives you a good starting point.
  13. FK 451 is an older version of the 452, the FK 451 will be fine

    Nightmare

Have a look on EDO zone http://www.edozone.com/toyota/supra_kits.html
  15. In your size, 265/30/19, Dunlop (same as Goodyear) do the Dunlop Sport Maxx with rim protection. I'd say go for either of the following and you'll be happy; Falken FK452 - premium peformer without the big price tag Dunlop Sport Maxx - premium brand, good all round performance and a bit quieter than the FK452. Michelin PS2 - always a superb performer and the most expensive, but generally not worth it overall in comparison to a Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetric. Sublime as the Continental Conti-sport contact 2 to drive on and the feedback is brilliant.
  16. I'll have a quick flick through my trade book, but from 'your' list, I'd personally only go for the Falken FK452.
  17. Great thread, whilst mine is stock and to be honest I'd love to keep it that way, I'm tempted to consider a 'modest' upgrade.
  18. We have a specialist tyre centre (yes a proper specialist place with the hi-tech equipment and contracts with Porsche, Jaguar etc + more). On our demonstration and my personal 328i, we run Falkens, the FK452 are great, longest wear rate, superb consistent wet/dry grip, excellent construction, with the only downside being that they will be a little noisy in comparison to the likes of Goodyear's Eagle and Conti Sport Contact. We also have the ZE512 and Ziex fitted on family cars. Michelin PS2 all round on my Supra at the moment, had them on other cars, great tyre, but you can get the same for less with the Goodyear Eagle F1 variants, which have been my all time favourite. Toyo - not a fan of these on the road, a good tyre but, overated with poor wear rates. Yokohama - had the AVS on an M3, due to an unexplainable overtstreer moment when driving normally amongst traffic, I had them removed and replaced with Goodyear F1's, no issues since. Also had these Yoko's on a Bently Flying Flying Spur (hire vehicle), not very impressed with the level of performance or feedback. Pirelli's - from experience, I'd say don't use them unless you know what you are doing. Great tyre, wears quickly, no where near as good as the FK452 or Goodyear/Michelins in the wet/damp/greasy conditions. In the dry they are very good and also easy to get warm in winter conditions but even when warm the cold Goodyears outshine them! P-zero directional (diretizone or something like that) up front with P-zero asymetic on the rear work well on some cars but again they are only good during the warmer weather. My opinion, the best would be the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetric. Flawless, consistent performance almsot down to the wear markers, work great from cold and they are extremely competitively priced, slotting closer to the FK452 range saving you having to splash out on Michelin's.
  19. Is there any way of telling which way round the wires should be?
  20. Thanks Homer. If it works great, if not, its a good place to start... I will keep you all posted on how things progress. If anyone knows anyone who can mechanically do this for me and is not far away, I'd be happy to pay for fuel & labour
  21. I did not remove the clip, don't know how to myself but, when my local mechanic did the plugs the black housing section was not securing the wires contained within.
  22. Happy birthday, hope the day treats you well!

    car covers

Here's mine fitted to my 95 TT, its a Voager, cost me £84 all in. Its semi-tailored, superb fit, under body securing straps, optional locking kit (extra 8.99). I have bought some cheaper ones but in the end, buy it right the first time, don't skimp and buy quality the first time round. Edit - forgot to mention this is the coverzone one, pictures don't do it justice - superb material, very light but tough, doesn't scratch my paint and also its breathable and easy enough to fold away into the carry case supplied etc.

    New Owner.

welcome, sounds like you are enjoying the car, these are seriously great cars and not one that you'll get bored of! enjoy!
  25. Firstly many thanks to all who are helping. Today I bought a set of allen keys and some tools, removed the plug cover and had a play with the coil pack connector clips. 5 coil pack connector clips are rock solid and seem good. 1 was very loose as we knew but my mechanic stated he'd ensured the wires inside it were secured to the coil connector. Started the car up, as soon as the misfire started to occur after about 1 minute of starting as the revs start to drop, previously the car was stuttering severly. Gave the loose connector clip and wires a wiggle and the misfire is still there but much smoother. Here's some pics to help. First picture shows the faulty (loose) clip. Its very loose (mechanic assured me the wires were securely connected, pehps the loose clip have disloged the wires inside). Its the second in from the front of the engine. Second picture shows the blob thing the clip connects to (under my screwdriver), where clip sits, the clip is just loose. I' have lifted the clip up a bit in this picture. Third picture I have pushed the connector clip down (poor quality photo) just so that you can see the connector clip is just omving about willy nilly. Next step - (now) order some clips from Garage Whifbitz - just ordered 3, only need 1 but will keep 2 spare. Nice quick service and good telephone manner from GarageWhifbitz. Does anyone know if any forum members who can mechanically do this repair would be willing to come to me (i'm in Nottingham), just 2 minutes off the M1 junction 25? I took a print out of the DIY guide linked to perform this repair to a local garage, they didn't even look at it and said that they'll do it their way, which is to get a spare loom, cut the section required and join it to my loom. Needless to say I just walked away. If they'd bothered to read the DIY i may not have been so insulted.
