  1. The great Gazoo, and what a winning racing moniker he makes. Obviously sounds better in Japanese. The car has some strange proportions and looks far too high. We will just have to wait and see, if it looks like the pic from grand tour, they win, sadly I don't think it will. Bmw make some great engines though, that might be the saving grace. Coming to a showroom near you.
  2. Looking good, will look fantastic in the car, I like your confidence booking a mapping date

    Carded!

Yes that was me, I think your car was a UK spec, and unsure if you were a member here I thought I'd find out. A mod here likes to collate data on UK's still on the road.

  5. Yeah it's just a generic name apparently. Summer Blend: Class 1 (min 79% ethanol) Spring/Fall Blend: Class 2 (min 74% ethanol) Winter Blend: Class 3 (min 70% ethanol) So you can see how people can get caught out. I don't use it very often, and my car pretty much topped the turbo out at 50% mix anyway.
  6. No problem, I just didn't want to make public comments about this and that when ultimately it's Shawn's builder/tuner who can decide, I'm unsure what mine is but I will take a closer look next time. This is just a copy paste from Google mate. But it explains why. For example, E85 sold during colder months often contains lower levels of ethanol to produce the vapor pressure necessary for starting in cold temperatures. For this reason, fueling site operators offering ethanol blends typically cannot carry over summer-blend E85 into the winter months.
  7. I use exactly what Lee tells me to use in the car Al, I told Shawn what that was and just told him to speak to his tuner about it. E85 is different (better) in summer than in winter, there's less ethanol in it, which has apparently caught a few people out
  8. Yeh there is a difference due to the summer and winter harvest, yeilds a different Ron. I will pm you
  9. I don't buy 'e85', I just buy pure ethanol and add it to the tank, let the flex sensor sort it out.
  10. Too many variables to consider with such little information, colour, mods, condition - what exactly leads you to know it needs £1500 spent on it? N/a aero's in top condition and preferable colour are probably worth 6k - take it from there.
  11. Another nice Na-T, clean looks and nice CCW's. Looks a good job on the underside, getting it done before it progresses.
  12. I'd probably pop up and meet you all at the Haynes on the way back if I'm not working, sounds like a good little trip, I've done all the roads myself and the 'atlantic highway' down the north coast of Cornwall takes in some great tarmac and towns.
  13. Nice car, there seems to be more and more Na-T projects kicking about now. I suppose as the cars is becoming more expensive to buy the viability increases, nice to see. Keep up the good work.
  14. Some more pedigree cars coming out of the stable this year Lee, can't wait to see the results
  15. So there is currently nothing wrong with the engine on the pallet? I'd rather run it until it lets go and just have a spare block on the side, much cheaper. You could raise the boost, plenty of people at 1.6 bar on stock rods. I think you would be better exploring turbo setups in honesty, something like a 6266, that SPL and a forged engine are overkill for a 600bhp target. It's definitely not cheap building an engine and you do want it done right. If it ain't broke, don't fix it as they say
  16. I'm interested in taking that. P.s your inbox is full
  17. Exactly that, it's a helpful community of opinions, advice and knowledge aslong as it's factual or constructive is why people come here. I like to think I'm young, does that count ? Heh. That's not what you said though is it... Nobody gave him just a 'yeah mate', there was some solid advice and nothing that cannot be reversed.
  18. I agree with you, my comments were blunt in delivery, but constructive and on topic. His rhetoric is predictable and constant and the element of truth isnt hidden in poor delivery, it's his dogma. There is a perverse amount of gratification being taken from the misfortune or change in circumstances of people and members at large. Nobody modifies their cars because they think they will get it back, they do it for the emjoyment. If you want to lock yours away and stare at it, that's also fine. Take his subframe rebuild thread for example - That is constructive. These comments? More than unnecessary so lock them away with your car Rider.
  19. It's to do with the bearings being unlubricated before the engine is cranked. When the clutch is applied it pulls on the crank and the dry thrust washers are in contact and will wear quickly, eventually the crank can walk. It's a problem for all of us. I don't know if the Supra had that safety feature but I remember reading that EVO's did and engines were failing, sounds like we might have read the same thread on Supra forums?
  20. Yeh I didn't either, I just remembered Dnk linking it the other day. The car has been great thanks mate, its been to Frankfurt, a lap of the ring, Rouen and honfluer, few runs at santa pod and even used for work for over a month while my daily was out of action. Hope to see yours finished at an event next year
  21. Carlos is asking the single guys for their opinion on his plans, not for someone asking everyone raise their glass pending 'another' breaking thread. Rider spends his spare time scouring the internet for single turbo sales and advertises them here as 'another 6spd dream', or pops up in members personal sales threads to diminish their cars credibility. His plans make fine economic sense, the kit is bolt on and can be bolted off and replaced by the original parts (which he can keep) anytime he wishes. THAT is a fact! Only one person is touting the superiority of their brand in here and its recurring like herpes, with unwanted regularity.
