sequential issue and going ttc ideas please
supraGZaerotop replied to supraGZaerotop's topic in mkiv Technical
hi . yeah the link pipes are those you mentioned yes. I bought all parts oem toyota. the link pipes i got of paul at whifbitz. and the vsv, yes the egbv is sitting above turbo 2 next to the intake pipe. easy to test the vsvs. i also did a little refresh around the hks bov, new vac hose and blanking cap. just be careful around the vsvs as they brittle new never mind old lol. when you start replacing the vac hoses you will probably break a vsv, they really are rubbish. i had one broken in the post!!! was replaced no problem. the link pipes are easy to do in situ, i had to cut the one close turbo 1 side tho because it was like concrete, new ones easy enough to push over just don't forget to put clips on first lol. but yeah the car feels amazing now, just perfect, im blown away how good it runs now to be honest. -
ive only used them once and found them bang on. great service. but like i said ive only used once so far

holy crap!!! the cars amazing. so much better, its a different car. i have not driven one this sorted in a long time and i actually forgot how they are suppose to drive like. im blown away , its that good, so responsive now its just goes like bloody cruise missle. egbv was tested and found dead as a door nail!! and my intake link pipes were in a shocking state!! previous to this i replaced the iavc vsv and egcv vsv , also replaced about 90% of vacuum hose, tighten down intercooler pipework. just feels like its just rolled off the line. i didint want to come home just now, but my fuel light came on -

I know believe I found my issue for sure, fingers crossed. pics to follow in coming days but my to link pipes were in a right state, the one that's closer to turbo 1 had more or less closed up!!!! my other issue was a vsv that I thought was the problem for a while now. ive literally replaced most things. so went about testing both the electrical and vacuum side, just goes to show don't just think its a certain vsv because you read on here, test them. egcv I replaced the other week thinking it must be that is actually fine lol now ive tested it, or well a spare, finally found when I tested my egbv it was dead! that's on order no. -
been down Toyota today to pick a load of bulbs up for my dash restoration. while I was there, I asked about the coolant lines, on with the parts computer again. there are 4 turbo coolant pipes in total, I ordered them all , £75 2 in this country , 1 in Toyota big warehouse in Europe and the other has to come from japan. there are 3 extra turbo bypass pipes looking at the computer I think, plus there are an 4 additional water coolant pipes. plus theres oil pipes for the turbos also. couple of hundred id imagine from mr T ,

that looks bad, I'm currently replacing lots of parts like this, replaced a good few now, just going to be a bit of a journey. most people would say if its not broke leave it, yeah but some things like this that are cheap enough and easy enough to change I'm going to change, and I mean everything, in time of course

ok thanks

great deal, i use autoglym heavy duty tfr as a prewash first, any tfr or apc will work great id imagine tho. you get a bottle a this after wax stuff with the chassis cleaner aswel.
-
hi do you have auto spoiler switch?

you dont have to use a karcher no. my washer is a nilfisk p150.2. i bought an adapter piece off ebay, karcher to nilfisk bout £15 . probably get them for most makes. i wouldint worry about the pressure, its a non issue. my nilfisk is a high end machine and one of the most powerful machines on the market £360 i paid for it, its 2.9kw, 150bar, 612ltr p/m flowrate, you get 3 different noozles with the chassis cleaner depending on the flow rate of your washer you change to the one's rated for your machine. it not powerful enough to damage nothing. that k4 be a machine. good price, think you can pick up the k5 in b&q for not mega money tho.
-
hi. yeah its like a coloured textured finish, like a hard stonechip. these karcher chassis are pretty if you can find them on offer. normal price is about £80 i think but you cannget them about £60 on ebay thanks

yeah ive used it twice on my supra and it has uncovered the nice red undercoat, all the years of dirty crap gone, i dont want to keep introducing water to the understand so i probably wont use it again now. cars garage on i dont take it out in the rain at all anymore as have a little shitbox for bk and forth work - - - Updated - - - thanks

put my auto tt in ttc the other week to test turbos. i was very impressed have to say. people say in ttc is flat etc. i found it fine, feel like a single turbo, starts to boost at around 3k-3.5k by 4k it flys. i really liked and was tempted to leave it. but as said in sequential its a different car, flys off the line, suprised what that first turbo does for the car.

my has the factory bilstens. I understand your never going to keep something 100% oem , just not realistic. I have no flare, my speedo has been changed to miles, delimited of course :-) impossible to have on the road with no fog. my brakes are stock , my stickers are still there lol, I disagree on price, I think they will rise a hell of a lot more than they are now, what this space this time next year. just because a car is not from the uk don't mean jack imo when it come to originality. take mine then, you couldn't even buy this model supra over here back in the day so hows that work! -
only time ive had a wax leave greasy finish is if you apply in the sun, some waxes i find tend to go greasy in the heat.

i have auto finesse illusion on my shelf along with harley wax if you anit tried harley you need to, i find its awesome, just do a panel at a time. also just picked up at waxstock is one of soft99s waxes called fusso coat- very impressed, best water behaviour ive seen in a wax. also try soft99 glass sealent called glaco, very very good. 50mph plus no wipers lol

ive always been one to look after anything i own. dont get me wrong i love the car, but the last couple years i for one and i bet many on here see the same with these cars. That is there is so many cars now so far from oem , to the purist its a major turn off. i like stuff as it should be, as it was created to start with, everyone seems to lust after anything that is rare! a stock oem car is fast becoming that very thing and people will imo always pay more for that in the end. im just a nostalgic kind of guy lol and stock oem floats my boat way more than a 1000hp supra- any day -
