  2. hi all, my car came with a hks ssqv, been on the car years. theres nothing wrong with it other than the fit has always bugged me a bit. find the hks fit is very close to the intake pipe and actually presses up against the link pipes. I just spent a few quid changing all these parts and so it thought I wanted something that fits in that space better while not rubbing up against other parts in my engine bay causing cosmetic damage over time. ive sort of made my own kit using a baileys dump valve and a pipe I bought and cut to size. the fit is pretty nice, I think I like it although I do like my hks, its hks right anyhow ive plumbed this lot in and it looks ok to me, ive not driven the car yet as I wanted some opinions on the bailey bov first. its this dump valve ok for the supra do you think, also I'm not sure if that filter thing that fits on the hks vac line kit is anything needed but ive not fitted it!!. here some pics. the last one is of my original config
  3. If it's the top right cluster you speak off then they suffer from dry solder joints and is a very easy fix
  4. Read this year's ago, great guide for sure with a lot of helpful info. Although seen as some of these cars are are now getting on for 25 year old I do think the guide is a little over critical! A lot of the guide is common sense stuff you would check on any car! Things like where it says about smoke on start up, these are old cars now lol, i dont drive mine much, trying to keeping the mileage down as it got about 112,000miles now. If i start my car up after a couple weeks mine smokes blue from cold, clears quickly . any old car will puff a bit, when I was using my car regular like every day it don't puff at all really. Main thing is I'd say is check for smoke from turbo.
  5. Discontinued by the looks of it. https://www.amayama.com/en/part/toyota/1770046350 http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_2002_TOYOTA_SUPRA_JZA80-ALFQZ_1703.html
  6. Thanks will have to get one for sure, pop down on weekend now
  7. do you lose much coolant when changing them?
  8. £73 and this is just the 4 turbo pipes,
  9. pipes in bad state, my old egbv crumbled when I took it off, lucky it was duff anyway. Then when I had a replacement in post which had the same damage, these vsvs are very fragile even new. - - - Updated - - - job done
  10. silly idea if you ask me. imo all vehicles that are fit/insured to use the public roads should be tested every year to ensure they are safe to be there. i for one want my cars mot'd why wouldn't you?
  11. here we go, some pics from my efforts lol. old to new whats the score with photobucket !!!!! cheek that company has, must have rubbed millions up the wrong way, f;'k um I ant paying nothing. what's the best free alternative
  12. hi, this is what i did. what issue have you got with your car ? no turbo? or lack of power - - - Updated - - - no problem
  13. rig a 12v wire from your battery and test the vsvs that way. they are 12v and it dont matter which way you test them. you will hear them clicking if theyre good. testing the vac side i bought a vac hand pump kit off ebay about £13 to see if they were holding pressure. you can then apply power to test the valve works perfectly then if you want to, but if they click and hold pressure theyre good to go so i wouldint bother buying a couple of sets as its probably only 1 of the 2 top vsvs at fault.
