Certainly looks like an attempt at a compound setup although not a well executed in terms of design/layout. Don't think that particular spark plug removal procedure is in the workshop manual though. -

If you be so kind. Was always under the impression that the non vvti equipped car's had incompatible looms which needed either A. Rewiring or B. Replacing altogether.

How much wiring changes were made? Just the engine loom or the entire dash/body loom?

Is there any room on the rear to get a puller on it?

Oh yes that first turbo is caput. -
And the moral of the story? There's always another car out there with a bigger penis than yours. 3 Bar on 10.1 isn't as absurd as it sounds either.

If you're gonna get an engine stand go for the 4 legged one like this. http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=251018517977&index=7&nav=SEARCH&nid=78101071496 It's much easier to move about especially on awkward surfaces which aren't flat or smooth such as your driveway!
