  1. How about an archos AV400 series portable video player/recorder. I got an AV420 yesterday for use in the car. Very nice gadget.
  2. They are larger, aren't they?
  3. I took up running in the summer. Have neglected it a bit over winter as it's too cold! When I started, I couldn't run for more than 2 minutes without getting totally out of breath. After a few months, I could do 6 miles!!! 2 miles was a bit of a barrier for me. Once I could get past that, I reallly started to pile the miles on. It's actually good fun too It seems to be very easy to pick up injuries. I avoided running consecutive days, and if I hurt a muscle I had at least a few days break. Decent shoes, and running on grass is good too. Hope that helps a bit.
  4. Does the Nur Spec R really set off that many car alarms? I only recall setting off a couple and i've had mine for about a year. Maybe i'm not trying hard enough!
  5. I got some from Whifbitz and fitted the ballast units under the headlights. They weren't too hard to fit, and I'm rubbish at that sort of thing! Definitely the best mod I've made to the car too.
  6. It's okay though, he's got a 14 day money back guarantee like Elizabeth Duke

Check that you've plugged the connector back in for the hazard light switch.
  8. I would just get an oversized plate. That's what most supras seem to have. I had to measure the gap quite carefully to get the plate dimensions right though. http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/albums/supra/IMG_3599.sized.jpg

The AP22 is cool. I wrote some software for it about 3 years ago: http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/telemetry.html In fact, it helped me get the job I have now I've used the AP22 in my last three cars and plotted this graph. Supra wins, of course http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/misc/CARS.gif
  10. I'd either say a very very low percentage, or no increase at all. There's no way the insurance company can verify what you say, so you might as well pay as little as possible. I had loads of insurance quotes and I think only Direct Line asked about actual power increases.
  11. Can anyone recommend a good garage in Cambridge that can service Supras? I don't know of any since Totally Custom closed down. Cheers.
  12. Hey, that's cheating! I don't think you've got the standard auto gearbox (or standard anything ) I wonder what determines how quickly a car reaches its Vmax, given that a more powerful car has a higher Vmax? For example, would your supercar (if de-limited) reach its Vmax any faster than a stock supra reaches its Vmax? I'm assuming here you don't hit the limiter in top gear before you run out of power.
  13. I would expect the auto to be slighly down on power (to the wheels), so also have a lower Vmax. So if you're just interested in acceleration, then you'd want to know the time between two fixed speeds in order to compare the cars. The manual takes longer to change gear (and there's more gear changes), but this would be insignifant if you're comparing times of more than a few seconds. As the gears in the manual are closer, it will more often be at the right spot in the rev range too. Therefore, I would expect the manual to accelerate a bit faster over the long run you're describing. Welcome from Pistonheads by the way Are you going to buy a Supra? James.
  14. I'd say if he likes Audi TTs then he's beyond help
  15. Doesn't your Internet Service Provider give you any?
  16. Hello, welcome and happy xmas! Can't remember exactly what BPU includes. It's pretty arbitrary. I think it's: - remove cat(s) - aftermarket exhaust - induction kit (maybe - not required) If you have these, you'll also probably want: - fuel cut defenser - colder spark plugs - restrictor ring in exhaust (for Jap-spec cars) - medallion I'm in Sheffield too, in Crosspool at my mum's house. Whereabouts are you? James.
  17. Happy Christmas everyone!!! White Christmas in Sheffield http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/albums/misc2/IMG_4352.sized.jpg
  18. In the bottom left corner, does it say "Connecting to Network". It so, it hasn't connected. Also, if you have a router you usually have to forward a port to your computer (I think it's 6346), otherwise you get less (or no) results.
  19. A good one is: http://www.shareaza.com And on the same subject, does anyone know of a good bittorrent site now suprnova has shut down?
  20. Thanks! I'll get a new radiator cap and see if that fixes it.
  21. Hey! That's the second time I've identified the suspension on that car Please stop asking about it
  22. Looks like Tein suspension.
  23. I checked my coolant level the other day and it was below the low mark, so I filled the expansion tank back up to full. Checked again a few days later and it was back to below the low mark again. It's done this a couple of times now. I did a quick search and someone had suggested checking the radiator cap (the rubber bit looks okay - but I don't really know what to look for), and the oil filler cap (which also looks okay to me - no gunge or anything on it). The level in the radiator is nearly up to the top when cold. Any ideas what the problem is? Might it need a new radiator or a new water pump or something? Are these really expensive? Cheers James.
  24. Ah ha! You only get the "View New Posts" button when you are logged in.
  25. Oh yeah I'm *sure* that wasn't there when I looked
