  1. Go and drive it properly and use the brakes!!! James.
  2. I'll take a photo of them tonight Nick. James.
  3. I'd like something like that, but I don't really see how different door sills would fit on, as the standard plastic bit is all ridgey. Would the sills replace the standard plastic bits, or would they stick over the top? (euughhh) James.
  4. Good meet. Nice to meet some more people. Sorry I didn't get a chance to talk to you Justin. Ant and Rich - saw you in the layby on the A10. Hope you weren't broken down and were just squabbling about who's car is fastest again James.
  5. Me and nick will be there shortly after 7:30pm. James.
  6. I thought the Supra had a 53/47% weight distribution? By the way, I have a spare 200SX (Boy) carpet if it's any help James. http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/misc/carpet.jpg
  7. Maybe because it's easier and safer to go in a straight line. I love my car for the twisty bits (probably more than the outright power) but there's so little opportunity to use it in this situation. Whenever I go to up to Sheffield to see my family, I also make a point of driving into Derbyshire because the roads (and the views) are fantastic in the Peak District. I do feel the Supra is a little wasted in Cambridge. Also, when it comes down to it, the Supra is big, heavy car. If we totally went for handling over power, then we'd be a Lotus Elise forum James.
  8. I have these mats too and would like some replacements as they are pretty worn out. The logo is rubber rather than stitched on. Have attached a picture although it isn't a very good one. James.
  9. Sure, I'll be along and will pick Nick up. Wouldn't want to subject anyone to driving that Passat for longer than absolutely necessary And yep, the food is nice there so i'll be eating. James.
  10. I can definitely recommend Totally Custom. The mechanic there has serviced both my cars and fitted coilovers to my Nissan. He gave the Supra a full service which included the correct Denso iridium plugs and Toyota coolant. Do bare in mind that they only have powered milk in their coffee though James.
  11. I got mine done at Car2Tint in Huntingdon, which is a bit far away for you to go! They did a very good job though and my car is on their website: http://www.car2tint.co.uk/gallery4.htm James.
  12. TRY HERE: http://HTTP://WWW.WHIFBITZ.CO.UK/SUPRA-INTERIOR.HTML JAMES.
  13. Well I wrap a bit of velcro round the circular vents which isn't very good so I'd like a better solution too. I've seen PDA mounts for sale but they usually require horizontal slats. I expect they would work on the passenger vents, but they are too far away. Mark, I have sat nav on my pocket PC. It's a lot cheaper than a dedicated car system and can be transferred between cars James.
  14. Mine was filled with R134A a few weeks ago. I think R134A is printed on a label on the underside of the bonnet. James.
  15. Loads of jap-spec supras have the mystery box under the drivers seat, although it doesn't appear to be standard equipment. I posted a thread about it ages ago: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6595 Consensus was that it looks to be some kind of transmitter/receiver perhaps for an alarm, tracking, pager or tolls. That doesn't narrow it down much James.
  16. maybe here: http://www.scratchesandscuffs.com/main.htm James.
  17. I had a new windscreen a couple of months ago and the guy at RAC auto windscreens said Toyota's retail price for a mkiv supra windscreen is over a grand! But in reality no-one pays anywhere near that. It was 50 quid excess for me on the insurance. James.
  18. Wow! That's an awesome time. Do you have a webpage or anything about the car? I think everyone would like to know more about it James.
  19. Top stuff! If I'm reading the right bit, it looks like the OZ superleggeras are significantly lighter than the standard supra alloys. 17x8 OZ are 16.5lbs! James.
  20. Thanks Tannhauser, they do look good. I guess 18" alloys have a much better chance of going over UK brakes than 17" ones. These are the ones I like (in 17" form). I wouldn't mind too much if they don't fit over UK brakes, as I probably won't upgrade them - the jap brakes are quite good with decent aftermarket pads. James.
  21. I'm after a new set of alloys for my supra as my mechanic has informed me the centre bore is incorrect for the car. The weight is taken by just the wheel studs!!! These were on the car when I bought it, and i've never taken the wheels off the car myself to notice. I think I'll be staying with 17" alloys as I want it to handle properly Does anyone have OZ alloys on their supra? I'd be grateful for any pictures anyone has of supras with these on (it's the multi-spoke ones I like). The "OZ Superleggera Race Silver" alloys look really nice. Any ideas if UK brakes fit under these (if I upgrade to them in future) and how much they weigh compared with standard UK 17" alloys. Cheers, James.
  22. Strangely, my D light stopped working just after I bought the car. I got used to it and didn't think any more of it. ...until almost two years later! It fixed itself last month while I was driving. I remember putting the car into neutral while going along a road because I thought I was in second So maybe it could be a loose connection behind the dash, instead of a blown bulb? James.
