  1. Some good prices there, I didn't think I could get cheeper than Camskill, but they are.
  2. Getting to the bolts tween, 1st cat and exhaust gas control valve (EGCV), and some of, either, the bottom of the joint of turbos and manifold, or manifold and engine. I say it like that because I found it easier to unbolt the manifold from the engine and crane/lift the whole thing out, (EGCV, 1st and 2nd turbos and exhaust manifold) it can be lifted out by two people but easier and safer with crane, once out it's much better to strip down. I would advise you change all the gaskets and all the vac hoses and any other hoses you can get too, it is quite an involved, long, and sometimes difficult job (physically) but it's not technically difficult. What "Mellowman" said, I had to cut down and bend a bit, a 14 mm spanner, probably best to do this as you come to it though, you may get away without it. Either take lots of photos or jot down what goes where and why, make sure you don't loose any bits.

  4. Yeh, now that I look carefully I can see that now, old eyes are shit.
  5. Just booked a TomTom XXL on line at Halfords pick up Friday, I was suprised at how little it cost, I'm fed up with having the worry of getting lost, all I need now is a "techie" to load the files when they are done.
  6. Hi Stephen, and wellcome to "The club", we need lots more information than that, and pictures, we thrive on pictures, get your membership paid if you haven't already then get stuck in there, don't look at the for sale section though or you will find that you have money seepage.
  7. Jake, I hate to tell you this, but it looks like you have an infestation at your place, there's a black, brown, white piggy thing running around in the background of you pictures. Cute. Looks like your v busy, hope it works out ok.
  8. Congratulations, once you have given it some TLC and a good service with some good fluids you'll grow to love it, is it BPUed yet? if not you have even more surprises to come. Oh! by the way if you look to the left of the Auto changer you will see a button called manu, if you press this it will enable you to use 1st, 2nd, 3rd gears manually using the Auto changer, which gives you more control over when you change gear. Welcome to the club.
  9. Think I've done it, won't uncross my fingers till I see my name on the list.
  10. We stayed in the "Nh Cappelle Hotel Rotterdam", on DB12, but I don't know if it is the same Hotel this time, I hope it is, it's a little way out from Rotterdam but it was a great Hotel for the DB.
  11. Nice one Steve, let us know when you want money.
  12. look up black death on search and go to my thread, I would rather burn the car/van than go through that again.
  13. The sunshine! look at the sunshine, it hurts my eyes, besides that welcome to the club, enjoy.
  14. Also just reolised that this is the Easter bank holliday weekend, so this may put a stopper on for me, have to see nearer the time.
  15. The last one to F&F 6 was good, and if we could get a run into London it would be fun, anything else would be a good bonus, i'm not at work that day too, so I'm in.

    Turbo trouble

You could change just one, but it would be better to change the set, with one of them failing you don't know what stress that has caused the other, plus it would be less work to replace the whole thing rather than bits. There are quite a few single builds going on so I wouldn't have thought it would be too hard to get a decent second hand set for a reasonable price.
  17. how much oil is there in the pipes? are the new turbos just a second hand set, or refurbed, or new? a very slight film isn't a problem but if there is lots, especially after fitting new or refurbed, then you have a problem. I don't know how your car was running ok if the E G C V was stuck one way or the other, it should open and close as you go from 1st to 2nd turbo and back again.
  18. I don't think It will be any of those, but I'm going to have a look at all/any suggestions this weekend, I think I'll just jack it up and strip it down see if there is anything obvious, there is nothing apparent when giving it a good torching, its funny though, because there is no pull on the steering when braking at any other speeds, plus this does not happen in reverse. Thanks for the suggestions.
  19. Premier Inn booked, think I want to try a "posh" Hotel this time, here we are, booking up before the prices and tickets have even been decided on, and whether we get one or not.
  20. I have uk brakes on, and during normal speeds (both in a straight line or cornering) I have no problem, but when going at slow speed, braking and turning (eg, parking), the passenger side front brake seems to bind, and makes a graunching sound, once you straighten out it goes. Does anyone know what is causing this, or how I can sort it. Thanks.
