  1. On the railway station side of Bedford. Plastered in big silver graphics and heavily tinted windows.
  2. Just going to post that we saw this too....about 12.45 on M20 between Maidstone and Ashford. Got the thumbs up from the passenger in the van towing the trailer. The van had Dutch plates on it I think. It was right smashed up though, look like it had gone head on into something like a tree or lampost.
  3. Can't do the 14th, it's my boss's wedding!.... I guess there is no rush to fit my supercharger now then.
  4. Rosie, Polos and Ts and maybe shorts and hoody

  6. Has anyone ever stripped a alternator from a supra down? Or, has anyone got an exploded view diagram I could have? Reason I ask is that I need to to get a PTO from the back of the alternator to drive something else. I was planning to modify a alternator from a diesel engine which has a vacum pump on the back for my purpose, but if I can modify the standard supra alternator this may more suitable in the long run. Cheers.
  7. I too am thinking of getting one of these, I have bought a Eaton M62 blower and this would really make the mounting easy compared with the other options I have right now. I have seen these advertised a few times recently but have always been a bit dubious of the quality for the price they seem to sell at.
  8. Garmin C510 is great, cost me £149 and I reckon it is great, easy to use and FULL post code. Some of the cheaper ones don't use the full post code and take you near to where you want to go rather than right to the door. Also another member on here has subscribed to a site which provides camera updates which I have tried and works well. Camera comes with Garmin's own camera alerts and you get free updates from them for the first 12 months. Has some really nice features and would reccomend it. Also I have finally managed to get the Worls maps from a P2P site and git it to run. tried it out in France last week and works well. For just £149 I can't reccomend it enough. Shane
  9. Eaton M62 with various bit of pipework and bypass valve. Plan is to either, mount it where the AC compressor is and move the PS pump, or mount it on top of the engine and modify the bonnet. Hoping to run about .4 bar of boost initially and go from there. It's quite a big bit of kit and the biggest problems at this stage at least are mounting. As my engine is stock I will be fitting AFR and boost gauges to keep an eye on things. Good news is.....it finally arrived yesterday!
  10. Whoooooo hoooooo!!!! Sent a stroppy email to the seller today via paypal and this evening got one back saying that the supercharger had been sent via parcelforce 48 today and moaning that the postage cost £26. So looks as though I may not have been ripped off after all.
  11. That is so true, Clarkson admits he knows nothing about cars other than driving them. Good piece of footage and well done Fishman for sharing it.
  12. I have just bought an Eaton M62 supercharger (if it ever arrives), assuming it is in good nick and I can find somewhere under the bonnet to mount it, this may be a cheaper way to get more power. I think the biggest problem I have to encounter and work out is, do I move the PS pump and get rid of the A/C compressor and mount it there, or do I put a stupid bulge affair in the bonnet. Hope to have it up and running with a max boost of 0.4 bar by late spring. If it works I will let you know, if it doesn't I will hold my head in shame and cry.
  13. Here's the latest, I have recieved a message via Ebay messages (bit strange as I did the deal outside Ebay, but at least it's a response) from the bird who originally listed it:- Hi, I am so sorry not to have been in touch sooner. I have been away and my boy friend who has the supercharger has just started a new job so been totally hectic. I am going to box it up this afternoon and send it either today or tomorrow. Thank you for your patience and please accept my apology? I will email you when its posted. Yours, So, have to wait and see but at least it's a step in the right direction. Amazing isn't it that they didn't reply to emails until I started down the dispute route. But at the end of the day all I want is what I paid for and not to lose the cash so if this is what it takes thats fine.
  14. Yep that's correct, Lucas/CAV pumps dont like it at all. Been running various engines on veg oil for a while now and certain types of pumps don't like it but others can cope with up to 100% all the time. Have a mate in Romania who grows fields of sunflowers for his bees and also runs his Mk1 Golf on the oil they produce. Compare that with a Uno I tried it on here and the pump gave up pretty quickly using pre heater and SVO/Diesel mix in conjunction with a pre heater. At the moment though am using a Corsa diesel and before that had a Nova diesel. Both with the Isuzu engine and they run on SVO with just a pre-heated filter. Used Merc vans with no probs. and when I worked and lived in South West Romania I ran a 3 litre Nissan Patrol for ages on all sorts of rubbish and apart from the banjo joint filter in the pump inlet waxing in extreme cold I had no probs. The guy I sold it to before I left still runs the same engine now in a agricultural machine 5 years on.
  15. Lets hope you are right. I realise that 10 days is not a lot of time, I have sold things on ebay myself and because of work or whatever I have delayed on shipping them, but, this guy will not reply to any emails. If he said sorry for the delay but will send it next week, then fine but I have never had a word since he said he recieved the cash. Have opened a dispute, but tried to keep an optomistic tone in the first stage. Will keep you posted.
  16. Think they are all pretty crap mate. Been with NTL, BT and now talk talk and had hassle with them all. Customer service and broadband doesn't really seem to go together it seems. I would give a brief account of the conversations I seem to have on a regular basis with Raja and his mates in the Talktalk Indian call centre, but after all the fuss Jade Goody's comments I daren't!
  17. OK, 10 days ago I saw something on fleabay I wanted. The end date was while I was going to be working away and didn't want to lose it. So I contacted the seller and negotiated a buy it now price. Sent the cash via paypal (Paypal called me to confirm it was a genuine transaction) to the seller who took it off ebay. I received an email the next day from the seller saying it was her boyfriend's item and gave me his email address. Wrote to him asking if he had received the cash and when would he send it. He replied he had received the cash and that he needed my address to ship the goods. I sent him the shipping address and asked again when could I expect to receive it and have heard nothing since. I have written several times to both the ebay seller's email and the email address of the boyfriend and have heard diddly squat, and obviously have not received the goods. Have opened a dispute this eve via paypal but to be honest last time I recovered only a fraction of what I had paid when I tried to get money back for a non sent ebay item. Toruble is this time it was £320!!!! I work too many long hard hours to be ripped off this amount. Anyone here had similar problems and managed to get them resolved?
  18. I am afraid this is wrong. Used oil contains water, loads of it. As well as carbons and all other manner of stuff you don't want. This is why WVO is treated the way it is. First it is warmed to seperate the water, the oil rises and then the water is drained. Most people who do this use a baby burco type of heater, then you can just open the tap and get rid of the water. Evertime you cook in oil moisture comes out of the food and gets left in the oil. This is why dirty oil always gives off steam when boiled and clean gives of only a fraction.

  20. Hi, I have been using various diesels on veg oil for a few years now and this is what I have found: Fiat engines, not so good, oil has to be thinned way too much to be practical and they just didn't like it generally, the last one I played with I had to use an electric pre heater as well as a heat exchanger in winter months, that was an old Uno with a CAV pump. Merc vans, had 207, 208 and 308. All fantastic, ran 100% SVO with only an addition electric pre heater to ease starting. One of the vans I did probably over 50,000 miles all over Eu. including some of the colder climes. Bear in mind the older Merc diesel car runs pretty simular engines to the older vans, I know this as I have swapped them. Nissan patrol,(older straight 6) fantastic seems to run on about anything the olny prob I had was the filter in the union of the pump used to wax up in extreme cold, but by that I mean days of minus temps in the Romanian hills. Vauxhall, Novas and Corsas. Depending on what engine you pick these are great. The Vauxhall engine seems to work with 100% in summer ok, never dared run it in winter months at that level as they come with a CAV pump and everyone reports pump failure in the cold and at the time I couldn't afford the risk, but who knows. However the Isuzu engine which loads of vauxhalls use is it seems indestructable, in fact I am running one of these now in a Corsavan and this has ben run on everything from SVO to parafin without hiccup, The only addition to stock is an electric pre-heated filter taken from something else. This was simply wired across the existing glowplug supply, but be careful with this method as sometimes the glowplug heating circuit is running quite close to it's max current rating anyhow and it's worth measuring the current draw before adding extras on this circuit to be safe. Have never bothered going down the WVO lane as I dont have the time really, but have a mate who does and it seems to work well. Another mate of mine grows fields of sunflowers in romania to enhance the honey his bees produce and he has just started producing his own oil, he uses a MK1 Golf which is on it's 3rd time round the clock, seems to be fine but because of poor filtering techniques we have had to add extra in line filtering and this has become bit of a problem with filters blocking. Let me know how you get on and what you decide upon. I am sure you know anyhow but there is loads and loads of info available. Good luck.
  21. I had bad journey in and out of work today. First Kings Cross tube was closed this morning, then tonight Picadilly line was stuffed up and I ended walking up to Green park and catching the Vic line back Then when I got to St Pancrass it was heaving and loads of cancellations etc. Left office in central London at 4.45 and got home at 1945. Crap day, but hey least I got home tonight, loads didn't I guess. Joys of commuting eh.
