  1. It is my personal opinion that this guy may well be a muppet. As I live in Northants, these guys were on my short list to map my car, but after reading toquicktostop's story and seeing how Dan carries out his business...nah. Shame really as they could have been part of the story of the first uk supercharged Supra.
  2. Saw a black one by the old police station about 11am ish and then a silver one parked up by the huge LED screen next to Jackson field. I have a photo of this one I can send if it's you.
  3. You don't need to worry too much about payment mate. If you need a hand let me know. But was a little confused from your first post as to what you want to do with the discs?
  4. RIP, feel for the guy and his family. Never got the chance to meet him, however I can really remember how pleased I was when I saw his paint thread. It was only a couple of weeks ago when I took this picture at Pod. I stood with Lui chatting about it saying how much I liked the look and was pleased that he had lost the wheel centres since he had created his original post. http://s137.photobucket.com/albums/q220/shaneg7ewl/?action=view&current=DSCF0107.jpg Makes you think eh.
  5. The streets of Sheffield echos to the cries of "super, smashing, great" as Bullseye's speedboat winners finally get the chance to use the f*.*ker!
  6. Yeh...it's god moving in mysterious ways!

    Shower Pump

Don't want to mockers on your sale mate, but you might want to re-think your starting price, have a look at this: http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?cId=A334831&ts=23129&id=46231 And this has a 2 year warranty also.

    eurospec200

They are approved agents for MAP ecus and I had a long chat with one of them, can't really remember if it was Ben or Mark when I first started looking at my supercharger mod. He seemed really helpfull and keen, but maybe he was hoping for a sale and subsequent install/tune. In fairness I called to speak to him and left my mobile number and he called me back twice and spent ages on the phone both times at his expence talking the options through. In FTO circles he is quite well known it seems.
  9. Well the more I find out about this the more I am sure that I am going to have to buy a Emanage or possibly a Mapecu. CW said in another thread that I should be putting in somehting that gives me timing control, Ian C. thinks the Emanage would suit my application well and now you confirm that I can dial in a bit of retard. Seems this is the way to go, after all I would be a bit like Ken Clarke in the 80s otherwise eh? Many of the guys in the states who have gone NA-T seem to stick with SAFC and stock ECU and seem quite happy so long as the boost is kept relatively low and this was what steered me along this path, that and cost anyhow. So anyone have a emanage set up for a really good price? Can PX a really nice SAFC2 towards it;) Seriously though, thanks to everyone so far who has given me advice with this project, and am very glad that my efforts and post so far has attracted so much attention, cheers.
  10. I promise that I will try not to sneak about too much. FOR SALE: One SAFC2, no longer required it seems.
  11. Ian thanks for this info. If I was to use a MAP sensor that would give a meaningful reading with positive boost would the SAFC2 be an option then? Just saying in a pm to DB that initially I would like to get it up and running at low boost using the least amount of add ons and expense. Once I am happy that it is going to work and be reliable, then I will procceed onto the next stage would would almost certainly be a Mapecu or emanage. Little reluctant at this stage to keep dishing out until I know this is all going to come together.
  12. Ta, Initially I am looking for anything substantial over stock NA, 275/300 rwhp would be a nice target point for the first round of mods.
  13. There was a guy on here some time ago in Belgium or Holland I think who was going along these lines. Don't know if he ever finished it though. Bear in mind I have mounted mine where the turbo normally sits so you would really struggle to get both in. But, you relocate the PAS res and/or get rid of the ac pump and stick something on that side. I guess the possibilities are pretty much endless, determined mainly by cash and time.
  14. The XS power kit looks great and is in the £100s. Leaves a lot of scope for fueling and management. But I really wanted something a bit different and this was one of the reasons I decided to go the route I have.
  15. TBH, I doubt it. To date I have spent about £900 and still have loads more to do. Saying that though, the fabrication of the mounting bracket cost quite a bit and I guess subsequent brackets wont be as expensive as the angles and methods have all been worked out. Also as I have said previously, I should have spent more time looking at alternators which had, or could be modified to provide a decent PTO at the back. This would have saved space and also meant that the extension shaft and bearing would not have been required. When it is all done I will do the sums and post the results. But, will it ever stop raining so I can get out there? Very frustrating as I have planned this project since last year and have been waiting to get it underway.
  16. Ian, thanks. I will probably PM you at some point to pick your brains and extensive knowledge. One of the reasons I went down the SAFC2 route was because many of the NA-T people have gone this way and it was reccomended as a low cost way when using low boost. Eventually I would like to use the LINK2 as I like the sound and spec on this as well as the price. Anyhow for now there are many other things to take care of, but it is progressing and I have next Friday and Monday off to spend a bit more time on it. If it ever stops raining that is!

    Tabasco Sauce

Encona original IMO is the best, I am sure it is addictive, strange thing though the neck of the bottle gets crusty..... So does your bum after a few days of of eating it.
  18. Not sure I follow you regarding what you want to do with the disc? But the pad change is pretty much straight forward and you follow the same procedure as most other cars. Nice thing on ours is that unlike a lot of modern cars you don't need any special tools to push the piston back. If you get really stuck or are worried about doing it yourself, I may be able to lend a hand but you would have to bring your motor to mine.
  19. Yes maybe, I have read on the NA-T forum that as Nic says earlier in the thread, that the MK3 440s are a direct drop in upgrade to for the 330s in the mk4. So you are saying that the mk4 440s are also a direct replacement. I thought that the 440s from the Mk4 were side feed and could not be used with the NA fuel rail. Very confused now.
  20. Silver, Waitrose Rushden. Parked next to you in Red. Was it you?
  21. If there is no fault code stored, there is every chance your brake fluid is just a tad low. However if you fill it right up bear in mind when you change your pads you may find you have too much in and will have to lose some. I had this problem a few months ago and it was CW who diagnosed it correctly.
  22. Probabaly, didn't book in advance as I may be either working away or get the go ahead to take some holliday. Had a lot going on at work lately and spending loads of time working away in France. But if at all possible I will be there.
  23. The supercharger is mounted on 2 layers of 10mm mildsteel with an air barrier to minimise direct conduction. Also there is no direct contact between the exhaust manifold and the supercharger. What you can't see from the photos is the bracket supporting the sandwich plates the supercharger is mounted on. Dont forget also this is designed to sit in the V of a V engine. Superchargers by their very nature dont get as hot as turbos, which also sit in the same position as mine and have no heat barrier but direct conection to the exhaust manifold. With the low boost I will be initially running a intercooler should not be required. Should I start running serious compression at a later date from then I will intercool. I have most of the pipework to do this. Should point out that the outlet flange can and will most likely be positioned differently on the charger.
