  1. I know, little sod. he has been trying to network his machine with mine and then use my broadband connection. he said that the firewall was stopping him from doing something or another and he had to disable it for a minute. We used to have NTL broadband and a ethernet router to connect both machines, but i changed provider to talktalk and the modem has only USB so to get both machines working he did it this way.
  2. The software I am using is f-secure which is recommended when you first install and log on to talktalk broadband. It updates supposedly all the time, detects viruses and spyware and provides a firewall. Up until now it has been great. But now I am not so sure. It could just be that the PC became infected for the really short time he disabled the software, but that seems a bit unlucky doesn't it? Just done a full pc scan and it found a malware and disinfected it,on re-boot it seemed to be ok. Will let you know how it goes over the next day or so. Thanks for your help guys. Certainly seemed to boot up a bit quicker.
  3. Hi Paul, Thanks for that. Bit double dutch to me but get the idea. Yes it is in system32 so thats something at least. Dont really want to have to buy more security software though. Noticed machine seems to be much much slower between functions, but maybe am being paranoid.
  4. Yesterday my son disabled the firewall and virus software on my PC so he could do some stuff to get his PC talking to mine or something. Anyhow he has now put it all back together and everytime I boot up the Talktalk security software thingy flashes up as the desktop appears and tels me that SVCHOST is trying to connect and is maybe a virus etc. Looking on google I am sure it is. So I ran the scan part of the security software and it found a virus (but not svchost), deleted it and I re-booted it and of course it did the same thing again. Anyone know what I should be doing to get rid of it? I wouldn't care but he is a 3d programming wizard and knows about this shit and has pissed off to the pub!
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-qO8Oywpas Longer clip here, and one the group of pheasants seeing him off towards the end says twice "imi pare row" which means in Romanian, I am very sorry. So guys looking at this you can see that obviously Romania has been well prepared for joining the Eu. on Jan 1st. Bet the Romanian government won't want too many people to know it was filmed there. Anyhow, back on topic, looks like it will be a good film, may go and see it after work one night next week.
  6. Yeh me too. Just watched the clip and I am absolutely sure, that the clip was filmed in Romania. The car being towed is a Dacia, unique to Romania as far as I know. It was launched in France in the 70s and when Renault gave up on the production of it there, the complete plant was sold to Ceacescu (who I understand never honoured his deal with Renault, and Romania produced it for about another 25 years! You still see loads of almost new ones cruising around the country, really surreal. Anyhow looking at the buildings, people and cars, I reckon it was filmed in Romania. Think I read somewhere recently that Sasha Baron-cohen has never been to Kazakistan so it cant be there.
  7. Look on youtube, loads of great stuff like that. "my perfect cousin" What a track. Bad mother's pride haircut though in the undertone days, thing is it would have been bad even then! Just shown my bird a video clip of Wilko Johnson when he was in feelgood on youtube and another of the sensational Alex Harvey band, she thinks I am mad. But there again she was only 2 when I was travelling up and down the country to watch them! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMvc4scaApg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IEvZz6zvNY
  8. Welcome to the forum mate. Bet someone will mention your missus and the tenner every time you post now!
  9. Yeh yeh, guess it's a re-post, but I have only just seen it and it made me laffff!
  10. Yes I know, I should have read the title. "Sky BY broadband" different thing again. I was talking Sky broadband. Yes I am a muppet.[OOPS][/OOPS]
  11. There are two types. Broadband over satellite (sky/astra) and Sky broadband. Sky broadband is a ADSL service being rolled out by Rupert, but at present only available in major cities. This will be free for Sky satellite subscribers. However if you apply now and are not in the right area you get offered the chance to pay for it and bassically get sold a BT broadband connection with a sky badge. No thanks! Broadband over satellite though is a different thing, WOOSH! You still need a outgoing dial up though if you go either the Astra or Eutelsat route.
  12. Cheers, thanks for that. Neither do I, that's why I asked in the first place. But look at this one, this shows the camera can be fine sometimes, most of the time in fact. http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q220/shaneg7ewl/SIMG0224.jpg

  14. Guys, every now and then I have problems with photos I take. They appear all pshycadelic and look like I have have been taking LSD. Normally when I take them in say the office under tube lighting, doesn't seem to matter if I have the flash on or off. All the peak whites come out as a silvery green. Any clues would be welcome. BTW, camera is a Jenoptik JD4100 4.1MP. I know it's not the best but normally takes good shots. I did try to upload some to the post as examples but they were too big. Is there a way of attaching photos to the post when they are larger than 240K?
  15. I run mine on supper unleaded from Tescos mainly. I have on more than a few occasions had to put either normal 95, optimax and ultimate in and it has always seemed fine. I have noticed that when I have used optimax that it doesnt seem to go as far though, but could be imagining that though. I would say either it was a crap lot, but nowadays I don't think that is really likely. More likely is that you have another problem with the car that came to light about the same time as you put the ultimate in.
  16. Send Roy "SatSport" a PM he did have some new ones for sale earlier this week. Cant remember if he had both, front, or rear. But he pmed me after a similar post from me at the wekend. Worth a try.

    Brake pads.

Now that sounds like a deal!! Yep looking at the text it seems that they will fit mine as it clearly says N/A and I think I am right in saying all NAs are jspec. I have 16" wheels so I know mine are jspec disks. I can fit Chris's in the meantime to keep me going. Paypal ok?

Well I used to, but how would that change things?
  20. I would like to be done by her as well.....but not after you, before.
  21. Hey Trev, Do you have Sky? If so look out for Miami Ink on 250/251.
  22. I have a tribal band around the top of my arm, that only really hurt when they got to the soft under arm flesh. 1 x 3 " reckon about 20 to 40 mins dependant on the person doing it. If you are scared of needles, just dont watch it being done. Anyhow its not like a long syringe style needle, most of the needle is out of sight. Make sure you have eaten before you go and take something like a mars bar with you to boost your sugar levels if you feel dodgy, during or afterwards. Cant advise on Portsmouth, but there is two really good places around here. There is a guy on the forum with most of his upper body covered, now that must have took ages. Good luck, show us the results after you have it done.

    Road tax rant

Yes what Simon says is true, most never register as it's not enforced. But, the fact is we allow foreign plated cars here on our roads without tax, whether they are here for an hour or 2 years. One of the "advantages" of the UK road tax system and centralised record system is that it is impossible to tax a car without MOT and insurance and proof of registration records. So with that in mind how many people are now running around with no insurance etc and the police have no way of knowing, or at least in the same way as they do with us? Loads I suspect. We should take a leaf out of their own country's book and make em pay as they arrive, recording their details so if they havn't registered in the 6 months it becomes obvious. Their registration details should be added to the DVLA's database so when the registration No. recognition software fitted to traffic cars now see the unregistered car it flags up. In the same way as it does for our UK registered vehicles.

    Brake pads.

Thanks Nic, as a brake upgrade is on the cards anyhow at some point I didnt really want to spend as much for the interim period. So how much cheaper are the OEM pads? Just down to money really, spent more than I wanted to this month and now the brakes have gone a bit thin. Cheers, Shane
