  1. Thanks, I'll give you big kissed next time I see you. Night night - Looking forward to shopping tomorrow
  2. I tried looking but all I get is clio disks Edit: Hurry up, I want to go to bed
  3. Totally aware of that but found that toyota brakes warped even without that. Had the same problem on my old RS4 and Audi had to change them under warranty. Thats good to hear. There is no signs of odd wear on the disks so fingers crossed. Cool
  4. What about the frozen ones. Got a link for them? Sorry to be a pain
  5. Some people are a little mixed up in the head.... I'm one of them. FFS I have just checked the rest. The rears are spotless except 1 crack so now they will need replacing too. Is anyone able to answer my question about old pads going on new disks? As they have loads of life left in them and are not made anymore. IMO the best pads by a million miles for a supra (Performance Friction Race Pads). To be fair to the manufacturers I have done many a burnout without a line lock so this is probably the cause of that crack.
  6. That was the sort of example I was looking for. I don't suppose you saw the crack to see how bad it was before the failure. Dammit - I don't think its right to take people out in the car like this then. They are going to be gutted!
  7. I wonder how long they have been like this. I did a few 'runs' on the DB when on the motorway without the other cars around so maybe a lucky escape. I don't want to say if I was over the speed limit or not but if I was I would have been about 5% off the cars top speed. It was as expected, back to the other thread to see how quickly I can choose and get new disks.
  8. Sorry to start a whole new thread on this. Please can you tell me if these are safe to use for a normal/spirited drive? (non track work). I am not talking about doing a stop from 180mph but I have some friends coming and plan to take a couple of them out in the car. I don't mean to sound like a dick but please can I ask that those who are likely to comment stating that if it were their brake disks they wouldn't use them not to or to say that this is not based on experience. I know that I need to replace them asap but I am really looking for answers from people who have knowledge or experience with this. Also, can I put old pads on new disks?
  9. Wow this thread was a very entertaining read. Would someone care to offer advise on how not to warp stock disks when doing high speed stops or using on the track. (I run CW race pads). I moved away from stock because they warp too easily. 3G disks on the other hand have lasted me years now (although I only do about 2000 HARD miles a year) I am now getting bad cracks in the disks so need to change as I am planning on a 200mph run (track obviously). So what are the options for a single that is driven hard? Pics of disks added
  10. Yep, 3rd has decided enough is enough.
  11. Hi all, An update on this. Its been a while as I haven't had time to fit the injectors since getting them back. I sent the injectors off for cleaning and the temp sensor for checking. The temp sensor IS over reading. That and the boost gauge are knackered so time to replace. Now that the injectors are back in and cleaned I am not having the problem that I was having on cruise so there was clearly an issue with them sticking randomly. I gave the car a run today and all seemed fine (no boiling hot red turbo) but I haven't driven it like I'm on a track as I have recently been in trouble with the police so have to stop driving like an idiot for a while. Next step is to change the gearbox, brake disks and pads (cracking). Replace boost and temp sensor and then look into what mapping is required.
  12. Same turbo as me mate. Needs lots of boost

  14. I have these dates set aside but only just spotted the put your name down bit. I will be up for anything anywhere (within reason) from friday night to sunday lunch time. Wish list: Beer Track (Drag, Drift, Circuit) - Even just 1. Lets go dragging like at Bovingdon Beer ummmm Beer - Done.
  15. Here is a video of my diff failure. I thought it was gearbox too. Can you put it into gear without the engine turned on? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrpptSMTjEA Dont know how to embed
  16. Does this affect the final gear ratio's? I.e the benefit of running the UK auto diff.
  17. I wouldn't panic on the AFR issue. My AFR's have always been all over the place. Just make sure they are ok on boost. IMO of course. Just remove the AFR gauge and you will ha e nothing to worry about!!! Most TT's don't have them and I bet if they did they would suffer with the same issues.
  18. Well that was a long read! Why are you planning on going on a long trip to see if the knock returns? I would drive round locally normally, if still fine then drive a bit harder. Then when there is still no knock drive the car hard and see if it returns. No knock after you have pushed the limits means you should stop worrying. It's a 20 year old car so will always be a ticking time bomb for something to go. Try not to worry about it but enjoy it instead!
  19. Looks fun. One to consider once the car is back on the road
  20. Boost logic is about 119db by memory. NOT good for log journey as you will need ear plugs.
  21. A bit sedate as I wasn't driving. Loving the rattling beer bottles in the back
