  1. It was the first thought - swiftly followed by putting it out
  2. Thank goodness I keep a fire extinguisher
  3. Pig

    help me!

Acceleration and turning = tail happy. Best way to learn how to drive a rear wheel drive car is RLTC I cannot recommend it enough!!!
  4. I am not responsible enough.... Unless there is a naughty boy group?
  5. WOW, nearly a year gone by and I have finally ordered some gates hose
  6. I have tested the car over the last couple of days after just tightening and all seems fine so I am just going to leave it and keep an eye on it. Hodge, I was talking about using lock tight on both the top bit and the bottom bit and the reason for this is that the bottom bit has sealer on it already from when whifbitz installed it..?
  7. Thanks, I may PM you for some help (once I have bought some det cans). I will check the pump reading at some point. Yes the ECU is bypassed.
  8. Please can you look at these 2 pics and tell me what it means. Number 6 appears to be oily? Number 5 very grey. Both new and fitted yesterday Stock TT
  9. Thanks, was mapped but pulled back for safety as the pump wasn't keeping up. As a result I was recommended to install a large cable direct from the battery to ensure the pump would have enough power. I was hoping it would be ok but it's not so I the next step is to learn how to add some more fuel and about timing. Unfortunately I just can't get time off work to map so it's down to little old me to learn. I think I have a prob with my fuel pump though - see vid (was about to out another post up about it) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_qkpjLA7OY
  10. Blown pipe - always the dam basics! Can't believe I still haven't changed the cheap shit pipes!
  11. I have been having problems with my latches recently. After giving them a good clean up and smothering them in grease, touch wood they have been fine.
  12. Hi all, I have been trying to up my boost a little through the AEM following a re-wire of the fuel pump (Only want to run 1.6 bar until I am in a position to DATA LOG). The AEM has a Fuel cut load limit of 21.64 psi which I increased to 25.94 and now the thing is boosting through the roof and then settling back down later on in the rev range. I turned the boost controller down to 0 in Manual mode but this didn't change anything and then 1.2 bar in Auto mode. The boost flies up to 1.6 - 1.7 bar and then drops down to 1.4. I would understand if I had changed the WG duty cycle but I haven't so I don't get it! On a side note, the AFR's at 1.7 bar are reaching the high 11's - What is considered acceptable in order to avoid a nice melted mush of metal? Anyone able to offer assistance as I cannot leave it like this as there is not enough fuel for 1.7+ bar (according to the AFR's) P.S - Going to have something to eat, then put back to the way it was an test but as my laptop battery doesn't work this is a very time consuming exercise to change anything!
  13. My V160 is on the way out so I say sell the V160 and I will take it off your hands
  14. You sir are a genius putting the uk auto diff in. I have one in my garage due to go back in as it makes for a great car!
  15. Exercise caution! I would say they need a wet vac to bring hem back to life
  16. I did an exchange with heckler years ago and they are still all working perfectly and looks great. Well worth it
  17. Interesting as it has had something used when fitted by Whifbitz (see pic). Good to know though - seeing as it is now nice and oily I will compromise and undo by a couple of threads or so and put lock tight on - no danger of anything getting in that way. Thanks both!
  18. The turbo oil feed came loose today allowing oil to leak onto the housing and smoke. I tighten ed it back up and it is fine but I wanted to take it off, clean it up and put some of that orange stuff in to ensure it is properly sealed. What is the sealing stuff called? Thanks
  19. Symptoms are that the boost gauge is over reading and not consistently. Today the boost controller was consistently reading 1.6bar and the boost gauge peaked at 2.4 bar. The aem (displayed on the dash 2) is reading slightly lower than the boost controller 1.4-1.5. Is it a case of ordering a new sensor or starting again? Or is there a fix? Boost controller is blitz ssid colour Boost gauge is a SPA design electronic boost/egt gauge.
  20. Went back to the car today and it opened. All greased up, lucky escape
  21. OH S**T it was in my diary as the Friday. I have a big poker game on the sat. Can we do last min decisions in case I can cancel?
