    Spacer help

Thanks, lots of good info on there but it isn't the idiots guide I was hoping for. Thanks, is that the type you are selling? Ill get the tape measure out and take a gamble on size. Any tips? I don't want to push the wheels out to far and have them catch on the arch (The car is quite low)

    Spacer help

I have stock 17's on the car and they are sunk into the arches and I now feel it is time to have them fitting nicely/properly. Can someone point me in the right direction? Do I need this sort of spacer? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JDM-R-Pair-of-Toyota-Hubcentric-Wheel-Spacers-5x114-3-60-1-20mm-SUPRA-/221166046685?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyre_Trims_Trims_ET&fits=Model%3ASupra&hash=item337e860ddd In the good old days I had spacers like this on my 306 I take it they are a bad idea? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JZA80-Supra-2JZ-10mm-Front-Wheel-Spacers-x2-Conceptua-/110788781359?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19cb86a52f And what size do I need for the front and rear? Thanks for your help Pig
  3. Want to sell them? I want to chuck some on mine Edit: sorry from me too. Car clearly looks good as it made me hurry up and sort mine out
  4. Yes, strip it, find out the can't get the parts so send it back in bits.
  5. I can't recommend anyone but can say that any company you ask will tell you they can do it

Any news on what was agreed in the end? Would be nice for people to know.
  7. Have you built the head at all? I have ferrera valves, springs and retainers and don't run 8k....not sure what I do run to be honest. I was always a believer in keeping the rev limit low as it meant I could bounce off it for longer and with less worry of causing damage.
  8. Correct. Mine was a straight forward swap, nothing needed changing.... Bar the diff
  9. I think we need a sticky on this as its only going to get more common. Best thing to do is convert to TTC mode, this will help you find out if this is the common issue with the EGVR or something similar to that valve
  10. I can see this working. I imagine it will be a little while before we will see items suitable for our cars.
  11. What sort of times, that gives better idea than a dyno IMO. Dyno's are for mapping and pub talk. Who's car is fastest is done on the black stuff Yours was a bloody fast BPU! - What did you get quoted?
  12. I don't think they take new ones on. Too many claims from supras. Funny that it's likely members insured but we never hear about the claims
  13. I am talking 5-6 years ago so that explains that. Thanks
  14. You are asking 2 different questions... Are you looking for best or cheapest? Cheapest will be the likes of admiral / swift cover - Just go on to the likes of compare the market. Good all depends on what your requirements are.
  15. Lies I tell you lies! It never eased on mine (and it was second hand). Come and drive mine, its noisy but as light as a smart car! HKS twin plate. I didn't stand up to my abuse as when I pulled it out there was lots of bits that were broken off but would stand up to all most sane people can throw at it. Got any idea what power you are likely to be pushing? Exhaust sounds good! Can you go down the same route for the re-circ? Will give you the option for track days should you wish.
  16. Nice purchase list mate! Wont want to come up agains you on the street 2 comments though: 1. I think your choice of clutch is terrible! I had one of these a few years back and it was noisy as hell (so is my current twin plate) but the main problem is its really stiff and is totally an on off switch. Driving the car round town, in traffic or with a hang over will become miserable. On a positive note, it does very well with abuse. When running road tyres I used to dump the clutch in 4th to leave 11's down the motorway. 2. Plumbing wastegate back in - Totally a personal choice but I am a firm believer that less is more, an open screamer pipe is just too much IMO.
  17. Owned for over 8 years and will never be finished, its a money pit!

What value did you declare when you did your quote? That is the maximum you are entitled to. You will not have an agreed value policy with admiral and therefore the amount you put on the screen is your max but you are still entitled to the pre-accident market value. If you are not happy with the valuation that have given you then supply evidence of replacement vehicles from sites such as autotrader or genuine dealers (not ebay). If they are not prepared to pay you a fair value then you need to register a complaint with them. They will then review your case and issue you with a final response. If you are not happy with this response then you will be able to take the complaint to the financial ombudsman service who will review the case and are able to make a binding decision for the insurer but not you. Tell them you are going to do this and they will know to take you seriously. EDIT: When they say they don't price like for like they are probably talking about modifications. If you have any modifications then this will not affect the valuation. E.g. if you have a set of £2k wheels then you need to forget it. You need to give them examples of standard cars as that is whet your entitled to. P.S - Ask them if you can retain the salvage and if they say yes drop me a PM as I would like to but it from you and I will give you more than they are offering you! If you are really struggling then PM me and I can talk you through it. I hope that helps Jon
  19. Welcome to the club. Have a search for BPU - basic performance upgrade. It will help you increase the power whilst makings sure you don't break things
  20. I'm with Chris Wilson. An uprated clutch is noisy and often suffers from a hard pedal and and an on off function. If you are staying BPU do not go further than you have to it will make for a miserable drive.
  21. They have up to 6 months to write to you so don't count your chickens just yet. You are very unlucky! I recently got done for being clocked going 100 -110 over a distance. The comments of bullying other road users and I was going 120 and you were pulling away so I had to put my lights on to catch you were not what I wanted to hear. I have a driver improvement course including practical driving next Monday instead of going to court for careless driving - No points, no court costs and no ban all of which I would have got if he didn't give me the course.
  22. Yes please, that would be much appreciated!
