  1. I have also been running my car for over 5 years on an AEM, it has never had anything but abuse and still goes well. It is always like this - fan boys jumping on the band wagon of 1 product or trader. Yes the syvecs is a superior ECU but that doesn't mean others cannot run a car well.
  2. I would say def. sub 600 bhp. Running a 60mm turbo at 1.4 bar you should hopefully be ok. Its difficult to quote numbers as they vary so much dependant on dyno/date - 5yrs ago a reading of 500bhp for bpu was unheard of now its ten a penny.
  3. Good call Is it driving straight under normal conditions? Done the basics like tyre pressures?
  4. The car will adjust the fuelling for cold start hence if the temp sensor has gone down this will cause issues. I don't know how to check it - Is nothing showing up on diagnosis?
  5. I would suspect a wheel bearing not being fucked or replaced and torqued hard enough. Edit: if you end up diagnosing as possible diff, I have one you can borrow to troubleshoot with
  6. Remove the tints not because of the cage but because they are illegal for a reason. I have a pet hate for really dark tints like that, you can't see properly and could find yourself in a lot of trouble if you were to pull out on a motorcycle and ended up killing someone.
  7. Welcome to the club, like the others have said 4.5k will get you a TT Auto and the autos are really good, especially when you go BPU they can be a VERY fast car
  8. I'm with what looks like the majority - too many people for pod to cope. Won't be able to do a run without a crazy queue and will take forever to get in and longer than that to get out. I want to go but it's too far to spend the day in traffic.

  10. Have you tried sanding down the edge of the shoes as it's prob just catching? It needs to be a slope rather than a right angle. Please post if it does or doesn't solve your issue.

  12. I wouldn't worry about being over protective. It's lasted this long fine so a few more winters won't hurt. They don't suffer with rust issues. Be careful though, they can be quite lively in the wet - I took mine out today and lost the back end in 4th today! If you haven't searched RLTC yet then have a look, great for a daily runner.
  13. I don't see the harm in going to visit the car. As long as you go with a level head and road test the car etc. To be honest it sounds like it's had some money thrown at it. Motec, ap racing brakes etc so could be well built. Make him an offer that allows you 3k to sort its issues. New disks & pads (check when there), clutch, ALL fluids changed, new tires as they will have flat spots, new battery, boost leak investigation, injectors out and cleaned, new plugs. After that its fingers crossed. You need to drive it hard on the road test, change gear from 2nd to 3rd at really high rpm to check that synchro as that's and expensive fix. The owner obviously doesn't have a clue what about the car which can mean great car for cheap because he took it off the road for a simple issue he didn't know how to sort or money pit. (I'm going with option 2). Remember though that owning a single turbo is not like owning a BPU TT - it's a fuck load more fun but you need to understand how it works to keep it running. If your not bothered about owning a single then don't buy one.

  18. I think the max is 40 IIRC 50 is too many for the organisers. I have never been on a DB that I haven't LOVED
  19. I would go with wiring or fuel pump ecu! 1st step IMO would be bypass fuel pump ECU to dry it and check all the wiring and earths. Maybe a relay issue?

    No mate, I do like too much grip, its boring! But that is how I want the wheels to fit in the arches - Front and rear
