    Knight Racer.

Front lip looks like a Kansai to me, not trial mate.
  2. So at the minute, I've got a couple of facelift inserts from the rear lights that Axle wanted skinning in carbon. I've never done these before so thought I'd take on the challenge as each 'new' item helps me learn and find the different shapes require different approaches. Anyway, just thought I'd share a few progress pics so far. Driver's side has been quite tricky due to the barrel housing for the lock. Passenger side one is further along and needs about 4-5 more resin coats with some flatting back in between.
  3. Can't make my mind up but I think it would look better with Ridox skirts on
  4. That's usually the way Dave as far as I know. That's why we have to go through the hobbyist approval process and be clear on what services we are offering etc...
  5. Mint - cheers mate I'll give it a try. Just need to get the old one out now!
  6. That's where I got them from mate. What I was after is confirmation that the pilot and release bearing are actually described as listed above. Thanks anyway, but I'm pretty certain I've got them right.
  7. Cheers. Is it new and off an NA like? Not sure if the TT and NA ones are the same.
  8. Hi guys I need to buy a new clutch release bearing and pilot bearing from Toyota but they aren't listed under those names. Can anyone confirm the following: Pilot bearing = 'Bearing (for input shaft) 90363-12002 Release bearing = 'Bearing assembly, clutch release 31230-22100 Should add they are for a 5 speed NA Cheers

    NA Refresh

It's an automotive restoration paint mate - the finish in the pics looks quite silver but it is actually very close to a freshly blasted aluminium, even in texture too! http://www.eastwood.com/ew-aluma-blast-set.html Tempted yes, but at the end of the day I don't have the funds to do it plus I don't like doing things by halves so if I took that route it would cost me a canny bit! To be honest I'm still happy enough with my NA; it's used as a daily driver and I clock up quite a few business miles in it, so it suits me. If I want more power I think I'd probably go out and just buy a TT. I just set out to make the car I already own, into hopefully, something close to what it might have been back in '93 and something I can be proud to have achieved. It would have been absolute agony to have had to put an oily, grimey engine back into the painted bay! There are other areas I'd like to refurbish once finances permit - i.e. brakes and suspension but that'll come with time. It is already running a full Chris Wilson custom set up Thanks to everyone for the kind words - means a lot when my project hasn't been about power and is 'just' an NA

Hodge has helped me out LOADS over the years Matt and much of the car has had the SBA treatment to keep it going (including a nice wire tuck). Yes, he has helped with some of the engine, including removing it - he fitted the complete set of new main & thrust bearings in the block and also replaced my valve stem seals. The rest of it has all been me and the TSMs. Engine has been stripped, cleaned, painted then rebuilt with full engine gasket kit (inc oil seals etc), new crank pulley, new oil pump, water pump, new rota arm and dizzy cap. Other parts were simply stripped and either blasted or thoroughly cleaned before being painted in high temp aluminium finish. The blue parts are all finished in a high temp 'anodised effect' paint.

So... Got a bit of a project going on at the minute, well nearly finished actually, to just tidy up the car and get it looking the way I want it to. The car is '93 NA and has gone in for a full respray. Whilst the engine was out, I decided to smarten it up so that a dirty oily lump wasn't going back into the freshly painted bay. I will be doing a proper thread listing the whole journey of the car and specs, but until then here's a few sneak pics of the engine...
  12. I love the Vreds on mine too but with the ratings the Nokians are getting, I'm quite intrigued to hear how you get on with them.
  13. I bought mine from Toyota too but they were part of a full engine gasket kit so don't know the individual prices - sorry. However, as I was also buying a new oil pump from them I took the oil pump with me and they fitted the front seal for me as the manual suggests using a SST.

  15. I haven't seen Pete in ages, but can tell you that he had the decals specially designed and cut and they weren't cheap. I remember him telling me that he'd approached the graphics guy from the film for the designs but not sure if that's where he ended up getting them from or not!
  16. You definitely need loom for the rears mate - not sure about the fronts though
  17. Any plans for the handbrake handle mate? All looking ace - looking forward to meeting some. Of the Scottish members at events this year. Some awesome cars between you all!
