    Blue Hylomar

Hodge, I removed the rear seal retainer as its the easiest way to get the old seal out and fit the new one. The rear seal retainer needs FIPG when reattaching, according to the TSM. Got a big wrench to hold the cam last night too.
  2. One of the Tanabe range, maybe the Medallion?

    Blue Hylomar

Just wanted to check that this stuff will work fine in place of the Toyota Seal Packing (08826-00080) that they wanted about £70 for! http://www.frost.co.uk/hylomar-universal-blue-gasket-sealant.html It'll be used for a variety of seals when putting my engine back together, including the front and rear crank oils seals. Cheers

    N/A Exhaust Headers

Me too, ready for what you might bring Marc....
  5. Welcome Gary - nice looking car. Where abouts in Tyne and Wear you from?

Perhaps rethink your use of Block Caps and the exclamation mark in your first response to Nic... Block Caps is considered as 'shouting'.

    Repair Manuals

Thanks Scott. It appears to be missing from the forum PDF manuals then. Anyone got a link to that one elsewhere?
  8. In the repair manuals, each section has an abbreviation - e.g. 'Engine Mechanical' becomes 'EM', 'Lubrication System' is 'LU'. Can anyone tell me what 'SF' is and where I might find it please? Several of the other sections say to cross reference with SF-15 (for example), but I can't find what manual SF is! Cheers
  9. Nah not painting, just other bits of running around to do. Car is in the bodyshop having the rusty bits cut out and the engine strip down/clean up is going slowly but surely. Think I may have to make some compromises due to time and finances not being readily available
  10. I'll not be there tonight after all lads. Enjoy though!
  11. I saw a do-luck in his garage the other month. I might head over to the meet on foot closer to 7pm
  12. Whifbitz for a genuine Toyota Crank Pulley mate - circa £280 and real quick delivery!

    waterpump

How many miles are on it? Mine failed a year or so ago but it was high mileage (circa 115k)
  14. I'm not. Going to be making a start on painting the hallway....

    Rich's NA-T

Looking good Rich! My engine is out at the minute whilst the car is being sprayed and I'm going to be doing lots of tidying up and painting - will be pleased if it comes out half as good as yours Still need to decide on an engine bay colour theme like....
  16. Welcome to the club Ray - where abouts in Tyne & Wear are you?
  17. Aye, I'll potentially pop along for a natter in my alternative car
  18. So going from the pics, these replace the main under tray only and the plastic one at the very front (under the bumper) is still used?
  19. I always used to get decent discount from Gavin or Andrew over the years too mate, that's why I asked for them. Was surprised to hear that they'd both left! Not sure who I spoke to on the phone but he even said it wasn't down to the amount of spend - just regular customer loyalty and the type of part. Been doing more to the car itself to be honest before it heads off to the shop. Cleaning up and treating the subframe and cross member etc, bit more stripping of panels (will save me a bit of money if I do it). This weekend will probably be the start of stripping down the engine. Have picked a colour but I'll let it be a surprise
  20. I wanted to order some parts from them today and asked for either Andrew or Gavin, only to be told that both have left. However, I ordered an oil pump, full engine gasket kit and a rubber seal for the front windscreen and got 12% trade discount When I asked about discount there was a bit of a discussion and it turned out that it is basically down to the part you order and customer loyalty. Guy said they'd always try and do something for their loyal customers.
  21. Would have loved to mate but car won't be ready plus I'll be in Dubai
  22. Excellent - didn't hold much hope for the battery!
  23. Some nice rolling shots there Marc!
