muckyman Posted June 11, 2017 Share Posted June 11, 2017 Hi all, hope you can give some advice to a newbie. 2nd day of ownership and just went to have a drive and found my SLIP CONT OFF and O/D OFF warning lights are flashing. I've checked the fuse and it's fine. Any pointers? Reason for waiting is that I want to get the issues sorted and to give Jurgen the opportunity to do the right thing as far as costs are concerned. He's off on holiday from today, and I feel it would be unfair to write anything without giving him the chance to address any issues. rider Posted June 12, 2017 Share Posted June 12, 2017 Seeing there are a few things surfacing I'd have thought it'd be best sent back to JM rather than have a third party get involved. At least JM are familiar with these cars. Be a good idea to get them to fit their tailored leather seat covers at the same time to protect the front seats. Ric Posted June 12, 2017 Share Posted June 12, 2017 The lights flashing are usually down to a dodgy speed convertor being fitted, or a loose connection in the convertor. mplavery Posted June 12, 2017 Share Posted June 12, 2017 I have a manual and ever since I had taken the inlet and throttle body off to be polished my SLIP CONT always flashes now. mine a easy fix but as I hate the traction control, I'm leaving it as it automatically turns it off every time I start the car. Quick trawl suggests a ECU reset might sort it. Only hard fix found was a failed (dry joint) 2.4kohm resistor on the back of the odometer. Have had another ECU in to eliminate that option - still there. The odo might be the issue - I have a new cluster sat in the office that I could try - that would eliminate that too I suppose. This gives me the following codes.. I'll get the car into my local Jap specialist (Japex in Kings Langley, who I have used for years and rate very highly) and get them to recharge the aircon, fit the speedo convertor -when Jurgen sends it to me- and diagnose & fix the error codes on the traction control. I'll pay for this and then forward the invoices to JM for them to reimburse me. I'm not after any freebies such as leather seats, or compensation over & above the cost to put right, I just want the car to be the way it should be. For me, that feels very fair. I wouldn't be getting a third party involved, I'd be expecting JM Imports to come collect the car, and finish the car as they should have supplied in the first place. What happens if it comes out the garage not fixed or worse than when it went in? It needs to stay between you and Jurgen. Jurgen will sort you out, just may take a little longer to facilitate. I'd be surprised if JM has agreed to that, as a third party could charge a lot more then what the jobs may involve. I'd be going with what Burna said, get Jurgen to collect the car and correct any issues themselves as using a third party could get a bit messy.
