Already on the eBay watch list for payday!

I know they are cheap mate but be careful as the anodising was not brilliant they had a few chips... I wasnt bothered as I am getting them done another colour.

Just so your fully aware.. they are still significantly cheaper than the Whifbitz or SRD sets.

Cool mate thanks.

I've got them saved but haven't had a proper look yet, I need them in silver really so it'll either be those or an equivalent

Managed to get everything rebuilt and refitted today.

Someone sent me a picture of the throttle assembly assembled, by that point I had made good progress myself too.

Then it was just a case of bolting everything back up with new fixings, ready for a new induction system.

You may notice I have used a thermal gasket, which was annoyingly white before some touching up around the edges.

These apparently give 5% power increase! Which is as amazing as it is nonsense haha. It does the job though and I got it quicker than Toyota could get one to me.

The paint annoyingly ran a little on the throttle body but I should be able to get that sorted in place.

Aside from that I'm extremely happy.

I still need to:

- Fit new induction system

- Finish polishing the cam covers

- Get hold of new upper and lower plastic engine covers

- Get new fuse box cover

- Replace odd coloured coolant hoses with plain black to match the rest

Received my B&M spoiler today from Westy (excellent seller by the way) and test fitted it to see how it looks, and because I have nowhere else to keep it for the time being!

Absolutely love it! Finally found a spoiler I am really happy with.

I had intended on stripping the brakes and everything down this weekend but it's starting to rain a bit.

Might see what it's like later/tomorrow.

Glad your happy mate.

Need a picture from further back though.;)

What and show the state the rest of it is in haha.

Set out to freshen up all the brakes and stuff today but found a lot of split seals and stuff so quite a few inconvenient set backs.

Will be refurbishing each caliper individually now, may as well do the job properly.

Means it'll be sat like this for a week or so though :(

  • 4 weeks later...

Couple of jobs done this weekend, had the parts in my cupboard for a few weeks but working out all day on an uncovered car requires decent weather.

A previous owner undersealed the car at some point, I've gone over that in the arches and redone the sills. Everything else seems to be ok from when it was previously done so just a case of tidying it up really, I used Hammerite Waxoyl - very easy to brush on, obviously wire brush the crap off first and ensure there is no damp/wet material leftover:

Also this weekend, fully refurbished all of the brakes.

New seals, OEM spec pads, clips, sliders, rubbers, the whole lot. Also gave them all a lick of paint, some stickers, and cleaned up the discs ready for getting it back on the road:

Nice, now get the bucket size tub, get under the car and do the rest, remember to lay it on thick, a thin layer wont do nothing

Finally, little bit more work on the engine bay.

Got a nice 'Blitz Sonic Power' induction kit, should aid the ported/polished air intake parts to get the air flowing.

Did a little more painting on bits in the engine bay.

Painted an SS PS pump cover in the wrinkle/hammered style as well as some OEM radiator brackets, and a spare engine cover that was to practice on.

Not totally happy with the finish on this but I have another on the way in the post and I'll see if I can do any better on that one.

Couple of recent updates.

Rear crash bar removed and treated for rust as follows:

attachment.php?attachmentid=210340&stc=1&d=1459024711

Collected an aftermarket OBX style exhaust manifold, something I've been after for absolutely ages. Really happy with this purchase! Just need to get it polished up and get new gaskets prior to fitting:

attachment.php?attachmentid=210339&stc=1&d=1459024711

Also, stripped out and sold the RX8 seats. Which is a bit daft as I never drove the car with them fitted, but an opportunity came up to buy a full set of facelifts in absolutely great condition for a brilliant price, so thinking of long term investment value I had to take the plunge.

Everything removed and will get the seats fitted next weekend when my new rear belts arrive (binned the old ones):

Next up, I wasn't happy at all with the wrinkle finish I got on the engine parts.

Partly down to me rushing it, not doing it right, and it not being at the right temperature it just didn't look good at all.

Decided to redo everything in a 'rustic iron' finish, textured and understated.

Really, really happy with how it's turned out. Just need to do the other bits again which I'll do when I'm changing the manifold over:
