Took the seat control ecu out to check the PCB as they suffer battery leakage after so many years

and i'm glad to report all is well and cannot see any leakage or damage to the printed circuit

I've ordered the replacement battery from CPC, i found them on ebay first for £13 each, CPC £3.90 each :)

The shell will be ready tomorrow for painting, just some stone chip to spray on in

the engine bay and a few other areas.

The galvanisers are dicking me around and i'm not impressed, the left hand doesn't

know what the right is doing, they won't be getting another job off me anytime soon.

My chassis has sat in their yard for 7 days with no one knowing what to do to it, the

phone call i had earlier was interesting to say the least, i've been told it will be done

by tomorrow 12:00 hrs

So i call the galvanizers and get the run around again, i speak to the sales

manager at 9am who is going to call me straight back, i've just phoned them

as he's not called me back over 1 hr 30 mins ago and he's gone out !!!!

Fantastic customer service, not, how the ***k did he become the manager ?

Feel for you, this stuff can really try your resolve, glad it's coming together with the frame. Onwards and to the bank ;)

Cheers Chris, the chassis drama is now over and after going over it yesterday

it's now come out very well, just a shame about the communication from Howells

and no one appearing to know what was going on or being too bothered.

Great update Dunk, loving the attention to detail and loads of progress pictures along the way. Should help towards the future valuation of the car.

Best you can't wait until it is completed :)

Thanks Abz, i think it's a must when you go this far with a restoration.

The sad part is when it's finished it wont look much different to when i

bought it, visually on the outside it looked in great shape. Once the bull bar

had been removed :)

At least you'll know that you aren't sitting upon a pile of rust :)

Yep, the photos show it looking great now. Hopefully normal service will resume as soon as possible. Is the body on RR's bolted directly to the chassis or via rubber mounts? I guess isolation mounts of some sort.

Rubber mounts, nothing special but i've got a polybush kit for it.

It's been rubbed down to give it a key and cleaned with thinners, then heated it up with

a couple of space heaters and sprayed with 3M

Those pics look great Dunk. Once finished, this Rangey will be worth a whole load of dosh. The top ones are going for good money these days mate.

Great work indeed!!;)

Thanks Andrew, tricky to value i guess as it's only worth as always what someone will pay.

It would have to be a whole load of dosh for me to sell it as it owes me a whole load now lol
