for anyone reading wishing to go NA/T when your engine is out make sure you swap this bolt around (Rich.2211 practicing his hand modelling skills here)

and then it should look like this after :) otherwise it catches on the oil return and its a right PITA when the engine is in..

Filter and half of the pipework done.. Although I have since changed the intake pipework for two 45 degrees

Like so :) and that's how she stands.. With all the pipework done now.. Not much to do.. Gotta fit a new fuel filter and damper delete and get fluids in!

Nice progress mate and some nice mug shots of me, Josh and Joe :D

Don't forget the finger!! Haha

Joking aside you guys have been ace! The amount of work and effort you've put in to this! Not to mention all the advice!

I owe you all massively and will definitely return the favour :)

Great work. It would scare the hell out of me doing that on the driveway, well done to all. Keep wondering whether to go N/A-T or straight swop in a TT, this thread is an inspiration.

It's still scaring the hell out of me as I haven't started it yet..

There have been parts that have been a bit of a pain so far like the intercooler pipes and this old fuel line wouldn't come off without ALOT of persuasion off the car in a vice..

But.. Its really not been toooo hard.. My mechanical knowledge isn't great tbh as well!

It's been immensely rewarding watching it taking shape so far and il let you know if it's worth it ;) there is plenty of info on the conversion out there to help you out!

I know rich has had supras in pretty much every variety and said the power delivery of the single on the NA/T was amazing!

Thanks mate :) cheers for taking the time to have a read.. She's come a long way!!

Mapping went reaaally well! Hit 1.1 bar of boost.. And wow! Flies!!! Turned it down to a safe .92 to preserve the W58.. Can't wait to put it on the rollers and see what it makes and get some final tweaking done

Wired up ready :)

Cheers all.. The difference is unreal.. Absolutely love the noise and it's bloody quick!!!!!!! Still getting used to it tbh but the power delivery is immense

I've took it apart again now to upgrade some bits..

New rad and oil return (old one was leaking slightly)

Old vs new.. Difference is 1.5cm thick vs 5cm thick

Old one was rather screwed haha

Yeah the 20 year old rad wasn't up to the job lol! Definitely worth a swap!! :) should hopefully be getting it on the dyno soon..

it needs mapping again after the boost leak was discovered and fixed as it's currently over boosting..

It went to 1.38 bar.. A friend reckoned 1.2 bar would see me close to 500 with my set up.. Which put it this way was absolutely mental.. I imagine that kind of pressure to be around 550bhp??

Going to have it wound back to 450 to try and prolong the life of the W58 till I can save up enough for a v160.

Although I've hit another small hold up as my rear pass wheel bearing has gone.. So that will be fixed hopefully next week and I can get it sorted and on the dyno :D
