Do they work with a HANS device? Worth thinking about if you're going to do any proper racing. Trust me, they're horrifically uncomfortable otherwise. I didn't have a HANS-suitable seat in my last single-seater and could barely drive when wearing it.

Yep these seats are designed to be HANS compatible :)

"The headrest has been moved back to prevent the drivers head from being pushed forward when using a crash helmet and the shoulder belt holes have been designed to allow the use of a Hans device."

Nice one. That is a mistake I'll never make again! The HANS is absolutely priceless mate. Get one bought. When you go, bring your helmet as they need to install the anchor points to it :)

Already sorted, My helmet has Hans posts installed from factory and I have a Stand 21 club device sitting with my race suit :)

The last Birkett race I did was in a 4 car team. The other three succumbed to mechanical issues within an hour , so I ended up doing the rest solo. Car needed an engine rebuild, and I needed a blood transfusion by the end. Beware.... ;)

Glad to see this car is going to get the usage it deserves, good luck. I pity your bank account though :)

Ordered the seats for the car :) now I have to wait 7 weeks for them to be made :D

I have decided to go for the carbon but with a white back to suit the external of the car (not important but nice anyway).

Should look nice.

Here is a picture of them in a Supra (but with bare backs)

wow. what do they weight?

They weigh in at 7.5kg each, the ones I originally looked at were 3.5kg however they are not FIA approved.

I need the FIA approval for TA and other events so had to go with these.

With the FIA approved seats the backs are thicker and stronger.

This is still a good weight saving over the steel framed seats I had in there already (8kg Saving)

  • 1 month later...

I can confirm the new Seat fit in very nicely :)

Started making up the new frames for installing the seats into the car yesterday... half way through I ran out of welding wire so will update with pics soon.

Passenger seat has now also been ordered.

Also got some new OMP 802 Harnesses.
