all i can say is f$ck the haters and props to you for doing what your doing and i hope it turns out as you hope

Not much difference to what Rik did, apart from Rik built a shelter as well. I have to say his car was different and didnt look bad, unforunatly it never did get the test of time. RIP Rik.

I hope you have as good a result, and people who push the boundaries are the ones who create new inventions or find better ways of doing things.

If it comes off your a Genuis and others will copy. If it doesnt you'll be labelled an idiot.

The point is the people who invented things in this world had loads of people call them these things before they invented or did something useful.

An example is someone taking a dirty old engine and making a coffee table out of it, bet the first time it was done the person was told they were an idiot. Now you pay a high cost for that type of coffee table.

now if you ever do want it sorting it will be tripple the work and loads more money , Rich.

I dont think you know what your talking about buddy, say my bumper gets chipped, just repair that area and spray over it, the paint just blends in.

Later on if i want to remove it, just strip the car down, sand it all of and prime the panels. Im not lazy so i can do it.

Have you got a ETA on finishing this Evin? Would be nice to see the finished product and save people praising/moaning about what your doing. Proof of the pudding will be in the finished pics.

Theres no ETA on the car, just doing things as i please:tongue::D

I'd echo that, as much as the finished product isn't to my taste this is a young chap learning new skills and making his own car look how he wants it to look on the budget he has available. I have more respect for this than someone just waving a visa card and placing orders for the next big crowd pleaser.

When I was close to his age I think I was spraying the rusty arches of a Fiesta most weekends with rattle cans and being proud of my efforts, don't dampen the spirits of this enthusiast folks.

I agree on half of what you say, Its good that he is doing what he wants to do on his budget and i hope it all goes well for him. I dont agree you saying you have less respect about people waving a visa card. Weather or not we get a professional to do the work on our car we are still making it our own, but for me i have worked F****** hard to save up and sacrificed lots of things to get my car in the bodyshop and making it look how i want it.

I have the same amount of respect for someone who has spent £500 or 30k on there cars. At the end of the day its your car, make it look and perform how you want it.

I have worked in the accident repair trade since i left school which is 14 years now , so please do not tell me i do not know what im talking about , i have had to sort out cars where people had ago themselfs and it makes loads more work because you have to remove what they have done plus then start again with the prep,

best of look mate

Rich.

Whilst this is something I'd never want for my car (for a start, I prefer shiny to matt colouring) - I have to say, you're a brave fellow for attempting all of this!

If I was doing it I'd want somewhere I could do it and not have the problems with dust etc you mention from doing it outside, I think that would be too big a deal for me. Still, you have to make use of what's available.

Hope it turns out as well as (better than?!) you expect
