A lot of people say how I will get more money splitting but I don't get why some one handy on tools won't buy this complete cheap from me and then strip to easily make a couple grand themselves?!

Because its lots of agro, stripping the parts, cleaning them, wrapping them up and posting takes forever, on top of that its a large outlay and they have to get the car home and have somewhere to strip it.

thats whats going on in my head mate, seems such a bargain im confused.com

Buy it then?

There's a lot more parts you could sell on to really maximise the money you'd get, but as others have mentioned its a major PITA and very time consuming (don't underestimate it!!). If you could get someone to buy it as a whole you might do better. Have you contacted the likes of Keron or AFR to see if they are interested?

Bare rolling shell is closer to £500 IMO.

As a breaker it is not worth anywhere near £8K, the labour alone to pick it up, break it, and post bits/answer enquiries is massive.

Lee do you want me to post my honest opinion, you may not like it, but it's better than having people tell you sugar coated lines? I've had a drink so usually tell it like I see it, ask me tomorrow & I'll give you a sugar coated story too, I'll pm you if you want

i never got the pm, pi$$ed or sober lol

not sure how you can say its not worth any where near 8k as a breaker?!

i payed 1400 new for the brake setup and i put a question mark as a rough guess, recon there worth over 800 IMO as they havent done many miles!

i sold a shell for 2200 before and only thing was missing was the engine, kinda how i picture this shell but with decent wheels, possibly the plate

ive had to emails offering me £6k and £6.5k for the car complete, im willing to meet half way ish at £7k :( considering i payed £6k for this car standard i feel like i have my balls in a vice!!!!

I think you are off yer head mate.

You said in other posts you had most of the bits required to get it back running, bar a few missing parts and a few hours labour you are willing to lose thousands? Can't you just grind it out for a few more weeks?

Would be worth it in the long run, even if you chose to sell it immediately after fixing it, it would be worth at least 3k more, surely it's not gonna cost 3k to get it running again?

There is nothing worse than being in debt, the only thing worse is throwing money away imo.

I hope you get back on your feet soon.

AFR even said they would fix it for you, then bring the resale value back up..

Im not slagging anyone off but your mad, it would take more hassle/time breaking the car than it would fixing the bloody thing, unless you know it cant be fixed........

WHy not Copy your map onto computer, sell the ECU as its easily replaced and use it to either fix the engine properly or fit a Standard TT Engine.. If it were me ide fix it, its just not worth the money you want for someone to break it even though they would prob make even, there has to be a clear large profit for someone to undertake such a lenghy task.. Remember they would be buying on the pretence that the parts are good and for them to resale they would have to at least guarantee that the parts were good to the prospective buyer

I remember a car on here a while ago that went this way Geordiesteve i think I remember him having to give his single turbo away.. because knowone wants to buy the unknown and get stung.

Sad truth but i true
