Tom Cruise...

Respect The Cock! He is awesome in Magnolia, should be on Youtube somewhere...
2. Funniest thing I've read in ages... As for the job offer, It all depends on how much you value your marriage. If you love your wife and are happily marriied then don't go! It would have been a cool experience but in the end a marriage if for life, not worth risking it for a couple years working abroad!
3. Yeah seen the adverts on Sky, looking good! I heard Sarah is back in it too, I hope so as she's fit!
4. So I've finally just completed the fifth and final season of HBO's The Wire. I was up to date with every other show on the planet, Prison Break, Lost, Heroes etc and was on the lookout for something new. I then discovered The Wire A few weeks back I downloaded the first season and have been obsessed since. IMO this beats any other show to come out of America in a decade, totally awesome! Takes a season to get going but well worth watching. If you want some decent TV then start downloading.... Still need convincing? Here's some reviews: IMDB Empire Top 50 TV Shows of all time
5. Yep, I'm going - to Weston Park though. This year will be my third time in a row, after the last two years with endless rain I was hoping for a scorcher this weekend! According to the BBC weather page that aint so!
6. The 'Retention Team' at O2 have more power so can give you better deals than the regular upgrades team. I always bluff my way through to speaking to the Retention Team in order to get the better deals. As for Three, well my Mom is with them and I guess you're getting the general idea on them! As for 18 month contracts, always insist on a 12 month!! They'll give it you in the end. They always encourage the 18 months as it's better commision for them as the privider hasn't got to upgrade the phone as soon...
7. I kind of looked into this earlier in the year after being in the States. I was shocked to see a Corvette Z06 for just $79k on a dealer forecourt. I also saw a 2006 Shelby 500 Mustang for a mere $28k on the road price at the same dealership! When i got back I did a little research, this is to the UK though so bear that in mind. You pay approx £1500 quid for shipment. Then a further 10% import tax on top of the Stateside purchase price. Followed by another £1k to register and MOT etc. Then on top of all that you add VAT. Those figures are approx as from memory. As to what you pay in UAE I haven't a clue! I guess you need to check locally as to what import taxes you pay...

Contact Lenses

Me and contact lenses don't mix! I used to wear monthly ones but was constantly forgetting to take them out after a night out on the lash, getting them out after a nights sleep is no easy task!! On top of that I was a sod for not using the proper solution, I'd sometimes just put the lenses in a puddle of water on the sink! This ended in disaster once when I mistook a puddle of FCUK shower gel for water and put them in that. The pain of putting neat perfumed shower gel directly into your eye is something to behold! I got what I deserved though. Eventually got my eyes lasered a couple years back, if you think contact lenses are cool - then this is a whole new ball game! Worth every penny believe me! I forget I ever needed glasses now.
9. I had loads of Hamsters when I was a kid, they are nocturnal and when they're awake spend the entire night gnawing the cage! My cousin had a chipmunk, ferocious little thing! I also had 2 terrapins, they were cool but quite delicate for a 4 year old I'd say. My mate has a bearded dragon, no offense to people who own one but surely the most pointless pet ever! They don't do anything, just sit there all day conserving energy. I take the piss out of my mate's for being an expensive ornament. Whenever it moves it's head my mate says ' look Conrad, it just moved'. I think he's trying to prove me wrong but I'm not convinced! Rats on the other hand, they sound cool. Show your missus themovie Ratatouille to change her mind...

htpc gurus

Ooh, I love these kind if threads! I have no idea what any of this stuff means but it makes me feel comfortable knowing other people do. I've never even built a PC before, this HTPC I'm doing is my first.... Only need my CPU and memory now, got everything else already!

htpc gurus

I'm also in the process of building a HTPC, have been for about 3 months but keep forgetting about it! I too have the Antec Fusion case, have you actually seen one in the flesh Damon? I only ask as I was quite surprised at it's size. Maybe that's down to my unrealistic expectations on size, but I was a little disappointed by how big it was.
12. Yeah, can't blame the farmers tbh. The governments is South America try and encourage them to grow other produce but nothing compares to the return they get back for Coca Base. And obviously that's still way less than what coke sells for here. In Colombia you can get a gram for $5 USD
13. Oh forgot to add, I smoked Salvia a couple years back at V Festival. Did nothing to me but my mate freaked out big time. Very amusing! We bought it from a legal drugs stand at the festival
14. It takes a ton of Coca leaves to make just a kilo of Coca Base (cocaine paste). And to do that is no easy task either, it took scientists at the start of the 20th Century a long time to figure out. Basically only 0.01% of coca leaves are Cocaine. Coca plants are perfectly legal in Bolivia and rightfully so, they're harmless in natural form. I've chewed them myself and all they did was make my mouth numb! The locals chew them to stave off hunger and stay awake, perfect for working long hours!
15. As soon as I saw this thread I thought Argentina has to be on the list!! I went there last year when backpacking and whilst walking around Buenos Aires my jaw was on the floor, you have to witness it to really believe it!!
16. Personally I think this new rule is a good thing. On at least three occasions I've bought and paid for items which were not as described. When I complained to the seller and threatened negative feedback their attitude was 'well if you leave me negative I will do the same to you' The previous system meant the seller had leverage over the buyer which was unfair. As much as Ebay annoys me (have you seen their selling and listing fees? - borderline theft!!) - they had to do this to protect those who were too scared to give negative feedback for dodgy goods.
17. As already said, this is my old car. Sad to see it smashed up like that. The guy who bought it had never driven anything like that before, I did warn him about the back end in the wet... Anyway, free bump for you Keron
18. Apologies for dusting off an old thread but I just discovered this and it's a funny read for those that missed it first time round.

New puppy

Cute dogs I have a Staffy named Jake too, well kind of. My Ex-Girlfriend got Jake when we split, she's living in Ibiza for the Summer with him now. Apparently he loves the beach though!
20. Phew, glad you posted your comments up Chris. I'm in the process of building my first PC (a HTPC). I've been reading this thread for the last half hour and I was starting to feel Linux was the way forward, afterall it's 'free'!. My only concern is I'm nowhere near as PC smart as the guys posting on this thread. Think I'm sticking with my original choice of OS - XP Pro...
21. Yesterday I became an uncle when my brother and his girlfriend had a baby girl named Alissa May. My brother (like me) has very pale skin and blue eyes, his girlfriend however is black. We were all very surprised yesterday to find that Alissa has blue eyes. IMO I think that's really cool for a black/mixed race kid. A few people are telling us that all babies have blue eyes when born and over a few months will turn to their real colour. Anyone know if this is true? I could understand it in a white child but a half caste kid? Any ideas?
22. Me and my Dad are in the property game and it's affecting everything now. Tradesman are getting laid off and sites are closing down as nobody is buying anymore. The big builders have just decided what's the point spending more money developing if nothing is going to sell. The Credit Crunch is mostly to blame, last year if you had a 5% deposit and good credit mortgage lenders were falling over themselves to give you money. Now you need 10% and even then it's difficult to get a mortgage, they just no longer have the money to lend.
23. That is when that women across the road isn't putting her rubbish in your bin!
24. Indeed this is true, I've been to the Equator in Quito. I also thought the toilet flushed in opposite directions so me and my mate spent our time at the equator running from side to side checking which way the water went down. We came to the conclusion they just flushed whichever way the water came out. Me on equator:
25. Has anyone ever done this or have any idea how much it costs? I've just got back from the States but while I was there I was checking out the prices on the Mustangs. As you'd expect they're a lot cheaper over there than here. I saw 2 year old V6's going for $15k and a very nice 2006 Shelby V8 GT for $28k. Bare in mind these were on the road prices from a dealership! A decent saving compared to how much they fetch here...
