Yeah as Sheefa says, no way anybody in their right mind with a TT is going for that deal. IMO you need approx £2k plus your car to get even a decent Jap TT. You're looking at older NA's, you'd prob get a manual one too..

Oh man, so my hopes of it improving in time for my trip to Vegas in May are a tad optimistic!

Anyone read info anywhere or can offer their opinion on when you think the £ will improve? As we all know the £ is terrible against the dollar and the Euro at the moment. You'd be lucky to get $1.40 for £1 at the moment compared to $2 this time last year. Just wondered if anyone had any idea if or when this is likely to improve? I know we can't predict the future but surely it can't get any worse?

My local charges £2 for a pint (£1.49 on a Monday). That said the norm around these parts is approx £2.50. I went backpacking in 2007 and every person I met from other countries would say how lucky I was to be travelling on the pound. The Aussies would come over here to work for 6 months and then go backpacking with all the £££'s they made. How the tables have turned.

Defnitely check with your local agents for properties with no upwards chain. We bought a run down bungalow last summer for next to nothing, it was left to a guy by his mother who had passed away. It was on for £140k at the time and we ended up getting it for £103k, the agents were happy to get that too! The market is bad at the moment but we've just finished building 4 detached bungalows, all of which are thankfully sold. We have sold them for way less than their valuation but it's still profit at the end of the day, the silly money we were getting two or three years ago is long gone!! I've not read the thread Sarj but as a builder myslf with poperties to sell I'm fairly up to speed with things. My advice would be to look at properties with no upwards chain. Poperties that are vacant or with no mortgage etc. These properties tend to be somebodies 2nd home or maybe a property left to a relative after a death in the family. As the owner is not reliant on 'X' amount of £££'s to move elsewhere they're more likely to accept a lesser offer. You'll also find the agents selling for them will push for sale too and urge them to accept the offer in order to get a sale. As for the 85% thing then look at other banks. Maybe your mortgage advisor only uses certain banks, the 15% deposit may not apply with other lenders. I've also heard that lenders want bigger deposits on new builds as opposed to older properties. So many people are scared to buy at the moment or are willing to take risks. But the truth is now is the time to buy!! Use the terrible market to your advantage....

Hmm, a V8. Now that is tempting. I actually bought a 325 E46 Coupe after I sold my TT. It was ok but it just felt a little uninspiring, I'd never owned a BMW before so was a little surprised as to how average they felt. I sold that and bought my GT4 ST205 instead. I know what everyone is saying about the 350Z. Granted they're not fast but they're nice looking and modern. I guess I must be getting old as performance isn't as impoertant to me as it once was!

I guess my 'silly cheap' title was a little out then. Must admit I'm totally out of touch with Supra prices. I sold my immaculate black TT nearly a year ago now for £5995. It didn't exactly get snapped up at that price either. Yet almost a year later I'm looking at TT's on auto trader and I still can't get a car like that for that kind of money. I really thought there'd be plenty TT's around the £5k mark by now, I guess not. With the 350Z's going for £7 - £8k now I'm thinking of going down that route insted.

Agreed. Lewis was and still is The Last Great Heavyweight, can't see that changing for some time either. A prime Lewis beats a prime Tyson IMO as well. As for those still picking Tyson I just don't get it. Would you say Tyson was better than George Foreman? Cus I certainly don't, a past it Ali beat a prime George Foreman. Add to that the fact that Tyson himself was shit scared of Foreman, even the 41 year old version he wouldn''t fight back in 1990. I'm genuinely surprised at how many people are blindly opting for Tyson. No doubt in his prime he was a scary animal to behold, but people forget that in his prime he didn't really come up against anyone of note. That era of HW boxing was not the best. He beat a blown up Light Heavy in Spinks and a 40 year old Larry Holmes. Tyson's aura of invincibilty had 90% of his opponents beat in the 80's before even stepping in the ring, but he wouldn't have had that advantage over Ali. Ali beat the two baddest men on the planet in the 60's and 70's namely Liston and Foreman, both of whom were considered unbeatable. Ali is considered the greatest HW of all time, I'd be surprised if Tyson was in the Top 5. Tyson had amazing speed and power but he wasn't mentally all there, as soon as he came in against somebody good he crumbled mentally. He'd have a punchers chance against Ali, as all HW boxers do. But IMO Ali beats Tyson all day long.

A friend of mine is looking to buy a new PC for his room and wants to use it as a HTPC. He only wants to use the PC for music, internet and downloading movies etc... He was also on about buying a PS3 or Xbox 360 for playing Pro Evo when the mood takes him. He's not a massive gaming fan but does play from time to time. I suggested getting a decent spec PC and gfx card instead as this would probably be cheaper. As I haven't a clue about gaming myself what do you think is the better option - console or gaming PC? I think PC as you can get cracked games for free, my mate is a little sceptic with gaming on a PC due to problems installing and setting up etc - not 'plug & play' like with a console...

He bought a 5 pack of these yesterday, I ate all 5 last night when drunk just to p1ss him off. :D Whenever these threads pop up Gaz is always on hand with some good advice, he I suspect like me, has had his fair share of broken hearts. I broke up with my girl back in June and I'll be honest with you it's been the worst few months of my life. She consumes my thoughts at all times with the guy she cheated on me with and going out with now. The best thing you can do is not call her, not text her, delete her number and avoid contact at all costs. Trust me on this, no matter how much you want to, stay away from her. It just prolongs the the heart ache. And then, and this is the most important thing, get laid elsewhere. It don't matter if she's fat and ugly, you will feel better. Strange but true...

You do have a point, some dogs just aren't suitable for urban living. I've always loved the look of the Boerboel, you can't help but be impressed with something that fights lions! Not something you could pop down the shops with though!

Ah, didn't realise that tbh. It's a tricky one I guess, I woudn't worry about buying one personally and if you could prove it wasn't a pitbull (pics etc) then I say you are Ok. The other alternative is to go for a breed you know wont get mistaken for something else. On a side note, our 15 year old Staffy was put down today. Such a shame for her in the end, poor thing was in a terrible state this morning. She was shaking, literally crapping everywhere and throwing up. She's had cancer for a while now and despite the mess she was in she was still wagging her tail on her final trip to the vets! As already said, it's the owners that make bad dogs. Not the breed. No getting through to some narrow minded idiots though...

So long as the Bulldog is KC registered and you have the documents to prove it's a bulldog then I can't see it being an issue. The bulldog is a lot larger than the pitbull I think. Amazing looking animal imo, there's a cool pic of one somewhere on the net of a bulldog pulling a car or something! I'll see if I can find it...
