  1. Good to meet everyone today:) the tour of Brighton seafront was err interesting:blink:nice to see a few different Supras! look forward to the next one when the weather is warm!
  2. So is that with you retaining the car? and is it worth sorting or is it a breaker? sounds like your pleased with the figure mate.
  3. That was on my silvia, so it would be a good idea to ask a couple of people who have them fitted in the right place just what there temp range is, as i dare say it will be different on a Supra.
  4. Going to fit my Redline EGT gauge soon, but i'm going to put it just downstream of the turbos, i had it in my Silvia before the turbo but heard to many stories about them breaking and taking out the turbo so i moved it, found that in that position it would read 180 deg cooler so not to hard to work out.
  5. My problem will be that i want to run four thermocouples through from the engine side, as they have delicate right angle bends in them that can't be threaded through!
  6. Thanks! can you get at it from both sides?
  7. Are there any easy to get at that you can get about six to eight wires through? and if so where?
  8. I could probably undo them with a large pair of stilsons, but i don't really want to, i'm looking for something i can carry in the boot.
  9. Still looking for one of these? a little odd as my nuts are six sided and not eight!
  10. OK sounds fine, if there is a local Toyota dealer near me, i would normally flush with a hose, but there's a hosepipe ban in my area, and if the neighbour's spot me, i'll be looking at a fine:rolleyes:
  11. All sorted with a fully charged battery:) but I'll have to look into why it went flat! it seems OK and holds a charge.
  12. So what is the difference between the Toyota red coolant and a decent antifreeze with corrosion inhibitor? i suspect they would be pretty similar apart from the color.
  13. Yeah i sorted the cig lighter Jergen, it was just the fuseable link in the bottom of the socket, i doubt,t it would be that as there is nothing plugged in! only used the sound system when on the move, and it only has two amps, had the same in the Nissan with no problems, no doubt there will be a logical explanation for the flat battery, just a case of tracking it down;) teething problems! its just testing me:eyebrows:
  14. Managed to talk to Rob at sound alarming, and he thinks its just down to a discharged battery, going to let it charge over night and put it back on in the morning, and keep my fingers crossed, then i can also look for a current drain in the wiring, to explain the flat battery!
  15. Just tried him but he's out until later! is he the guy who fitted the alarm? just put a meter on the battery and its nearly flat, so i have taken it out to put on charge, i also put a meter on the terminals and its showing a dead short so i suspect that the starter solenoid is jammed and is draining all the power:( bugger!
  16. Just been out to try again, and the battery seems to be nealy dead! and the allarm won't respond to the remote!
  17. I had arranged to drive a friend to Stanstead airport this morning, was looking forward to giving the Supra a good run! so what happens? i get in to start it and click! and the alarm goes off! (not quite used to it yet) anyway after turning it on and off a few times i start to think its got a problem! but i remembered another alarm I'd had did this when the battery was going flat so i grab a spar battery and some jump leads and connect it up, and all i get now is what sounds like either a relay cutting in and out very quickly and interior light flickering when i try and start it! so I'm now wondering if somehow either the starter or the solenoid has jammed!!! just got back after driving his V8 auto jag up there:( and its pissing with rain! anyone have any ideas? hope I'm not going to have to resort to pulling the starter motor off:(
  18. Only had my car for just over a week and i haven't even had it in the air:) a record for me;) two questions, can someone tell me a reference point with the undertray in place, to line up the crossmember for jacking? and also if there is a safe place to jack up just one side of the car?
  19. Thanks, whats the thread size on the oil filter?
  20. I will be fitting an oil pressure gauge soon, along with my Redline four termocouple temp gauge, so the easy choice will be a sandwich plate with two take offs, but will i get a sensible oil temp from here? also who does a good priced sandwich plate?
