  1. That looks great! i have always thought that those Works wheels would look great on a Supra! (i presume they are Works?) and if you ever get tired of them;)
  2. In the end, if you have no idea on doing bodywork repairs, you would save yourself a lot of aggravation by taking it to a decent body shop, after all they do it all the time! cost is difficult, anything from £80 to £200.
  3. Looks a very difficult place to knock out the dent as its on one of the stronger areas and on an angle! you could try and get at the back of it and knock out what you can, but in the end you will need to use filler, although filler will stick to roughened paint i would take some of it down to bare metal, then its just a case of build it up and sculpt it back to the right shape, prime and paint, but the hard part is blending it to match the original paint!
  4. Digsy and Chris Wilson, my previous posts where based on going back through a lot of old posts regarding engine breathing and i noticed a lot of comments about the amounts of oil that was being ejected through BOVs and observations on the amount of oil found in intake pipework and intercoolers, which lead me to believe rightly or wrongly that A, there are either a lot of worn out Supras out there, B or that there was a breathing problem! so my reasons for daring to suggest a catch tank and possible vent to atmosphere, where based on that, and the fact that i have seen the results of other engines running a closed system, and when venting to atmosphere, and it has been the difference between passing an MOT and not! The only reason i have now replied now is that you and Chris Wilson seem to be the only people who have made an effort to reply without casting aspersions about peoples intelligents!
  5. You should still be able to get all the parts here. http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/
  6. Sounds like a man who knows what hes talking about! best come and join the stupid club with me! LOL
  7. Looks great! must have taken ages by hand!
  8. Thanks Digsy, very similar to an article i have, shame about the other school playground attitudes.
  9. On my last car, not Supra, i ran emanage and found that although i could adjust the AFR at idle to a point where it would just pass one of the tests, and i took it to really weak to do that! can't remember the exact AFR but in the region of 17. i found that the other test at a higher RPM it wouldn't quite make it! i think it may depend on if you have a sympathetic MOT station! or chuck the cat back on!
  10. LOL at 30! god knows what you will be like when you get to my age;)
  11. OK Like i said i'm not playing who know best! guess i picked the wrong people to exchange ideas with, your not discussing, your preaching!
  12. I'm sure they do, but i was talking about once the engine is taken over its intended design parameters, I'm not out for an argument! or playing who knows best! i was just chucking around some ideas! and i'm not "dave in his garden shed " either!
  13. I wasn't talking about a stock system, i know lots of people running catch tanks and vent to atmosphere system on high power 200sx and several people running the same on high power Skylines, can't see a reason not to, if the tank and pipework is of adequate size to allow for pressure/vacuumed equalisation, and you get the oil vapour and water vapour drop out in the tank, I suppose it more environmentally friendly to pipe it back to the intake system, but against decatting its probably the lesser of the two.
  14. Ah right, as i said in my other post i cant see a reason to treat the Supra engine any different from a SR20DET or RB26 is there anything that is an oddity about it?
  15. Primarily my idea apart from increasing the capacity of the system and equalizing pressure/vacuum, is to reduce/eliminate the amount of extra oil burned by the engine, which only serves to increase the amount of hydrocarbons emitted, which in turn reduces power, helps kill the cat sooner, or makes it much harder to pass an MOT emissions test.
  16. "Smells different though " Its very toxic to breath:(
  17. OK I've been doing a bit of searching, and I have read all the various comments about the breathing system on a Supra and come to the conclusion that apart from the actual breathers being a bit on the small side, I can see no reason why I can't treat it just like any other turbocharged engine, and run a vent to air catch tank breather system, I also can't see a reason for blocking off the intakes and using both cam cover breathers, there is a pressure equaliser between the camcover and sump, so no problems there, I read all the bits about the engine not being able to vent without vacuum assistance? and I'm afraid unless there is something vastly different about the Supra engine, I can't see why it should be treated any different from say a Skyline or 200sx motor which hate to be under breathed when power is upped! I also have never had any problems with any engines sucking anything in through the breather system when vented to air! providing that there is a sensible set up, and the pipework is adequate and the vent from the catch tank is long enough and routed properly! From what I have read about the amount of oil that seems to get sucked into the intake and discharged from dump valves, it certainly sounds like there is a strong vacuum effect from the intake! anyway once I have had my Supra for a while and had a bit of time to investigate further I'll let you know my results.
  18. Not only that but you can daisy chain the XD-1 gauges together and have them read whatever input you connected to the LM-1 for logging! so you can program them to read boost, temp whatever! "Plus it's pretty cheap if you get it from Dusty and MVP"??
  19. Sikaflex is an adhesive that most serious spray shops use for fitting kit body panel's etc, you would need to go to a motor factor or paint supplier for it, its a similar consistency to Tiger seal in a caulk gun type tube, i have used Tiger seal for fitting and small bits of kits in the past only to have it crack in the summer heat! one thing to be sure of before trying to fit any piece of body kit is that it is trimmed and fettled to fit right without any adhesive, or it will end up looking crap!
  20. If you want it to stay on don't use Tiger seal! its crap and will crack! use Sikaflex 221 its the proper stuff, you would have to cut it off should you want to remove though, tip when fitting apply it an press on tape in place temporarily wipe off the excess with your finger and then use spirt wipe to clean it up as its a pig to get off when dry!
  21. A trip to the local scrap yard will probably yield some struts that would do the job.
  22. Hence the comment about the sideskirts;) no i haven't any i'm afaid, my new Supra won't be with me until late week/weekend.
  23. Get that front bumper on there Matt:) and stop buggering around with roof spoilers:p swap it for some side skirts;)
