  1. A lot of speed convertors/de-limiters don't actually remove the speed limiter at all, they simply scale the output to 5/8ths, which converts roughly to MPH, and moves the speed limiter up to 180mph. I suspect this is what you have. Contact Thor for one of their de-limiters. Their ones can simply remove the limter, (properly), without touching the speedo if that's what you want. Although unless you've got a 300kph speedo, you'll be finding it very easy to start pushing the needle right round and back to the stop!
  2. Dan, I'm fairly confident they're confusing the traction control ECU for the throttle control ECU. It's the throttle control ECU that's beside the main ECU, and that's the one thats generally removed on manual cars. (can be removed on auto's too. You'd gain faster gear changes at the expense of smoothness). The actual traction control ECU is basically ABS ECU sending a signal to the throttle ECU telling to close.... Did that make sense?
  3. We also bought a Focus from them-no problems at all. They were nice to deal with. We were looking to buy a Focus collection, so we told him we were going to look at another one but it was well over an hour and a half's drive away unless they could do something much better on price. They said no-the boss came out and said no so we thanked them and made to leave. The guy came out into the car park and said ok let's see what we can do and so we bought it from them. That was about 2 and a half years ago, I don't have the Focus anymore, I do get christmas cards from A1 carriages though! Chantelle
  4. I didn't realise this was not known to people. (Not being big headed, I just assumed everyone knew:shrug: ) The Blitz R-vit works.... http://www.blitz-performance.com/Blitz_RMonitor_Rvit.htm
  5. If you go to JAE at the weekend, I have no doubt that you'll getto hear one!
  6. The Idle Air Control Valve is bolted on the engine side of the intake, right at the back. It has two water feeds and one breather pipe, (or filter), and a plug with about 6 wires going to it. Generally most Supras tend to idle higher when on cold start. ~900 rpm.
  7. A very difficult, and personal preference question, I'd say. I've got a Blitz Nur. I like the sound of it, but it does drone. That's where the baffle comes in handy. Personally, my favourite 'sound' is the old HKS Hyper.
  8. Ho-hum Can I borrow your number plates, and Christians driving license
  9. Boostlogic 7.92 @ 182 http://www.boostlogic.com/videos/RaceCar/BoostLogic7.92.mov There are others too, but I couldn't find the links quick enough
  10. I'd suggest getting there for 6.45-7.00, with a view to leave at about 7.15.
  11. Michael, no, not easily anyway. The Toad system monitors ALL the inputs and outputs of the immobilisation circuits. It can be done with a host of relays and diodes though, but it becomes messy and most dealers won't want to touch it. Martin_a, If you get a Clifford, it has a manual remote start option which means it wont drive itself through a brick wall Chris, Call or PM me if you want to know what model you have Dave, Pop over one day. It only takes about 5 minutes to re-program.
  12. Sorry to hear that John, but seems that congratulations are going to Nick. A good car that one
  13. But DO take it off something that SHOULD be able to breath
  14. I'll meet up with you Maidstonites at Thurrock.
  15. I've had exactly the same in a HKS BOV on my car when I first bought it. I knew there was a problem as I'd had one previously on a different Supra. When I looked at it, I found exactly the same as you have. I assumed the previous keeper had tried cleaning it at first, until I found so much inside it. Has yours ever worked OK? Maybe it's something that gets trapped in there from new?
  16. I saw my first Supra when I was at secondary school, and one of my friends Dads was buying a brand new mk2. It looked damn cool when it first came out. He bought a mk3 the instant they came out. That was the first time I'd seen one of them. My first mk4 was a black on on Top Gear, (still got it on VHS!). Then we had one in at work about a month later! - We took it out for a 'test run'. It was a UK TT auto, and the first time I'd ever been impressed with an auto car!
  17. Whilst I'm sure it can help with the powerband, I'm fairly sure the whole VVTi thing was born from immission control.
  18. Sadly, Yes. I need a new clutch, flywheel, 4th gear syncro needs replacing, and whilst I'm at it, the selector bushes need replacing too. What with moving work premisies & home, I haven't had the money to do it all:( The car still drives fine on a daily basis, but the clutch won't withstand drag launches.
  19. Thank you... Extra half hours sleep
