  1. I'm interested in the answer to this too.
  2. I want to buy a track day (or half-day) for my g/f: can anyone recommend any suppliers? Price is a factor (isn't it always!): with my budget (no more than £150), I would only be able to buy her an experience in a hot-hatch or Mini Cooper, etc. Edit: I should clarify that I'm looking for one of those days where they supply you with a car, a bit of instruction, and then you get to have a go, rather than a "bring your own" deal. She's used to driving my Metro, so anything will be a step up! I've seen this thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=46743 and also had a look at http://www.ferraridriving.com/mini.htm . The mini one looks especially good: 4 hours for £125! (not all of it driving, of course!) Does anyone have any views on these, or any other suggestions? TIA Steve
  3. I might be interested, obviously depends on price. Thanks for looking into this Nic.
  4. Mmm, Delia! The way she works those spuds, it's almost poetry! BTW, hello Charlotte!
  5. How much would you want for one (or two) speaker covers please? Sorry for being vague, but I remember that at least one of them is tatty, but can't remember if the other one is too. Does your "stock front bits" include dash panels too? A couple of mine are scratched up a bit.
  6. Is the other one still up for grabs? If so, how much? I presume the driver's and passenger's ones are interchangable.
  7. Welcome to the club! What wheels do you have on there?

    Help Boys ... x

Huh, I feel used and dirty I'll have to give Sky one now .... no, it's coming out all wrong!!!
  9. That is a really nice car! I love the colour! I've been reading this BBS for over a year now, and I don't doubt it's been looked after.
  10. Here's another vote for the supra's interior. It's loads better than my Rover Metro's! What are VW like these days? I've had a go in a Golf Tdi ('96 model I think), and that dash was deathly dull. [hijack] Gazboy: what was the XKR like? I've got a mate who might be getting one soon. What are my chances if we decide to pit our cars against each other on a private road? (I have an unmodified NA) Will I be beaten by a lot, or only a bit?
  11. Sorry Nick, can't help you with the wheel offsets at all mate. It's not an area I've touched. As for the price, it sounds at the top end of the correct bracket. I reckon the going rate for a NA with that number of miles on is (probably) £4500-£5000 for a private sale. Add a bit more for a trade sale.
  12. I think some people remove the o/s headlamp if they take the car onto the drag strip, to get more air into the engine. Unlikely, but it *may* have happened and it may have been refitted not quite true.
  13. Normal unleaded is fine for an NA. I've been running an NA on it for over a year, with no probs at all. So have several other NA owners. Some people find that you get better fuel economy if use use Optimax though. However, that's another debate (I don't want to hijack your thread into a "how much MPG do you get" thread!) NA = cheaper to buy, about the same to insure and run as a Jap spec TT Other than that, there aren't really any recurring serious faults to look out for on the mkiv. Just do the normal stuff, like if you're concerned about past crashes, take a good look at the panel gaps, take a good look around the engine bay, looking for repair welds. Good luck with the search! I'm sure you'll enjoy whichever one you buy!
  14. A numpty question from me: What does "cat back" mean? Does it mean a particular part of the 'zorst?
  15. I'm not sure if the HU would be able to power the aerial. It's odd that you don't have the relay at all. I can't remember what colour the plug is that goes into the relay box (my dash is apart at the moment too!), but I'm guessing that it's just dangling in fresh air in your dash. There's quite a few wires that go into the relay box (10 ish), and I don't know what the others do. Someone more knowledgeable may be along soon!
  16. Above the dashboard's double-DIN headunit hole, there are 2 boxes bolted on top of the frame that the HU clips in to. The lower one is beige (I think), that's the aircon control. The upper one (brown) is the aerial relay. The thumb trick probably means the signal cable is OK, although radio reception can be affected by ways you wouldn't even imagine!
  17. No mate, bought it privately from a guy in Oxford.
  18. I live in the reasonably chavvy Winklebury. A nice part of it though. Had a hedgehog trying to get into the garage the other day. Ahhh! Hope to see you around soon!
