  1. Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the odometer circuit board? I'm especially interested in the speed buffer output circuit, becaose mine's developed a fault. I've tested all the resistors I can get a probe to, and they seem fine. I've looked for dodgy solder joints: I've re-soldered a few, but the fault is still there. Thanks in advance. Steve
  2. trick, All the fog light work was done by a previous owner. But judging by the quality of some of the other workmanship on the car, I'm not 100% confident that it was done properly! Thanks for the thread link, I'll follow that up. Steve
  3. Thanks guys, It seems to make sense from the icon that it's a tail light malfunction warning. I'll double-check my tail lights (including brake lights), but I 80% sure they're working OK. The fog lights are wired into the inner rear lights, so maybe it's that that's causing the warning. Steve
  4. What is the yellow-ish warning light for on the instrument panel, beside the seatbelt warning and "door open" warning? I honestly don't know. I think it's the right-most warning lamp on that lamp cluster. It's a plan view of the car, with what looks like the rear lights lit up. Thanks in advance, Steve
  5. There's been rumours of Toyota bringing out a mk5 for a while now. *If* they do, then there'll be a demand for appropriate website addresses. Looks like these "mkv" addresses have already been bought by our esteemed moderators. Edit: I'm guessing that they've been bought by the mods in order to catch anyone mis-spelling the website address, rather than any inside info on new cars being developed. Please correct me if I'm wrong!
  6. OK, I'm buying a new headunit for the supe and I can't decide whether to go for one that's black (so it blends in with the dash), or a non-black (grey) one that has green lights (so they match the dashboard lights). Ones that have both are beyond my price range. What's your opinion? Match the dash facia colour, or match the lights colour? BTW, I don't plan to change the dash light colour!
  7. Unlikely, but I'm not sure, I don't have a turbo timer (don't even have any turbos! ). I would suggest disconnecting the turbo timer and see if the fault still occurs. Can you swap (just briefly) your odo for someone else's, to see if the odo soldering has gone bad?
  8. Given that I know the make, model, mileage, year of manufacture and condition of my 2nd car, is there a website or something where I can get a rough estimated value of it? I've looked on autotrader, and all the ones I've seen have far fewer miles than mine. It's a '93 rover metro, and the Parker's Guide in WHSmiths doesn't go back that far.
  9. Yes, gradual elimination over several rounds of voting.
  10. Depends.... one careful owner..... bodywork in good condition...? I still think eBay prices are artificially low for cars that have been well looked-after. I would expect a mint NA sold in an owners forum to fetch maybe between £4k and £5k.
  11. Graham S is selling his '94 Black UK 6speed. 80k miles, but you'll be hard-pushed to find a UK with as few miles as you want. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=41681&page=1&pp=15
  12. I'm sorry to hear that Keep your pecker up, things have a weird habit of turning out OK. I agree with AJ that this board is probably a good place to try to sell it. People pay a bit more than what they would on eBay, but that's because they're much more likely to be buying a car that's been looked after, not just abused, neglected, washed and then sold!
  13. Mmm. Not sure. I think there's quite a few being imported, which will depress prices. Just out of interest, why are you selling? (any potential buyer will ask you this anyway )
  14. Owww! Nearly forgot to say: the ICE looks good, and that's from someone who doesn't usually like much ICE.
  15. Looks like you're into your ICE!
  16. What price did you have in mind? Have a look at Autotrader for realistic prices too.
  17. I'd say keep it. There are some sites that just don't work with Firefox.
  18. Good plan Jspec. Check the wires at the ECU. If nothing is loose or looks out-of-place or dodgy, move on to the odo. I assume you don't have a speed converter fitted. Good luck m8.
  19. Argh! My supra's got the dashboard off still and needs a new DSC, otherwise I would. Sorry m8.
  20. .. well, nearly! When I took the digital speed converter off, the error code didn't appear at all. So I'm going to ditch the old DSC and buy one from Thor! Cheers for the helps guys!
  21. ..well, tdaxgav did really, confirmed by Toytown. It was the thin black plastic thing with 5 wires coming from it behind the speedo head (as described by toytown). Thanks guys, you're stars!
  22. As Bobbeh said, should be OK as long as basic servicing is carried out regularly. Look for a car that has evidence of this being done in the past too. Most car engines will keep going for ages if you look after them. I have a Rover Metro with over 150,000 miles on the clock. OK, it's given me grief in the last year and the rust is gonne kill it shortly, but the engine itself still runs sweetly.
  23. I think it's good. Nice one John. Anything that helps people understand the engine bay is a good thing. If it's uploaded into the technical area, then people can see both John's schematic diagrams and also actual photos of the engine, which is a cost-effective way of showing a lot of info.
  24. Usually with alarms, you have a minute or two to start the engine after unlocking the car. If you don't you can usually press the unlock button again to disable the immobiliser. You then have another one or two minutes......
