  1. Not put you off have I? The cars in my dream only went bang because the chavs were just bolting hooooge turbos onto shitty cars and not doing any setup or support-mods
  2. wow man I had a dream about the XSPower turbos last night! How bizzzare. I was in my local chav area and there was an old escort-styled peugeot racing up and down the road with a massive turbo sticking up out of the bonnet. Shortly after it went bang and the engine bay was on fire. But it was fast. Then at a later date (same dream) there was a yellow chevvy-something (both cars were styled like escort-mk1s) and it did the same, but was fast! I asked the chavs where they were getting their turbos and they took me round to some back-street place nearby. I showed my interest and said i was glad there was somebody selling them over here because I'd looked at them, and asked if he'd be able to get the precise one I wanted. He tried to tell me how the one he had there was suitable, and went on with himself a bit. I asked if I could borrow it to look over particularly because it had an information leaflet in the packet which included a list of their whole range. He said yeah no prob but you'll have to give me £15 to pay for my taxi back to the garage. We'd only walked 200yds fom his garage but I said ok whatever and went to a cash machine to draw out the money. While waiting at the cash machine the taxi driver lady (quite fit too) said to get a move on and I said well how much will it be, and pulled some change out of my pocket, from which she took £4, then gave me a cheeky look and tried to take another two quid. I said I don't think so, you're trying it on, and gave her £1.50 more. Whilst reading the enclosed information leaflet, I realised they were all T-Shirts. There were about 6 nicely folded over t-shirts in the packet and the information leaflet was all about t-shirts too. I was looking at the turbo I had and it was only the exhaust-side, which bizzarely was regtangle-shaped like those small 12v air-compressors you use for inflating your car's tyres. End of dream I think.
  3. I just found this little gem. Awesome. http://www.mapilab.com/outlook/nntp/screenshots.html
  4. I'm going to pump some iron
  5. I think he's referring to them requiring to run the car at 180mph on the dyno in order to get the peak hp - it doesn't take 1000hp to get to 150mph so it's not about hp required to reach high speeds. Maybe for some wierd reason they were running the car in 6th gear on the dyno - perhaps they were trying to figure out the cars theoretical top speed (gearing).
  6. slightly off topic, but I have been surprised to find that if I sit in the car with the ignition set to ACC and the radio on quietly for 45mins, my car will only-just start. But as I use the car every day, it's fine.
  7. I thought the autobox cooler was integrated in the main rad? or is that an autobox cooler as opposed to an autobox oil-cooler?
  8. I can't beleive they banned him for doing a (positive) writeup on the eBay turbo kit. That's a poor show :thumbdown
  9. http://www.singlesupra.com/ebaysingle.html Surely a repost? Awesome. it's a summary of this thread on Supraforums. I know one of our guys has done a 'test run' on the XS Power kits, but there's a decent writeup here, as well as info on changing the turbo exhaust housing to a smaller one for only $50. I'm excited I wonder how hard it is to learn pipe-bending? I fancy using a stock SMIC.
  10. very expensive and not worth considering IMO. Cruise uses an extra throttle cable and stepper motor and god knows what else around the traction-control area.. Airbags would have impact sensors somewhere, control-units, LEDs on the display area..... forget it!
  11. I could really do with the polystyrene stuff, as things in my boot keep sinking down the edges. Is the jack and other bits included as well? (I have the jack, but am missing other bits). Let me know and roughly what you want for them please. thanks
  12. Wow. People really are paying huge amounts of money for UK cars still. Makes me feel all warm and cosy inside
  13. yeah I was thinking of going black or purple, but the Storm Blue looks great when clean. Zymol adds a deeper tone to it too. mmmmm Zymol. I love that smell.
  14. Does anybody know if it's condensor mounted or evaporator mounted? I'm considering trying one of these Smart VOV variable-orifice-valve TXV-like orifices http://www.acsource.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=273
  15. is it on this diagram Nic? http://www2.css-networks.com/efi.jpg
  16. £1.09 at services today and I think (maybe I was seeing wrong) it was £1.009 at the Esso in Altrincham. First time I've seen more than 2 digits after the dot!
  17. the ECU should retard timing if it needs to, so you'll just be running with less power by driving on regular unleaded (95ron), although it's commonly thought that J-Specs would not be safe on 95 ron, I can't see why considering this. I use Optimax where I can. There is quite a noticable difference between regular unleaded and super-unleaded on the turbo cars. Optimax is just another SUL as far as I'm concerned, but I do at least think that Shell petrol is probably reasonable quality.
  18. I keep thinking you're Jake - you've got his old avatar!
  19. some of the good av software just detect it as a 'generic phishing trojan'. It doesn't mean there's anything virus-like on the page, other than the naughtiness of the page itself. Same goes for the emails which direct you there.. http://www2.css-networks.com/phishing.jpg
  20. I was being cynical about the press reports! I just missed out the :rolleyes that's all
  21. I wonder how much of the stuff we're hearing is true? We're hearing about looters, rapists and murderers. (It's a predominantly black area, right?) But reading that site suggests people are looting for food and water, and eventually resorting to breaking into cars to try to get out of the city. No one can get anywhere near the 'good guys' because they just point guns at them and say go away.
