It's that cannabis mate.. it's bad for you!
  2. does yours have lots of play too?
  3. Better have your laser-protective goggles on
  4. I thought someone might mention that.. I did exactly the same when I started my business, and was told that it's normal practice. Yeah the camera database is free, from http://www.pocketgpsworld.co.uk and it's damn good!
  5. Is everything ECU-like actually disconnected with the IGN off though? I wonder if the ultimate safety procedure would be to disconnect the +ve from the battery, hook the jump leads to the battery, then reconnect +ve if you see what I mean.
  6. I can happily recommend this chap - http://www.satnav-shop.com (check the Sales page). I bought mine from eBay, and therefore didn't get the £10 discount (even though I paid by depositing into his account). But it was still only £295 including delivery, and a VAT invoice is supplied which means I'm only paying ~£247. For those who don't know, the TomTom GO, not the GO 300/500/700, is now known as the "TomTom GO Classic" as it's the older version, but it is actually the same as the 300 except that it has ASN (accelerometers / gyroscopes which try to detect your movement through tunnels etc.) which is now only available in the 500 and up. They are supplied with the latest Maps so really it's a bargain. Anyhoo, I'm pleased. http://www2.css-networks.com/ttg/1.JPG http://www2.css-networks.com/ttg/2.JPG http://www2.css-networks.com/ttg/3.JPG http://www2.css-networks.com/ttg/4.JPG
  7. I'm gonna try for worlds oldest man by taking lots of life-extension/anti-ageing and smart drugs
  8. hehehe it was almost the right colour for his car too. He was thinking about using it as a roof scoop. I did say that if he doesn't use it I want it back - no selling it..
  9. also jack the car up from one of the crossmembers and check for vertical play on the wheels. Could be a knackered balljoint on the wishbone.
  10. eh? fuck me.. £155. I just gave my bonnet scoop (genuine, off my UK car) to a mate to try on his 1.0 Fiesta.... If I can get it back does anyone want it?
  11. My uncle has this 'anti-surge' thing that goes in-line when you're jump-starting a car. Bit late for that though...
  12. That's exactly what I have suspected mine as being, for quite some time. But I don't understand why only the OSF corner would do it.
  13. I've easily left a couple of Carrera-4s behind on the motorway. BPU UK spec.
  14. Well it looks like the green 5mw 'LeadLight' models are easily modified to ~20mw. That should do. I'll keep you posted. Thing is, I am struggling to scrape the money together for the replacement TomTom I just commited to buying from eBay
  15. Just discovered that I have major vertical play in the lower control arm balljoint. Might be worth you checking also.
  16. Have you sorted your clunk yet Merckx? I have just discovered that the balljoint on my LCA has nearly 2cm of vertical play. Jacked the car up and the OSF wheel can be lifted up and down about 1.5cm on the balljoint Wonder if that's anything to do with the clunking noise.
  17. There are 5 or so clutches in the N/A auto and 7 in the turbo apparently, which are used when it changes gears. The real clutch-like thing that you feel is a sort of fluid-clutch, called the torque-convertor. I'm not sure which wears out first, sorry..
  18. I've had quick play with it but umm... no, sorry
  19. How bizzare!! What a strange person
  20. It would be except, in cases such as this, it's probably something like "right, you get your hand next to the window ready to grab the TomTom, while I pop the window", so, the grabber will have his hand going in the exact moment that the glass is shattered.. It would stop them taking anything else though, good idea!
  21. It was very visible to anyone who was looking for it - was suck to the windscreen near the drivers door. I live on a "grove" (cul-de-sac) though, so we don't get anybody passing through, and the car is on a private driveway right down into the corner of the grove. My replacement will be mounted behind the dash in place of the air-vent.
