  1. don't forget you will defo need a restrictor ring since you've got a J-spec. Where is your double-decat pipe from? Is it an eBay one?
  2. maybe one of your accessories is getting stiff then. Not sure if you'll be able to tell, but try to see if one of the other pulleys isn't quite turning as it should.
  3. has it 'eck! I have the perfect way of explaining the sound though. With wheel removed, if you turn the front brake disk so that it clonks on the hub-nuts, that's pretty much exactly the noise I'm getting. I wonder if the holes in the brake discs are just too big / stretched? They certainly are a little bit large, else it wouldn't be possible to turn the disc that little bit. Presuming the above explanation fits yours too?
  4. lol I like how it saying to visit mkivsupra.net and supras.co.uk. .... .. . ok i'll stop there.
  5. Have you looked under the bonnet yet?
  6. I changed all four today, and the car is so much quieter except that my rear hatch rattle is back only a year after replacing the rubbers. Angle-grinder didn't exactly make light work of the job I had to grind the fronts from the bolt-side instead of just grinding off the nut. I have a full set of front control-arms on their way to me (£860 incl. vat from Toyota). I think I might not need them now. Anybody after a cheap set?
  7. Here is the parts list, with prices in US$ http://i-supra.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/537605458/m/999107524 I think a donor car is what's needed really.
  8. or even.. the same as what Jake just said, except that the rubber ring is providing just enough friction to drive the belt directly - as had happened in my case. The best was going around the rubber ring.
  9. it could be one of two things, in my (uneducated) eyes: 1. It's RPM dependant. So even with aircon off, if you raise the rpm a little, it still does it. 2. The above is wrong. In which case your AC compressor has siezed or nearly siezed and so when the clutch engages, it is seizing the outer pulley so that the belt is slipping around it.
  10. Price for RH Ignition-panel 94 UK Auto please Nic
  11. carl0s

    engines worth

I think Jake bought his VVTI engine (no turbos etc.) for £800 too. I might be wrong though
  12. I like it! car looks bad I take it they are not Dales actual rims?
  13. nothing quite like a memorable, topical URL
  14. from the requirements list: which basically sounds like a proxy server which will do on-the-fly recompression of Jpeg and other media formats. I guess it works, but in my eyes it's a cludge. and the connectivity is Bluetooth, so if you have a 3G Bluetooth phone, you'll get up to 384kbit/sec. If you don't, it'll be ~50kbit/sec at most (GPRS), and 9.6kbit/sec (GSM).
  15. NO! First of all find out if it is the pulley. Some pictures here http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=41040&highlight=crank+pulley If it is, then it could go flying up through the bonnet, through the fan (as has happened to someone) or anything..
  16. So relieved. Was at a customers today and I casually mentioned it and he said "Oh you dick, you left it at Effies house on Saturday!"
  17. download the link that Geordie Steve posted ( http://www.hostdub.com/albums/zhenya00/Engine_Screensaver.mov ), make sure you right-click and "Save Target As / Save Link As / Save As". After it has finished downloading, rename the .mov extension to .rar. Make sure you have Winrar installed (http://www.rarsoft.com) to extract the .exe file out of it. If you can't see the .mov extension to begin with, go to My Computer -> Tools menu -> Options -> View tab and make sure "Hide file extensions for known types" is not enabled.
  18. I assure you it'll be back. If I remove my calipers and refit them, it goes away for a few days but always returns
  19. Yeah. One of my rears is extremely loose (I almost removed it.. but not quite) and it sounds absolutely shocking. New ones on order, quite cheap too. Rears were £28 ea, fronts £34 each, -ish. As for control arms.. they cost a a bomb.
  20. ah, sorry, I meant GT35R http://www.t04r.com/turbo.php?id=7
  21. I was going to ask if you could run low boost on a single and not need mapping done. Thanks for answering that John. Is a Garret GT42R smaller than a T61? I was thinking that a small-single would be interesting, and I'd definately want to use the stock SMIC.
