  1. One of the best bits of kit out there is an extendable tyre wrench. They are available at halfrauds and other motor factors for about a tenner because even nuts that have been correctly torqued do themselves up tighter over time. My Mrs can change her own wheels-in fact she changed the brake sets to Uk's when we did that upgrade. She did have a little trouble lining the alloy up but then in a puncture situation you wouldn't have a full size alloy so no worries there then. Lifting the alloy back into the boot may be a show stopper though. As far as Faye is concerned all she has to do is appear helpless and a hundred BBS members will appear and change the wheel for her!!
  2. This is all why I am going to get an assured insurance value for my car next insurance term. If they have agreed on paper to insure my car for a set value and its all on paper model type and all mods then there is nowt they can do to counteract that.
  3. Oh lets just really confuse matters now LOL
  4. Just put a TT engine in an N/A problem solved!!
  5. Insurance doesnt make any sense at all.
  6. Keep a phone number for a 24 hour mobile tyre service in your car. Should find one in your yellow pages. In the unlikely event of a puncture call them out and suffer the extra costs involved in an emergency service.
  7. I'm sure I recognise that photo. I was offered that ages ago and the one I was offered wasn't a TT. Its a funny bronze colour not dark grey.
  8. Hulk Hogan fits in a supra????
  9. Yes I was looking into the option of supercharging my wagon. It all came down to hinging on a kit that may be modifiable to fit the non-vvti N/A supra. (If you have the VVTi supe there is a kit will bolt straight on your car, search out my thread for details)Problem is I would have to gamble nearly a grand on wether or not the brackets would fit as the guy in the states said he wouldn't take them back if I bought them and they didn't fit. They are going to open a retail outlet in the UK sometime soon and when they do it should be a more viable solution then. I am an impatient git and wont wait around that long so I have decided on the TT transplant instead. It should be a relatively simple process with only the newfangled electrics to fox me. I will let you all know the costings when its completed.
  10. Quality refurbing of wheels is not cheap and would more than likely take up most of that budget. Respray work costs as much as the places reputation allows lol.
  11. All this talk of models and insurance is starting to make me twitchy about mine now. When I renew I am going to have to have a strong word with the insurers to ensure they are covering the wrong model. I may even go down the assured valuation route that way they have a picture of the car and can't quibble if I claim.
  12. I pass a guy regularly (going the other way) with an N/A thats been nitroused. So it has been done. He is however selling it less than 6months after he bought it. I know this as its a distinctive car and saw it for sale in southampton 6 months ago and now for sale again in my area.
  13. A plan insurance brokers gave my mate a second set of no claims when he insured his landy as a second motor. Worth a call I guess
  14. Bloomin eck most peeps either have a GTO a 300ZX OR a supra not all bloody 3 ya greedy get lol.
  15. Yeah but they will be TT hoses which will be different so no point in buying N/A pipes right now.
  16. When they fitted my clifford system they fitted the immobilisor box too close to the heater matrix or engine or summat like that. Consequently the thing wouldn't start after it had been on a run far enought to warm it up. This first manifested itself when my wife was dropping me off at the air terminal in the heaving rain to go to Afghanistan to fight the rampaging hordes of Talibans lol..
  17. Hmm I was following lord Voldemorts post as well about these items. In fact so was Tim as he posted on that thread too LOL. Maybe the dark lord erased his memory and cookies of the whole thing LOL. Speaking of whom he got a right piss on at me for linking to stuff on this site once (what can I say I didn't know he wasn't on talking terms with hogwarts did I?) I am sure that he had some in boxes allready though Tim. And there were a set of just sides for sale as well if I recall.
  18. Not much point Faye as I am gonna be putting a proper engine in soon!!
  19. Dunno about spangly pipes but I would like some red neons for in my footwells front and back.
  20. You had a spate of car burning riots on a weekly basis or a few floods and then a tornado reak havoc upon your locale lately?? Weird how they would insure you before and now they won't. Wonder if they have suddenly realised that they were insuring J-specs as MK3's all along and now realise they are MK4's LOL.
  21. Like the man says you should lay off the strong beer pints in the afternoon LOL
  22. Be a complete Git to keep clean though!!!
  23. So we are still up for monday then???
  24. OK don't wanna fly in the face of all the advice here but I recently upgraded from stock 16 to stock 17 wheels. The difference was almost bone jarring. I was gobsmacked at the difference it made. I got to thinking that the difference was too much so I checked the tyre pressures. They were at 30 psi but the reccomended on the charts for stock 17 soops is 36 so I put a bit more air in, I went up to 34 and the difference was incredible. So before you try anything else check your tyre pressures against what they should be.
