  1. Hey as long as everywhere we go is a pound a pint I don't mind LOL.
  2. These jobs always seem like a good idea when you start them but if my dash is anything to go by its a pain in the pisser when you actually do it lol
  3. Doesn't Leon from japspeed or summat like that in Southampton run Nos in his car? That said it might be a big single though.
  4. The UK lights aren't all that expensive dood.
  5. I shall see what mood the better half is in when she gets home and decide then. The dash went back together last night just needs another coat of paint on 2 bits of it.
  6. Sheesh that is shiny. I use auto-glym products on mine. Was most p*ssed off the other day as mine looked like someone had fed a flock of seagulss on my car and they had sat around crapping it all out.
  7. Sheet mate sounds like it was on sideways!!
  8. Nice 1 dood. Good on ya for havin a go at this job. It can be done the way you did it by measuring from the centre line of the car but its not that accurate but by the sounds of things it was a mile and a half out. Next time you want to get a bit of extra leverage on a spanner use a ring spanner interlocked onto the other end of an open ended spanner to give you another spanner lengths torque to play with.
  9. Basically that means that one of your back wheels is toe-ing out. The quick fix method that you are talking about may do more harm than good as you won't be able to align the wheel all that well without the aid of proper aligning tools. The mirror jobbies etc that garages use or laser equipment that top pro's use now. Any tyre place will do the alignment for you roughly in moments few to get you through to a proper laser alignment. What I am not understanding is why the tyre place you went to couldn't align the wheel? Has something been bent at some point like I had on my track rod hence my tracking couldn't be sorted?
  10. Dash spray not going well so I probably won't get to this one now.
  11. OK cool. Its the indiglo ones I have seen on sites in the states that I like the look of dial wise
  12. Thunder is that just a general day to day everyman price or is that a price that you have negotiated due to regularly transporting cars? If its an everyman price then £80 is very reasonable I mean how much would it cost you to drive to Liverpool from Newcastle and back because obviously whatever car you went across there in would have to come back? Also will they deal with cars that have no wheels on as I will need to get a car transported to mine and I think the wheels are sold allready.
  13. Soz fella I only got a boat trailer and a standard shit humping trailer
  14. Well its only to be expected Aero's rule!! Maybe the guy is gonna get himself the newer car with no outlay, and then swap the engine out of a TT hence gaining himself a TT Aero 3 years younger than his current car without the hassle of selling his car and trying to buy another one and only having to outlay about £3k to do this, giving him a 97 aero TT worth probably £13-£15k from a car worth £7-£9k plus outlay of £3k for engine swap putting him in pocket by over £3k
  15. For the cost of a couple of phone calls its gotta be worth opening the yellow pages and getting a quote from a couple of local recovery firms.
  16. Nearly all of the GZ extra's were available as options on all the other cars. Stuff like spoiler, aircon, and other bits an bobs were optional on my year SZ. So think yaself lucky that the bits have been payed for by someone else as some of the options are very expensive.
  17. Just a guess but VIN number should do the job.
  18. Even with it in nuetral?? Cripes I didn't know that.
  19. You mean that there is a button on the key to do the locking instead of on a seperate fob like for instance my clifford jobber for remote locking?
  20. From liverpool to newcastle?? Would you want to?? Phone a few recovery companies and get some quotes you will find that there can be big price differences between them and you might find a reasonable priced quote!
  21. OK how much to do my dials an stuff in red to match the rest of ever expanding red interior? Some new dials probably wouldn't go amiss either.
  22. The insurance will be the bit that is highly illegal. You should still be able to arrange cover for it without the other stuff if you speak tell the insurance company all the details. If not my advice get it put on a transporter cos you would be gutted if you either crashed it, someone crashed into you, or you got lifted lost your liscense and then couldnt drive it for a year.
