  1. You also said that japspeed might be good to do the supercharger that I was initially looking at doing. They were pretty much spot on the price mark and all that jazz but I have chosen another route now. Any idea who they would have used to do the tuning and rolling road aspect of the job?
  2. Yeah but any good engineer will tell ya when ya hump an dump an generally maul an engine or gearbox you release all sorts of crap that was stuck in allsorts of places into said component (you can't tell I used to work in an early failure detection unit can ya lol) and that standard practice post engine/transmission change is to drain and flush and replace All filters (we used to then send them for analysis including an oil sample lookin at PPM parts per million of metals suspended in the oil) So for the sake of £30 I will whack 2 cans of fully sythentic oil through the blighter over the tuning runs. Bear in mind post chinook helicopter aft transmision change we run it for approx 20 minutes on the ground and empty the oil out and refill at 125 litres of £2 a litre oil then run it for 20 more minutes and do it again, Oh and again between 5 and 25 flying hours.
  3. Well halfrauds are doing buy 1 get 1 free on their own make 5W/40 fully synthetic motor oil if thats any interest to you. I bought some at £29.99 for 2 five litre containers which I am going to use to drain and flush my new TT donk when I finally get it Hint Hint Neil lol:p
  4. OK on the list then! And the prop shaft? Well I will see that myself I guess when I get the car.
  5. Jesus look at that loom!!! http://www.jspecautosports.com/april.22.2004/april.22.2004%20009.jpg Theres not enough wires in there:thumbs:
  6. Right so thats the second person to say rear diff which I have to admit I was thinking I needed to do. Are the drive shafts from a TT auto transmission the same as the one/ones from the N/A? I ask because the donor of the vehicle is under the impression that the main drive shaft is bent or damaged so I will need to source one of them. Dude the diff in the car at the mo is from a standard GZ aero TT am I to assume that this diff is not LSD and that it would be advisable to get a LSD instead and not compulsory? I really can't afford to go buying a hod load of other bits right now as I am sure LSD's retail circa £700. By entire loom in order to get a scope of the job I am taking on do you mean everything including lights wiring and all the dash? Many thanks so far keep the stuff coming (honest I aint getting scared yet:music: )
  7. By loom I am assuming you mean the main one between the engine and ECU? It doesn't go anywhere else does it? ie back of the car etc? I don't have trac if thats traction control. Why would I want to change the diff? Is it for a LSD version you mean?
  8. So no answers to any of my questions yet then??? I almost have donor car just need advice now.
  9. Because at the moment I have a car complete with an auto transmission. This is costing me enough money as is. If someone however has a 6 speed box they will do a deal for my old N/A engine and auto box and the auto box from the donor car then yes I will be in business. Otherwise I am stuck with the auto which doesn't grieve me too much as I do quite like the auto box in my N/A. Bloody good idea though mate
  10. Yeah I noticed that. You would think that no-one around here knew the answer to the question. I posted on the yank soop forum and an admin shut the thread down??? They do it regular over there so I am bit pissed that the admins said search it and closed it down because I did search it and the answers I required were not forthcoming. Also to be fair any incursion of the Faye kind has to be viewed with a little Hi-jack scepticism lol. And you only have yourself to blame for that;)
  11. Pinklady is running 20"s she got them from someone near her might even have been leon.
  12. In the not too distant future I am intending to transplant an engine and auto gearbox from an aero TT into my aero N/A. I know that I am going to have to swap the gearbox across but how much more of the drive-train will have to be swapped? The exhaust downpipes will they marry my existing exhaust system or will I need to get some decat pipes as I don't intend on buying new cats if I do have to replace this section of the exhaust? I am aware that I will have to change the engine ECU are there any other engine related electrics that are not allready bolted onto the engine that I will have to change? Is there an auto transmission ECU that I will need to find and change? Inside the car is there any switchgear or other leccy bits I will have to ferret out of the dash etc? I am of course assuming that the engine mounts are identical and that I won't have to alter the steering system or any of that jazz-: am I correct in this assumption. Anything else I haven't thought of would be appreciatted. I put this in general discussion to get some ideas moving, when I get the vehicle and lift the donk out I will take pics as I go and will post specific questions in the tech area. One last question when I have completed the job where near bournemouth would be a good place to have the car tested and tuned properly.
  13. Ah see now I don't navigate by pubs unlike the older generation lol so I have no idea where the New Inn is, somewhere near the Barclays building gives me a rough idea though. Oh you are Lippy alright
  14. I just did my fronts- hmm correction my mrs just did my fronts (I showed her how and she did it so piece of pi** easy) and the difference is amazing. I got a spare sett from michel lane don't think he has any left now so join the queue with CJ and wait for him to get assed about for about 18 pages before they arrive lol (the assed about is done mainly by the people that ordered them)
  15. My tuppence worth Ebays rating system with feedback seems to work well. Badmouthing from people with zero feedback from anywhere will be taken with the pinch of salt required. Good retailers or workers should get a lot of positive feedback and crap ones will obviously not. Obviously it will only work if evryone that buys or sells summat or uses a service places feedback. It is also a double edged sword cos if you are a shite customer that could also be reflected. But back on the initial subject sort of. After I finish my engine transplant I need to get my motor tuned up proper which I assume will entail some rolling road time as I am changing ECU's etc. I am located in Bournemouth so need a quality tuner somewhere near me ANY IDEAS ALL?
  16. Ah thats better we like links lol
  17. What is it where is it?
  18. Hey show that to the corsa boy that has ruined an otherwise good corsa somewhere else in a thread on here and tell him thats what a nicely done job looks like.
  19. 1. Steve W2 2. Dangerous Brain 3. The Real Brains 4. ? 5. ? 6. Elliot - w/end or wd/eve 7. James (Elliot's mate) CBR600 - w/end or wd/eve Count me an the real brains of the outfit in! She is a better go-carter than I am as well as brains dept.
  20. If its on your route from work then no I haven't seen it as I don't drive that way. Maybe the Real Brains of the outfit has seen it. We need a new account so she can post her own stuff.
  21. Well my jspec passenger side one keeps condensating up as does quite a few peoples J-specs I have spoken to or seen so it must just be the lights regardless of type.
  22. Hey why not fit an electric fan to push the air through the filter and give the turbo's a bit a extra header pressure??? I'll get me coat
  23. I am called dangerous cos I blatantly run people off the road if they get in my way so overtake me at your peril!!! In fact if I see you coming the other way at a narrow section between the circuit directions I will attempt to come through the tyres after ya LOL.
  24. OOO dangerous:( Go-carting then getting in a fast road car recipe for disaster-[ wahooooo I'm up for that... Now why was I called dangerous again???
